Two long letters (translated) written 15 years ago for the former Chinese leader Mr. Deng Xiao Ping (about developments in China, plus concerns for Halley Comet's arrival (1985) and the possible cosmic stimulation on human and animal brain, hence effects on Tien An Men incident, Gulf Wars and the suicide of whales, etc., etc., even including mutation of HIV/AIDS virus (about 1979-1985) as well as now the Bird Flu virus (H2N1). These letters were later sent to Dr. B. B. Ghali for UN's 50th Anniversary (see UN letter 1995.)... Now on the eve of UN's 60th birthday, here are some revisits, past predictions and reflections that are still relevant today, especially on the possible cause of virus mutation. The following letter was written and passed on by a friend to Mr. Deng with intent to urge China's new policy and direction at end of 1989 :-  (Note: I have also written a Summary and Conclusion for the discussions in both these letters, but it's too long to put in the same page. So when you have finished reading, please continue by clicking " The 2nd Letter", also "Conclusions for the two letters" also "List of Halley comet visits and possible influences", the last page specially refers to notable events occurred during Halley comet's visits going back over 2000 years, including the possible  cause of Spanish Flu in 1918 and the scare of Bird Flu

About the 1st letter

This title contains 2 letters designed to be delivered by hand to the former senior Chinese leader Mr. Deng Xiao Ping. Later, the same letters were translated and sent to General Secretary Dr. Butro Butros Ghali for UN's 50th anniversary in 1995. This first letter was dated 6th Dec1989. Reportedly it helped to dissolve a certain awkward diplomatic dilemma at the Beijing US embassy where a Chinese professor of cosmology sought asylum and was stuck in the compound for about 9 months. The 2nd letter dated 5th Dec 1990, right after Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait. At the time 38 allied nations were gathering force ready to pounce on Iraq. The writer was recuperating at home from a major surgical operation and deep in the study of astrology and astronomy. It was not long after the intrusion of Halley comet into the solar system at the end of 1985. From the stand point of science, the writer believed at the time (and still do) that Halley comet's penetration into our solar environment could have caused disturbance or some kind of aggravation in the energy field of the system. Although the comet does not possess mass comparable to solar planets, it is heavy enough to qualify as a regular satellite member of the solar family. Upon its arrival its large volume, which takes up a lot of space, must have created some added effects or energy contribution to the solar radiation emission, and therefore, to some extent, affected the brain behavior or micro electromagnetic brain functions of humans and animals during the periods of Halley comet's visit. Also the microscopic lives, such as viruses, which are the smallest on earth, could have been affected to start mutation. I have prepared a large list of historical events and movements, which correlate with the arrival and apparent influences of Halley comet, during the past 2000 years  Please read "List of Halley comet visits and corresponding historic events".   .

So, the writer checked recent historic records and decided that Halley Comet's periodic visits might have been the cause of political unrests, wars, famines, new virus pandemic and other strange phenomena, such as the suicides of Whales. There are also some very unusual phenomena in the wild in recent years when elephants attack and kill hundreds of human every year. An unprecedented phenomenon now called :Elephant Rage". As both elephants and whales are intelligent and large animals possessing large brain mass, the phenomena could also be linked Halley's visit and its disturbance to the cosmic radiation in the solar system. At the same time it could also stimulate new growth or new positive social developments, depending on the trend of things at the time of comet's arrival. Taking reference from those few past occurrences of Halley's visit, the writer worked out that the peak of Halley effect appeared to take shape roughly about 6 years before it arrival at the Sun and would manifest into events for a duration of about 9 years directly after its arrival (Halley Comet arrived at very end of 1985.

Practically on the same day Reagen and Gorbachov embraced each other in Geneva and the world politics began to change. Presumably its influence would start already a few years before its closest approach to the Sun, say at a distance similar to that of Uranus, because the precursor of HIV/AIDS virus was discovered at end of the 1970s amongst the gay community, although its effect is not yet so much noticeable. The epidemic of HIV/AIDS exploded on and after 1985. A previous occurrence of Halley visit was about 1910 shortly before 1st World War, which ended about 1919. At its peak influence Spanish Flu occurred in 1018-1919 and killed at least 25 million people (some accounted to 50 millions dead). There appears to be a second wave of influence or impact as well, e.g. the 1st World War brought on the 2nd World War. Also the most recent natural disasters, e.g. Tsunami of Far East Asia, Floods in New Orleans, and now earthquakes in Pakistan and India, together with too many occurrences of human bombs are also events beyond the normal  Anyway there is no mathematical formula for this theory, but statistically there seems to be definitely a meaningful pattern. However, I shall come back to that in greater details later on...

In order to emphasize that modern astrology is a science that studies the patterns and effects of solar system's changing energy on human life, human society and evolution, and that Halley Comet's departure could have created a drag that distorts the normalcy in the solar system, the writer illustrated with many astrological predictions in these letters, which readers may judge for themselves. Then by chance the letters were delivered by hand to the above mentioned Chinese leader.. Now, one and half decades have passed. On reflection, Saddam Hussein was probably hit by comet effect and lost his normal balance, and these letters probably did help in some ways to restrain escalation of 1st Gulf War, which could have otherwise caused longer and stickier consequences for much of the world. Because many things discussed in the letters are still relevant today, and bombs are still blasting away in Iraq and Saddam's own fate is still undecided, and now on the eve of Israel's decision to withdraw from Gaza (Autumn 2005), perhaps it would help to expose the contents of those letters with accompanying new notes and reflections. Our planet is becoming smaller everyday.

Soon the day will come when man must decide either to let it explode by piling up more increasingly powerful guns and bombs and make wars all over the globe, or to prepare the heirs of this planet with wise and humane leadership, because the more we know about the universe and space technology, the more we realize that we are all stuck on earth for a long time to come. In the end, every one must come to agree that bullets and bombs cannot decide by themselves to make wars. It's the stuff in the human head and heart that will do it. In these coming centuries of nuclear technology, there cannot be dominating or dominated nations, just a shrinking and crowded spot called the earth. So, unlike the old colonial days when the continents were still partially explored and opened, and nations were still backward and unorganized, these days, even a limited warfare could bring about extended consequences at home and abroad. Besides, the next "World War" is quite likely to be a nuclear war!... Someday history will recall that China was the first nation to take the disheartening step to control her own population growth. Soon enough, other nations would equally come to know that self restrain will be a necessity in the centuries ahead...

           .          .

Four years ago when I started creating this website, I declared to describe the universe with explanations based strictly on known natural phenomena and principles explicable in science. I was able to do so, because I had been pondering the fundamental motion and structure of the galaxy, the cause of expansion and regeneration of the universe during the whole decade of the 1980s. So I began by separating the web-space into two parts. One part containing the integrals of the Regenerating Universe Theory, which is now grouped under "The Main Contents". I then put other background materials and matters of interests under the section, named "Related Topics". So far, as I had hoped, I have managed to keep the theory of cosmology free of fantasies beyond the logics of science. In fact, this is the only theory that coheres with the principles of traditions of sciences, e.g. Newtonian science as well as modern space science, evolutionary science and quantum physics. What's more, this theory also coheres with the fundamentals of the most ancient theory of cosmology known to man, i.e. the theory of Yin-and-Yang, or I-Ching, said to have been started in China some 7000 years ago.

So, it turns out to be more than I had bargained for, because of the logical assembly of various aspects, the theory therefore embraces not just the smallest particle physics, but also to the largest structures in cosmological scale, and not just the newest discoveries in science but also the oldest human wisdom as well. In other words, the oldest and the newest, as well as the smallest and the biggest are now seamlessly bridged in unison under scientific explanations. This, I think, is what cosmology should be! .. Meanwhile, there was another intention, with which I started this website, i.e. I had hoped to keep the site free of any political flavors. However, certain recent development has made it necessary for me to disclose these political correspondences mixed with this theory of cosmology and astrology written one and half decades ago. These political writings are still strongly relevant and meaningful today. The exposure of these old writings would also serve well as additional  protection for the copy rights of the theory of Regenerating Universe.

I am therefore lifting this self-imposed band on politics, mainly because some of those writings can still be interesting and useful to reflect. The said political correspondences were parts of materials contained in a large compendium accompanied by a letter that I addressed to Dr. Butros Butros Ghali, the General Secretary, and were sent to UN for her 50th anniversary. The compendium consisted of two long translated letters (originally in Chinese and were delivered by hand to the former senior leader of China, Mr. Deng Xiao Ping in Beijing at end of both 1989 and 1990), as well as some printed lectures about the theory of Regenerating Universe, which I had delivered in Chicago at the Convention organized by the American Federation of Astrologers in 1992. There were other materials, including one that explains how the human body is influenced by the energy of solar planets and possible cause and prevention of cancers. There were other high lights of some political events at the time of writing and many astrological predictions, plus their eventual verifications (I have been deeply interested in Chinese predictive science since my teens and Western predictive sciences since 1978. These sciences are all basically linked to astronomy and cosmology). Due to lack of space, only the two mentioned political letters are included here. The political incidents that I referred in those letters call for some reflections now, as this Oct UN will be celebrating her 60th birthday soon, many things happening around us today are reminiscent of words said more than a decade ago. Many trouble spots a decade ago are still the troubled spots today and many astrological indications are still worth considerations.

Yet, amidst the apparent comet disturbances, one nation, China, did emerge despite all odds and succeeded to mobilize her people with full force in executing colossal programs of modernization, with unprecedented advance of living standard within a record breaking time, all before the staring eyes of the world. Such magnitudes of modernizations, without appropriate political will, quality leadership and organization, simply cannot be put underway! And such resultant achievements without the consent, participation as well as hard-work of her entire people, simply cannot be done! But there could have been yet another remote possibility that the combined energy could have been stimulated by the Halley comet's effect. Meanwhile, the most significant consequence yet to surface is probably the rediscovery of those ancient wisdom and philosophy, which might shed old lights on new revelation towards "human to human" and "human to nature" relationship as well as war and peace for the 21st century....

Today we have just barely seen the first lights of that infinite cosmological age and the potentials of nuclear power. Perhaps it is time to think, and think hard, what is the true role for the humans in that boundless cosmological existence? Or how are we going to participate as a specie in the choice of survival. Do we prefer the primal barbaric instinct within us to run-amok? Do we want ourselves and our off-springs to kill each other or commit suicide for some short-lived advantages, or shall we look far into the cosmos and work as a team for our common survival? We can start not only by self control of population growth, but also by looking inwards and start to self-control the primitive instinct of killing each other, bearing in mind that we are living in an increasingly crowded small planet, and the human weaponry of destruction, both nuclear and conventional, are becoming increasingly dangerous, over-stocked and still piling up by the day, yet the human brains and hearts have not grown much larger. So time must come to restrain not just nuclear arms but conventional arms too. Let us work together to make our domicile (and our children's) a livable one, and all civilian lives are protected from aerial bombs or suicidal bombs!

Politics powers emerge in nations with different forms and manifestations, sometimes in the desire of demons and other times with the smile of angels. They can cause revolutions, world wars and mass bloodshed, but they can also construct great prosperities and monumental beauties for all to enjoy. All depends on the quality of leadership of the time, rather than the inherited social and political traditions. So all nations experience fluctuations in states of well-being or national calamity engineered by periodic leadership and politics. We will look into it with more details later on. Meanwhile, let's begin revealing some of the contents in the above said letters, and then reflect or comment on what had been said one and half decades ago, compared with what is happening today as well as what could still happen. However, before I start, I must first declare that whatever I am about to say, it should be of purely academic reference. As I have no political affiliation whatsoever in  my entire life, I have therefore no interests to point a finger at any one or any political party, or to gain anything out of it. The reason that I wrote to UN was purely out of goodwill too,  plus a hope to present some positive references. Perhaps because I took an impartial stance and my discussions were relevant, my writings did receive some attentions during the early 90s and also certain response from different quarters shortly after their presentation. As you will find out between the lines. Please read on!...

But let me tell you quickly a bit more backgrounds of those writings. I have been strongly influenced by Chinese cosmology and predictive technique since my early teens, because my grandfather was a Mandarin (Imperial Officer) of Yin-Yang in the last imperial dynasty. Also being a descendant of a long line of traditional Confucian scholars, my childhood educations were typically classical philosophies. Then in the 50s and 60s I went to study mechanical engineering in the UK followed by practical training in Germany. In the late 70s I collapsed in health and couldn't resist the desire to know more about the study of fate. So I started to program the Chinese predictive techniques in my computer and ended up in programming Western astrology. This led me to a life long interest on astronomy and cosmology as well.... Then came 1989. I bought a Chinese Word Processor for my computer and needed to practice it by typing a large number of Chinese words. At the time, there was a good deal of political tumult in Beijing. Days and nights news medias in Hong Kong were blasting away with all sorts sounds and pictures... Fortunately, the Hong Kong people retained their nerves and the society remained solid

I had just bought a Chinese language Word Processor and was struggling to practice the new language tool by referring to a printed script, then a thought flashed across my mind  Why not write a pretentious letter with it, that way I wouldn't need the script. So I started to address a letter to a young friend in Beijing, whom I now called "D" in this page, thus the letter went on and on. Streams of unrestrained thoughts poured through my finger tips almost by themselves into the word processor screen. These stuffs carried strong charges, probably because I never intended to post the letter anyway... . Then one day I went into Shen-Zhen to meet a friend about some business possibilities. We talked about the current events, and ended up by showing this un-mailed letter. My friend was impressed and suggested that he should show it to his father who was then an associate to the senior leader Deng Xiao Ping. I said why not show it to Mr. Deng. This was how things got started. Little did I imagine that Deng would pass the letter among other senior leaders in Beijing...

The following year 1990 was a very trying year. China was struggling to cohere in one piece in order to execute her new Open Door Policy and new directions. Hong Kong was getting ready to change hands. Large amount of capitals were drawing out of Hong Kong. Manufacturers were scrambling to move into China where basic operating costs were cheap. Drug cartels and underworld activities were reaching epic proportions. Economic uncertainties were looming in the whole East. In Gaza, Middle East, everyday kids were throwing stones against machine guns....  These were the years of abnormal weathers; famines; floods in Bangladesh; the starvation in Africa, the still new threat of HIV virus and the lingering troubles in Beijing. Meanwhile, Eastern Europe were breaking up, even whales are committing suicides in groups and in repeated intervals, and children in Gaza were throwing stones against machine guns....

By then my studies had brought me to a vague conclusion that Halley Comet could have played a big role in stirring up abnormality in our cosmic environments. It happens once every 76 years, which of course would affect everything, including the micro electric waves that function our brains. I also had worked our that the Halley effect in causing social and political havoc would peak about 9 years after its closest approach to earth, or rather after the start of its departure ( Halley Comet arrive at very end 1985, on that day Presidents Reagen and Gorbachev met and hug each other in Geneva, which stopped years of Cold War but changed the world to another direction. However, according to my calculation, the disturbance would peak and then subside around 1994/5 ). In my own perspective, the sudden and none negotiable action of students who forcibly occupied the Tien An Men Square for 58 days, demanding immediate and on spot change over of a national system, 4 times the size of USA, to democracy, and also the sudden break-out into uncontrolled weeping of the China's Premier at the Square, are all illogical consequence brain disturbance caused by some abnormal ad unknown forces, which would obviously not have occurred at any normal times...

Even my own life and my industry were under completely unexpected attack at the time... In Aug 1990 Saddam Hussein suddenly invaded Kuwait and 38 allied nations were preparing for war. At the time, many retired world leaders, e.g. Tanaka of Japan, Keath of England and Cater of the USA, went to visit Saddam and persuaded him to withdraw from Kuwait. Saddam refused!. Had he withdrawn, he would have avoided his own destruction and enjoyed increased prestige, but instead, he chose the suicidal alternative, which would seem impossible to any sensible man or any good leader. It appeared his brain was affected too by the abnormal comet influence. I decided it was time to write another letter to Mr. Deng Xiao Ping and warn about the possible effects of the comet disturbance on human social and political stability. For the same reason I also decided in 1995 to send a collection of materials, including copies of my letters to Dr. B. B..Ghali for UN's 50th Anniversary. I must admit that at the time, I was strongly alarmed and pretty scared too of the comet's effects because my life was encountering troubles in different fronts.

One thing I had to do in my letters to Mr. Deng during the days of extremely emotional demands for democracy in Beijing was to form a bridge between East and West by talking and using references of history, because both civilizations have their historic backgrounds and achievements, which I know something about. So on the one hand I greatly praised the merits of western democracy, and on the other hand, I gently explained that Confucius philosophy and true socialism, in essence, do aim and arrive at the same goal of achieving individual expression, family unity, national orders and world peace, which is the essence of Confucius society. But in those extreme emotional days, I am afraid I had hugely over praised the virtues of democracy (I will explain this point later on).  Another thing I had had to do, in order to show and warn more about damage from Halley Comet, was that I had to actually predict some political events, so that I could demonstrate the validity of astrological prediction on spot, which is based on calculations of combined changing planetary energies of the solar system. In other words, I tried to demonstrate that social events are energized by solar planetary energies and can be predicted by science.

Indeed, in 1995 heads of member state congregated in UN for her 50th birthday. President Clinton worked hard to secure the first peace treaty for the Gaza problem. He also tackled many other problems including nuclear weapon proliferation and global drug problems, etc.. It would appear that the possible havoc caused by Halley Comet did reach a peak some 9 years after its arrival, i.e. end 1985/6 to 1995, under the collective enthusiasm at the UN, especially Gaza's peaceful agreement caused a huge numbers of UN members to donate in rejoice (Note: Astrology has since then become an authentic subject of science. French astrologer Elizabeth Teissier had been awarded a Ph.D for her work. In the U.S. a university grade college specialized in astrology, named "Kepler College" is now awarding up to Master Degree. Dozens of universities around the world have taken research projects on the subject)....

Now that I have explained the background of my action, I will now get down to the substances. The followings are the translated substance of my first letter delivered to Mr. Deng dated 6th Dec 1989. Paragraphs that are unimportant and uninteresting, together with courtesies and personal remarks are omitted. Some English translations and some expressions have been touched up and improved. Some points of discussion have been made clearer and more readable, but the essence of the letter remain intact... All astrological prediction remain exactly as they were first translated from the letters,  Notes, comments and reflections are added in brown color. These 2 letters and addendums are quite long, together they contain well over 300k bytes (300,000 bytes) of texts. So please wait for loading. I shall now start with the 1st letter :-

The 1st letter begins:

Dear "D" (Note:- "D" is the recipient, a real person, but whose name was used to cushion the direct impact of addressing a senior political leader. This letter was dated Dec 6th 1989)

" Few years ago, a relatively simple principle dawned on my mind. I believe that all MATTERS, either Physical or Meta-physical do possess not only three or four dimensions, but instead there should be five dimensions in all. I will try to give a simple explanation here, and leave the detailed theoretical discussion to some later date.:-

"These five dimensions, starting with Physical Matters, are as such:- Matters possessing only one or two dimensions are of such nature, which theoretically have not yet been formed into a concrete physical substances in existence. They are merely theoretical elements or components. Only matters possessing a third dimension are already independent substances, such as a physical substance. Now, if TIME may be called the forth dimension, then LOCATION, or ENVIRONMENT may, metaphorically speaking, be assigned to be the 5th dimension, because all existing substances must be further subjected to different location or environmental conditions, which would make them different.

Of course, environmental conditions involve ambient forces, temperatures and other factors of influence, but we'll group them into one. All five dimensions are inter-dependent and in co-existence without exception. They are Nature’s complete components of existence. As everything in nature is in a state of perpetual change and also concurrently seeking balance. If a balance is reached, it is further broken down by other influences to start changing again. Therefore, everything in nature is in a state of FLUX or CHANGING equilibrium. Such changes are subject to time and location. (This is the basic idea of I-Ching, the "Book of Change". I will explain more about I-Ching some other time). Consequently, there is not a single matter or element in Nature that can exist independently and in a state of constancy without being forced to combine into a three dimensional matter, and the three dimensional matters are again subjected to conditional changes and become new matters because of the 4th and 5th dimensional influences. Consequently, the Components of Existence in Nature are always 5 metaphorical dimensions. At this point I will not go into more discussions about theories of physics here, instead, I will like to discuss more about Ideological or Meta-physics matters.

"In the field of ideological matters, which include ideas, thoughts, theories, spiritual matters, social and political principles, there are also five dimensional Components of Existence. For instance, a single dimensional matter includes a single word, a sound, a color or an unrelated a musical note that have no response with the rest of world.. ideas or expressions such as, impulses, personal thoughts or immature or selfish opinions, etc...  The two dimensional matters include, such as an expression, a dream, a fantasy, an utopian thought, an unverifiable belief or any ideas or  principles that cannot stand alone in reality. This group of metaphysical matters, although possessing two dimensions, but can not represent common human needs and are unable to produce a natural resonance with human nature. They can not be agreed and accepted by all people. All matters possessing three dimensions are that of “solid” ideologies, such as social, educational, and political principles which can produce a total resonance with Nature and Human Nature, and therefore, are agreeable to all people. The forth dimension is again the dimension of “ TIME “. Obviously, all ideologies and thoughts are subject to scrutiny of time and age. As evolution never stops, history actually never ever repeats... The fifth dimension here is also the indispensable LOCATION or ENVIRONMENT. People are not the same in different places, even the next door neighbor. Social conditions change according to different environments. Therefore, ideas are different because of their locations (Note:- These words were written in 1989. In Spring 2005 President Putin indicated that democracy is developed from historical environments. Historical environments are both time and location)

"For this reason, all ideologies and principles as well as religious, social and political systems must have the complete five dimensions in order to endure the test of time and the changes in natural environment. For instance, the Christianity, its principle is to link God to all men through Jesus, but as it knows how to inhabit with time and location. It has the complete five dimensions, and therefore, becomes a living religion. The Buddhism teaches how to reach and acquire the perfect spiritual state as a way of life. Its theory of Karma governs the past, present to future, is already a forth dimensional representation. To-day, its new sprouts are growing in various parts of the world, which becomes the 5th dimension. The Chinese “Ru Teaching“ , namely the Confucian philosophy, although has very rich ingredients of human social relationship and human to nature understanding, but it needs modernization and restructuring, so that it may suit the present day’s environmental requirements. Without modernization, it must lose its 4th and 5th dimensions. It would be slowly neglected and forgotten by Chinese people inside and outside China. In fact it is fast becoming an extinct culture, just as many past cultures have become extinct in the human history...... ( Please see following “Annex ”, which was original included at the end of letter).

Annex:- The decline of the “Ru” Teaching is a tremendous pity. The teachings of “Ru”  in fact can co-exist with any political systems and ideologies, because whatever parts of “Ru” that are out of date can be analyzed and revitalized with contemporary interpretations. Whatever parts that are suitable can be enhanced and glorified. In order that any culture may live and grow, correction, omission and bringing it up to date are always necessary. The “Ru” teaching has been flowing through the Chinese bloods well over two thousand years. It has become part of the inherent Chinese character. The politicians of modern time have not fully adopt it to coordinate with timely political ideologies in order to achieve a resonant effect, and making it a social political energy as well as the generating energy of economy, and in the meantime, to rightfully claim the living heritage of cultural legacy.... This precious property, in turn, has been well preserved in Japan (and Korea) because Japan was comparatively free of foreign invasion and occupation. To-day the teachings of “Ru” have become the binding energy of personal character grooming, family and social orders of the space age Japanese society. It is also one of the reasons of the Japanese social orders and economical success ..

The teaching of Ru is the "Middle Way" , through out the dynasties, it has performed the role of a loving mother, as well as a mild and understanding house wife in the household of Chinese social and political system. Because the entire philosophy is very humane, practical and natural, but not supernatural. It has given far greater reach and depth than any political and religious system in human history, including democratic ideals (I will come back to this later). It was also the glue that held together Chinese culture in peace and prosperity for thousands of years, at least until the world industrial revolution.  In some periods of the Warring States and in each episode of change between dynasties during the subsequent two thousand years, this motherly like influence sometimes became temporarily dormant, because she was non-confrontational, but as soon as conflicts were over, she immediately stepped in to take creative efforts. In each period of peace, she had brought forth cultural and economical growth to historic heights. She also had been the sole life force for the Chinese Silk Culture (Reflection:- In Feb 1993, the Vice President of China, Mr. Ron Yi-Ren, announced that China needed a modern day  Confucius. In early 1995 it was reported that some Confucius teachings or the Ru philosophy had been revised and re-introduced in wide scale. Millions of books had been sold...)

There are some present day political policies which contain high degree of warlike atmosphere as well as inclinations towards continuous conflicts. Such ideologies are suitable to exist in war or emergency conditions, but as soon as emergency conditions stops or in days of peace, such confrontational atmosphere often create unnecessary reaction and self destruction. There is also a great need for peace time religious and social belief, or else there will be fatigue of belief in social life. This will lead to all kinds of crimes and moral problems. These kinds of problem are very difficult to heal. They are contagious, far reaching and lasting. Once it occurs, it would corrupt a couple of generations. In that time, anything could happen. If there is no timely treatment or guidance, the end results can only deepen and become still more complicated (Note: Such atmosphere had completely disappeared almost immediately around 1991-2)... Presently, there is a new strength of spiritual and mental belief in the making. It is a most advanced science, which can meaningfully co-exist with all sets of religions. It contains unfathomable natural and super natural wisdom, as well as the highest and deepest human philosophy. Through it, Man can personally acquire enlightenments. With it, it is possible to understand the past and the future. It can avoid conflicts, increase self-protection and prolong health and longevity. It is a wonderful thing (Note:-  I was referring to Astrology, which has since become a recognized science)....

" Therefore, Time and Location (or Environment) are factors of Change. If Einstein’s forth dimension (should be Minkowski's) is taken to be true, then the fifth dimension must also be recognized. Every location or environment produces its own product, called the "Culture", which are not quite the same. Every DNA must come from its own DNA source, so that a fish does not suddenly become a bird. The principle is really not difficult to observe and understand. In short, the first three dimensions are factors of formation, whilst the 4th and 5th dimensions are factors of transformation, and during all transformations energies are absorbed or released.. (Then I went on at length to describe how capitalism had transformed since Karl Marx's days under the influence of modern environments, also how times have changed and how barbaric behaviors and cannibalism became extinct, as well as how the world has become homogenized through commercialism and communication).

".... Therefore, this good housewife is, in fact, what I call the first 3-dimensions. Having such a housewife, people’s hearts will cohere. Social and family life will consolidate. Happiness and hope can be shared by all. Once security and prosperity is achieved, only then it is time for songs and dance, or needs for human morals and human rights. After knowing that the tummy is empty or full, and what’s wrong or right, then it is time to help and share with other humans. This is just humanity and simple human nature. The term Human Nature is in fact the sum of individual person’s inherent nature. It has similar needs and common aspirations.

"Every human action has a definite “Cause” and also a definite “Effect”. That is why social fate can be predicted by astrology with remarkable accuracy, in accordance to timing and location...  Consequently, whenever there is conflict between political power and human nature, the human nature will first endure passively, but as time progresses, there will be discontents and struggles. Such struggles can continue until finally an un-deferrable and uncontrollable strength appears ... This strength will utterly and irrationally attempt to seek immediate solutions for all problems. When it breaks out, often it is like avalanches, and more than often as a complete surprise. Then it can not be stopped ... In to-day's electronics and computers age, when knowledge is advancing rapidly, a decade’s progress is equivalent to a century in the Middle Ages (This was written in 1989, I believes Internet's WWW only started in 1993). Every individual wants to live an comfortable modern life that befits their environment. Everyone wishes to think and participate in modern social and political life. The society therefore must march forwards. No one can and no one has the right or the power to stop or change its course. Even when there is an untimely retreat at times, it will and must go forwards again.

"In the last few years, I have often talked of human nature, as well as the phenomena and manifestations of the great nature. I remember in 1982 or 1983 I wrote to you “ There is a tremendous under-current which is becoming more and more apparent. Men are beginning to show compassion for each other and for other fellow species. This is a rare thing in human history ”. This is what I refer to as the human resonance. You did not take it all in at the time. But soon after I have written, the Hong Kong people initiated quite a few large scale charity donations. Couple of years after that, some artists in London organized huge charity singing concerts to save the starving children of Africa. There will be starvation in Africa again this year, I think there will be some more similar actions taken (Bob Gilbert and friends are doing it again this year, 2005).... In a few more years, people must believe this, because the world is already over populated. The Earth is becoming too small. It may soon be ruined. The present problems facing Man, are the problems of co-existence for the whole human kind and how to save our Earth from uncontrolled exploitations. Many Western European nations may soon be united by choice.  This is a precedence in human History. People in Eastern Europe have come to new revelations too. The East Berlin people are receiving money gifts from the West Berliners. The world is changing under new visions and revelations. This is also a human resonance that will continue onwards from here on ...

" The economy of Eastern Europe could have come to a rapture, if the social and political situations had continued in the way it was going the last few years. While the speed of the western world, both technologically and economically would have gone too far to be caught up. The gaps between the rich and the poor nations would become too great. In less than two to three decades, the problems for the poor nations may become dangerous. There is bound to be internal strives and misgivings. Yet, the capitalist world does not take the opportunity to exploit and harm them, instead, they are using rational persuasions and reaching into their pockets to help. Therefore, to-day’s capitalism is a very different thing compared with that of Karl Marx’s days. (Note:- These were very important words for the soon-to-be open door policy. Besides, on 10th July 2005 the G-8 nations held meetings in Scotland and decided to cancel debts of African nations totaling some US$ 50 billions.. Both good and bad should be said)

"Conflict of war occurs invariably as a result of the following causes:-  Differences between the rich and the poor become too large. Gaps between strong and weak nations become too wide. Historical hatreds; struggles of human injustice; or the will power and ambitions of dictators, or any of these energies become uncontainable, war flames flare soon after choice of wrong leadership, and the methods to execute wars are invariably through fanning up mop emotions and putting them to massive destructions. In the past one century, mankind has tasted enough such unnecessary stupidities. So now the human being, having survived so many huge mistakes and experience so much bad memories, is about to gain some control over its raw nature. After great destructions, there follows always a period of great revelation and great construction. After world wars, there must come a duration of world peace.  Or else, the consequence would be obvious.

"Therefore, from here on it should not be so easy for men to fan up internal conflicts or massive war sentiments or commit similar stupidities again, even if some ambitious war lovers should gain power, the danger should be limited because people are wiser now. The tremendous rapid development of to-days communications imparts powerful human wisdom and understanding into the hearts of all men and women alike. As the female nature is life-loving and peaceful, its increasing participation in human affairs should ensure human survival. There is also a resurrection of divine nature deep within human awareness that links humans to all lives and phenomena in the great nature. The end result will be love and protection of nature and life, thus universal sentiments will and must increase, as human wisdom increase. This is rapidly becoming a global force. For this reason, and at least for the next half a century, mankind will march on the road of peace and mutual respect for common well being. .. ( Incidentally, Gorbachev remarked in 1989 that 'in the coming 15 to 30 years, the world will be a peaceful one:.. Indeed, much had happened. Right after this writing, the Cold War ended. The First Gaza Peace treaty was signed under the Clinton administration. South Africa's apartheid ended. Hong Kong’s change hand smoothened and UN’s Reform proposed. Crime and Corruption suppressed world wide. The world is recovering fast).

" It is evident that in life there are choices of broad open ways as well as small twisted paths to reach a destiny, as it is in governing a nation. The greater rout is one that is wide and bright, which can reach through human nature and resonant with its needs. The human needs are the primary desire and aspirations of each person or each member of a society. Unfortunately it is impossible to unify all individual desires and aspirations into one single cause, such as choosing a leader. For that reason, the search for the best possible leadership continues to evolve. Some nations try to cohere individual needs by giving their members some form of participation in order to have the general consent, but as time passes, the system evolve out of shape and the individual participation becomes a mandate that no longer represents the individual or national interests, instead, it becomes the consent to empower one single leader who in effect represents a group called the "party", thus the party power grows to huge proportions and the individual needs are no longer taken care of.

This gives rise to a situation where some other nations take measure to choose a leader from professionals whose qualities, qualifications and past experiences are known, in the hope to ensure such leader's performance can best safe guard the interests of members and the state. The systems of each government may be different, but the essence to serve both the individual and the state must be exercised and performed. Therefore, there are democratic capitalistic systems and there are also so called democratic socialistic systems, depending on the demand of time in history and the needs of regional environments. Because of the varying factors of time and environment, all nations are constantly searching and developing their own systems. There are disputes about what is the best, yet so far no political systems are quite perfect. Unfortunately, while nothing is perfect yet, mankind has already arrived at the age of nuclear weapons. The difference in ideology can cause utter distrust, which could lead to cold or hot wars, and eventually the possibilities of nuclear wars...

"However, at the end of day, the closest alternative to perfection is one that gives genuine quality and performance of leadership, which would satisfy the individual needs, national security and world peace. But this is not always available. Some systems permit opportunities for ambitious men to maneuver public sentiments to gain position of power. There have been many leaders in the past who excelled in the skills of gaining power, but once in power, the actual performance departs far from mass aspirations. This kind of system can be dangerous to the individual, to the nation and the world at large, because it can eventually lead to wars and create unbound hatred between people of conflicting beliefs. In the end, global control of nuclear wars must be sought. The problem is, can nuclear wars really be controlled when aggressions are present and dangers loom?  Once blood begins to flow, would people still abide to rules and treaties of peace?  Of course, there exist many alternative political systems. These are the nations that import political systems, some of them even work out successfully. Usually these are small nations that have no strong historical backgrounds. Any system is better than no system. Unfortunately, there are also some that do have their back ground culture but less advanced, they also randomly adapt systems unsuitable for their own culture. Because their people do not have the chance to experience the course of natural evolution, and to understand the pros and cons during the development, these systems are experiencing no end of troubles, and nobody knows why because they appear to work for others.

(Reflections :- As President Putin has recently remarked, history has a lot to do with development of political systems. There are systems, which are passed down from distant history and there are also systems that are still experimental. Some systems choose a leader proposed by political parties and then confirmed by general election. Other systems make sure of the quality of leadership by simply appointing or selecting a leader with known qualities or well established qualifications, such as past performance. Some other systems may choose a leader from a base of electorates who are themselves elected by the general public, whereby again, because these officials are already experienced in various responsibilities of  governance, the qualities of leadership chosen are better ensured and the unknown quantities are minimized. The above systems may be combined to obtain optimum safety and stability of the domain. The different modes of finding leadership depend on the historical background, on environmental developments and on timely needs, because history has taught us that nothing stands still for ever and that human civilization is a continuous evolution. Another factor should be borne in mind is the size of the domain. For instance, Hong Kong is only a single town, and Macaw is even smaller. Small town-like domains are unlike large countries and may be an easy target for economic or political attacks, therefore, the needs to maintain political stability as well as peaceful relationship with her political and economic partners become vital to such systems.

So, safety and stability must come first. Ultimately, such tiny domains, having little need of great upheavals and changes of policies or party politics once every few years, should opt for a combined system as safety measure. In fact, small autonomous administrative regions must be particularly vigilant for any well organized political and economic attacks because it is easier to disrupt the economical political stability of a small population. On the other hand, a small region can just as easily generate growth or recovery from any source of well intended assistance. There are many such examples... In a nutshell, the whole purpose of electing a leader is the hope to select the best quality of leadership, in order to safeguard, in times of peace, the stable continuity of economical growth and political stability, Yet in times of crisis, to provide timely foresights, humane wisdoms, responsibility and courage that would lead the people out of crisis. One right decision from a leader and millions would rejoice, but one wrong decision, then millions could die as well. One thing is sure, the purpose of leadership election is not some self centered or relentless demands, originating out of political ambitions (as Kennedy once said "Do not ask what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country!"). If you should unfortunately allow such ambitious and selfish man to be in power, you can imagine what kind of outcome or future prospects he could bring to your society and your own life! Therefore the quality of leadership is either the priceless possession or the most dangerous motivator of a nation, regardless of whether he is democratically elected or not...

There are many political systems that have been also passed down from distance past. Some of these systems still maintain their name and substance developed well before the modern world was fully and sufficiently established. In time each adopted new measures to suit their regional purposes, others have grown out of their original shape and original designs, but their people have got so used to the slow change that they do not notice original intents and circumstances no longer exist. In fact, the world has changed so much that in this prevailing nuclear age there can only be one choice left, i.e. the entire human specie must survive as a whole, because if future wars did break out, the nuclear pollution would render air and foods unlivable for everybody. The half life of nuclear material lasts thousands of years and a small dose of pollution will eventually kill by deprivation of clean food and illness. Once any persistent wars, (conventional wars included) break out, there is no guarantee that they won't lead to nuclear wars (like the 2nd World War). Crude detonation of dirty bombes were invented more than half a century ago and described in Internet. Hundreds, if not thousands, of nuclear power stations have been constructed since. There is no telling whether those nations, which are constantly subject to threats or bullying, would not have already accumulated plenty of fission materials to make dirty bombs. Pakistan was able to detonate a device one month after India's nuclear explosion.

These days human lives are becoming cheaper by the day as people are blowing themselves up in order to kill others. And historically, plenty of leaders were willing to use citizens' lives for the purpose of political ambitions. It becomes imperative to understand and to fully investigate the grounds behind the blood sheds and prevent further escalation. But above all, time has come for all nations to take a hard look at their traditional political systems and the fundamental purpose for choosing a national leader, because a leader can lead his nation to wars and end up with unpredictable consequences to his people and to the rest of world. The 21st century will yet turn out to be a moment in earth history when politics must decide whether the end of world should come by direct attack with bombs and guns, or by indirect means of political, economical or ideological invasions. Either way will lead the humans to wars, then nuclear wars and finally total suicide.. It's not only the so called "Terrorists" are capable of committing suicide, but all politicians and people involved in political conflicts are capable of doing it, only in a more subtle but much greater scale.

There are political systems that are largely designed to mobilize mass consent, which then empowers the leader to act on their behalf. A term called "Mandate" allows a leader to make wars or peace on behalf of the people. This extreme power comes from mass participation in electing a national leader. Although there are also variations due to regional environments. Majority of such electoral systems may have started with many choices of individual candidates, or political parties, but as time went on, voters flock to political parties and parties would grow more and more powerful politically. More and more small parties and independent candidates would find it difficult to compete. Eventually two large powerful parties would emerge to form a competitive oppositions. It goes without saying, equal and opposite strength of parties would take turns to govern. Sometimes in the process of development there could be more than two political parties, but such a multi party system frequently runs into a dilemma when none of the parties can obtain a simple majority of votes. In such a scenario the parties must form a coalition to rule with somewhat different policies and the possibility of plunging the land into political and economical instability. The instability is becoming more and more sensitive in the international financial world everyday as the world economy becomes increasingly inter-related. The formation of a bi-party system therefore becomes a natural product of evolution. There are many such bi-party nations today.. .

However, the two parties would choose their own leader and consequently present only 2 individual candidates before national election. Such electoral system is therefore split also into 2 processes, i.e. firstly, a choice by the party, which decides who shall be its candidate. Then followed by the votes of the general public who pick the final choice. So, in effect, the vast public can only choose either one man or the other who represents the respective party politics. To put it bluntly, you can vote your heart out as long as you vote only what the parties want for you to vote, which is just one candidate for each party, but there is no way you can choose whomsoever you want to vote for. And the quality of the future national leader is fixed by the political parties, which the voting public has no choice but to accept, because loyalty to the party already destroys the essence of democracy, and the influence of powerful party aristocracy makes it impossible to select quality. Therefore, in truth Universal Suffrage in this case can only mean that all voters agree to abandon the principle of democracy (meaning fair and equal universal rights to elect for and be elected by all people. In other words, people's rule) in favor for the absolutely bare minimum possible choice (Note: Absolute bare minimum is two candidates, because one candidate alone does not constitute a choice).

Yet, there is even a more serious and dangerous fraud in the system. The party becomes the clever smoke screen for the rich and powerful, or contemporary aristocrats, to use the party hierarchy as a stepping stone to rule over the entire population.... So, in the end national election becomes an institution controlled by the party to introduce aristocratic rule and side step the demand of the rule by the people or democracy. In fact, if the same system is exported or inserted into a targeted nation, it could be the means to take over that country by remote control of its parties and elections mechanisms, and such nations can then be used as loyal allies for further international conflicts and wars. It would appear that the Third World War must be a war of parties. For instance, let's say a coalition of 40 warring nations would descend upon you at the death of night like 40 Pearl Harbors and 40 enemy government and military command centers (or capital cities) would be blown to oblivion before you could wake up... As to whether this summation is true or false, people can judge for themselves from what's going on in reality... Hopefully none of this has happened yet, or going to happen, but I have to sound the alarms and expose the possibilities, because in the next World War, if any, there would be no bystanders, nor neutral nations. It's not going to be just two atom bombes, but thousands of nuclear bombs. So, it's either pollution sicknesses or just bye-bye!. I would not be writing this strong analysis, if there were no force attempting to replace the long tradition of humane Chinese culture that teaches world peace and equality with party politics could bring the world to the brink of destruction....

Consequently, although the term "Democracy" implies fair and equal chance for all and "Universal Suffrage" again further stresses this meaning, the reality is far from true. The reality is that voters are allowed the least statistical possibilities of "2" in any situation of choice. Even then, there are two vital fundamental aspirations missing, i.e. firstly these choices of candidates are predetermined by political parties and not by voters, then secondly, which is even more important, the voters are unable to choose the quality of the candidates. That's why the voting public must be clearly informed that although the names "Democracy" and "Universal Suffrage" sound so good, they have in fact been blown up so big that the voting public's visions have been totally obscured from the true original meaning and purpose.  Democracy in ancient Greek was invented to mean electoral equality and fairness of choice by all members of the public. This was possible only because ancient Greek "City State" consisted of not more than around 10,000 people. But in modern time, the value of original Democracy, meaning People's Rule, where the whole body of citizenry participated in the rule of land, has been depreciated down to the absolute minimum of 2 choices. What a depreciation! Yet, somehow modern people are still believing that they actually participate in the rule of land. And nobody ever complained that he or she has been robbed. Still, even in ancient Greece, it was not truly democratic because women and slaves had no political rights to vote.

In any case, thousands of years have passed since ancient Greeks invented Democracy. Now the First World War changed sharp metal weapon to bullets and cannon shells. The Second World War changed bullets to Atom Bombs. In the future wars, small nuclear devices would be striped onto human waist or blow your whole town up to smithereens from outer space. Yet, politicians can't wait for Third World War to happen by collective warfare or coalition of warring nations, even when it is quite unnecessary. We all know that wars are never the wish of any private citizens, yet under decision and demand of national leader, a citizen has only the rights to kill or dye for his nation. So let's emphasize again, how the citizens choose their leader who then decides to make wars becomes a major concern not only for the citizen but also for the rest of world...

Nowadays after the candidates have been chosen by political parties, a great festive atmosphere is then drummed up by tradition to mobilize the participation of the entire citizenry. The individual voter then by habit thinks that because he has taken part in the election, he therefore has given his personal consent. It is then called "the mandate", which in turn means " the mass consent" or "general authorization", when in fact the voter is given the least possible number of "two" candidates (because "one" is not a choice ) to choose from, and yet such choices are not selected by the voters. Therefore, in fact the voter is lured to believe that he has given his free will consent to an electoral system which sounds so democratic. So he happily rubber stamps the bare minimum that he is given to choose from, no matter the candidate in his choice has the quality to be worthy of the given mandate, or not. Such illusion now empowers elected leader to decided life and death of the soldiers in his nation with absolutely undisputed authority and impunity, including the fate of other nations, friends or foes. Once the election is done, the authorization is final...

However, it must be said that the very intent and hope of any election is to select a leader with the best possible humane qualities and wisdoms among all people, so that in times of peace such best human qualities would lead the nation to greater social harmony and prosperity, and in times of war or any other crisis to protect and prevent the loss of life and property. Such is the fundamental aspiration of any electorates in selecting their national leadership. Am I right or wrong? Only perversion would lead to ambitious adventurism, which could generate various unpredictable consequences to his people and the rest of world. Haven't we had enough of that yet? ... Yet, much of modern politics, after barely a few years of peace and prosperity, have already forgotten the want of leadership quality, and drifted towards power politics, which must then lead to some form of international power struggles and finally prolonged destructions and human carnage, as if the two world wars have not taught the human kind any lesson at all. So who has the rights to decide who should live and who should die as well as what qualities a leader should possess. I think this is the most vital essence of "Human Rights". If I am right, then the elected leader should at least have some established humane qualities...

The bi-party democracy dictates 99.999% of the candidacy for the final general election. The system leaves only two choices of candidates out of hundreds of millions of citizenships. If your school teacher should ask you to elect a class leader out of only two predetermined classmates, I bet you will complain that it is indeed very undemocratic, but in national election the tradition and propaganda are so overwhelming that you'd probably don't notice that you have no right to choose your real candidate, but you do have the right to rubber stamp the choice of political parties and give your mandate. This is not the way of the original ancient Greece. Besides, in general election, due to almost equal strength, a victorious political party usually assumes power with a small margin of winning votes, which means that this small amount of votes decides the fate of a nation. It also means that almost half of the total votes are not in favor, or are against the choice.

Therefore, it is not true "mass consent". What's more, a very large percentages of population do not joint any political party, which easily reduces the winning party to a minority. Then another huge percentages of eligible voters do not go to poll, which is another huge population unaccounted for. Then there are still some who are eligible to vote but have not registered as voters. And lastly, there are the too young and too old to vote, which again take up a large proportion of citizens. Also in some countries women are not given the right to vote. All these are presented under the alluring definition, namely "Democracy", but in fact they reduce the winning votes to a bare tiny minority compared with the whole national population. Because this is a certainty therefore such bi-party (and also even worse under multi-party) democratic election systems becomes the representation of national minority rule every single time. And you have no way of choosing the quality of the elected leader that you may hope for. In other words, you have given your all mighty Mandate to an unknown quantity blindly without having any clue what he or she could do with it.....

The scenario is in truth some political parties, each with a small national minority, completing to seize political power for the rule of the land. If this system is spread to another nation, it would give an opportunity for another minority party, or even a Trojan Horse party, to grab hold of the rule of land or the extremely powerful "Mandate" to act on behalf of the people. Such attempt if taken place involuntarily in a nation with completely different cultural and social background is equivalent to a violent revolution in regional cultural and political life, and will inevitably result in irreconcilable internal conflicts and often blood sheds, which can be much more lasting and more devastating then any external war. Then once the ruling power is at hand, it would be difficult to determine what quality of leadership, or whether if it is a pure Trojan Horse, that holds the rein. This therefore could further gives rise to endless power struggle and human suffering that occur from time to time in different parts of the world... Now, because we are living in the age of mass destruction and the power of political mandate can and does hold the fate of nations and mankind at large, these historic and misleading political traditions, which holds the name of Democracy, yet fully packed with explosive nuclear potentials, should be analyzed in great details under modern conditions. Or else, once a miscalculated action is taken it might be too late to turn back, not just for the nations involved, but for the whole world ...

Anyhow, this kind of election system neither represents that the best quality of leadership is chosen, nor that an absolute majority consent is given to rule. In a long term average, the 2 political parties would take term to govern and national political directives may be subject to flip flop changes once every few years. One elected leader would give the world an impression of peace and goodwill, another would give the atmosphere of aggression and threat all within a few years, or even less... In short, the true aspirations of democratic election can be easily turned into a drama of national and world related political and military struggle.... Meanwhile the individual voter has little choice but to follow, yet he and she are led to believe that they have democratically empowered the elected leader with their mandate, when in fact the voters are only given the chance to endorse the choice of political parties. (Note: I had hugely over praised the virtues of democracy in my presentation to Deng Xiao Ping in 1989 because I had urgently hoped to impress him to open up China with bolder steps and to make friends. It was during those very difficult days when many leaders in Beijing were definitely still very hesitant. Now 15 years have passed and a new situation is at hand, so a detailed analysis is due!)...

Of course, there are also some nations, which due to wars or other violent social changes, have not yet consolidated into a bi-party formation. These nations have electoral systems, which entail multiple numbers of candidates. Some of them, like Afghanistan, have over 50,000 electoral candidates (unless I have misheard it). It becomes impossible for the electorates to count, let alone to choose a desirable candidate to govern their nation. In Iraq, bombs were blasting away daily while election was taking place. But the newly fated Afghan and Iraqi people now are informed that they are electing their leader under democracy. These lands do have different cultural backgrounds compared with western democratic nations. Their experiment in adopting western democratic system could prove whether the attempt would bring happiness or sorry. For the nations or governments, especially those whose cultural backgrounds are different, that are interested in adopting western democracy, there is no better opportunity than waiting and seeing the final outcome of these Afghan and Iraqi experiments say in next 5 to 10 years time.. So, what's the hurry to jump into untested territories?  Let's hope, for their sake, that all the people in Afghanistan and Iraq are happy with it, and there would be no more insurgencies, or social and political unrest, because if people are not happy, then bloody conflicts could persist and reverberate for years to come, and affect the entire world...

On 20th Sept 2005, German general election ended in a deadlock, when the two major parties could not reach the electoral majority. If a third party agrees to form a coalition, it would defy the aspiration of electing the best and unified leadership, only to settle for a joint venture with separate political policies whose political aims are different. Besides, each of the two major parties may yet succeed in forming the coalition with a third party to govern the land, or to break up the agreed coalition any time the policies don't agree. Therefore such coalition already plunges the nation into uncertain future leadership. A solid and predictable German leadership could spell stability for the entire European Union and its economy, leading to stability in the world. But this too is the result of the so called Democracy. This is also why the multi-party system will eventually evolve to become a bi-party system, and once a political party is formed, the final outcome of making decisions must belong to party politics... In fact, the ideal of democracy is perfectly and intrinsically righteous and natural. It is also in tune with Chinese civilization. The troubles begin only when the political parties emerge. That's when organized power struggle begins. Loyalty to the party destroys the original intent of democracy. One needs only to switch on the radio and almost immediately somewhere in the world power struggles between parties, disputes, corruptions and election frauds are being reported. Even under the traditional rule of a monarchy, although long out of date, common people enjoy more peace and stability. At least they know who the next dominion would be and what he is like. But under electoral system nowadays, the elected leader is always an unknown quantity.

For instance, Haiti's democratically elected President was ousted and forced into exile. Ukraine's democratic election result was over turned and re-election was necessary. Liberia's elected President was forced to step down.  In the Philippines, people try to impeach their elected President for election frauds. On Nov 7th 2005 news reported Azerbaijan's election was not up to standard and would require reelection, etc., etc.....  The above examples are occurrences of the most recent time, which indicate that democratic election could even be a source of trouble and instability, a reason to be cautious and concerned. If that's the case, then why insist on such traditional democratic election? Social conditions and political structures have changed so much since ancient Greek time, and yet the principle of democracy still has not yet reached near optimum representation.

Other parts of the world have totally different cultural background and experiences. Nature's evolution requires always right timing and suitable social conditions in order to evolve correctly. Super imposition of political system that originates from untested tradition or that requires military intervention is not democracy. So, if nothing is perfect then why not reach out for a better 21st century solution, i.e. a combined system I have earlier referred to. After all, everybody ultimately desires to elect a leader with best possible quality and predictability of performance. Chinese people have thousands of years of peaceful social philosophy and a traditional need of wise and non-confrontational leadership. Why should any one want to uproot thousands of years of good tradition and deliberately turn it into political uncertainty or changing party rules once every few years? What good could it do to the rest of world, if a quarter of humanity is turned from declared peaceful intent into unknown political leadership, and peaceful national development also turned into political instability once every few years?

Now, suddenly man finds himself in the middle of a nuclear age. More and more mineral oils supplies are becoming short in supply and therefore more expensive. Nuclear power stations are increasing in numbers and more fission materials are being produced by the minute. This means nuclear materials are being piled up in big and small countries, and before long, say in 20 years from now, the world will be over stocked with bomb materials. Small or tiny quantities could be purchased and hidden underground, by putting them together they can amount to very big quantity of bombs, but no one can dig every inch of land to inspect the hidden stock. Nuclear proliferation control can only be effective if all men demonstrate complete trust and good will, and national safety is truly ascertained, not just by the will of one party alone, nor by any means of international agreements. Yet, there seems to be no lack of leaders who don't mind using force and threat to create tension and start off arms race. Privatized arms makers are shipping out more deadlier weapons by the minute. There seems also to be unlimited supply of individual who are willing to give their own lives just to show their extreme hatred. The continued burning of fossil fuels must result in environmental pollution and global warming, which in turn must force the deployment of nuclear energy. Someday very soon, when there are enough power stations around, underworld cartels would certainly not mind trafficking uranium and plutonium bomb materials just as they are doing with drugs.

But that's not all, modern conventional weapons are no less deadly and kill just as indiscriminately. It's so easy to push a button from an aircraft and bombs are away to blow up houses and people miles below, including harmless women and children. It is equally easy just to sit in the safety of an armored vehicle to cannon fellow mankind. National leader, generals and admirals can kill lots more by a simple telephone call. All of these things can only create more and more suicidal terrorists simply because they have no such modern weapons but they do have their life to give, which also means that sooner or later they must and would acquire the mass destructive weapons by hook or by crook, which otherwise they would not have the need or even to think of acquiring.... In short, in the age of nuclear weapons, everybody is thinking of nuclear weapons, unless true intent of peace is not only declared but also demonstrated. What good would international treaties do, if your own people are under the threat of annihilation? Most people still do not realize that continued animosity could trigger off annihilation of a sizeable community, which could come at dead of night, or in busiest time of day...

It all boils down to one thing only. It's about time to wake up, instead of generating more animosity, because the alarms are ringing. This is not the Roman Empire time, nor the Medieval Age any more, it is now the Nuclear Age or the Space Age. Perhaps it is the age of suicidal bombers, or worse still, suicidal politicians, some suicidal students (Beijing), also suicidal stone throwing kids (Gaza kids), suicidal leaders (e.g. Saddam Hussein and others), suicidal planes of Sept 11th 2001(New York) under some sort of unprecedented suicidal plots ( the biggest and most organized suicidal plot in aviation history against the biggest military power by a small and unregimented band of "Terrorists" or "Mountain Goats" whose means of transport is a walking stick ), hundreds of individual suicidal bombers (everywhere), suicidal soldiers (died or injured for no sufficient cause), suicidal priests (gay), suicidal weapon merchants, suicidal whales, and the age of global suicide brought on by the over manufacture and proliferation of all types of weapons (including nuclear weapons), because weapons are made for wars, if not for today, it will be used tomorrow, or to be spread around other human communities through sales or for political purposes... (Perhaps it's high time for the rest of the world who are still sane and still want to survive to wake up and say or do something for their own sake. I do!  Freedom and Human Rights should be achieved, but it's for the poor, the needy and the hopeless who are trapped and cannot have them, and not the bosses and the powerful who already have plenty and yet still cannot have enough. Also, when much of the world has gone suicidal, it's time for the remaining world to know that something has gone badly wrong, and therefore say something about it too!)

So whose parents or children would be victims or turn into bombers either from the air or on the ground? Nobody makes weapons for purpose of rusting away. When you make weapons, you make war. That's why I hinted that there should be a total re-thinking in politics and in political systems. There should urgently be a study and discussion in the United Nations, not only to prevent the nuclear proliferation, but also how to restructure the political systems to safe guard the innocent people and the population of all nations. There should also be an impartial study as to how long it might take for the increasing stock of both nuclear and conventional weapons to eventually trigger the explosion of third world war. Perhaps it's high time to set up a special academic group in the United Nations to debate and define the meanings of not just "True Terrorism" but also "True Democracy", as well as "True Human Rights", even "True Freedom". Sometimes freedom simply means that masters are justified to dominate as they want, and slaves are free to suffer as they wish. O.K. Even debates cannot reach universal agreement, at least such debates would heighten universal awareness and universal understanding towards these important issues, which could otherwise be gregarious slogans and pretext for wars easily. Indeed, there should also be a global awareness of the pros and cons of democracy or any other systems that could produce proper human leadership and effective prevention of nuclear war. ..

This situation precipitates out of the simple fact that democracy has failed to produce humane leadership, nor did it prevent any wars during the last century and beyond. In fact, the neglect of humane quality as a base of leadership as well as the struggles and fluctuations of different party policies tend to inflame and promote more human conflicts and wars. It was the democratic nations that stated the 1st and 2nd world wars and brought human kind towards nuclear annihilation. It's now the duty of every man and woman on earth to suggest and propose possible alternative future political system, especially if nuclear proliferation cannot be effectively controlled. The possibility of nuclear war is already far too late to be halted in view of the need of nuclear energy in the foreseeable future and the simplicity of technology as well as the ease to hide nuclear bomb materials.  If the ambitions and lust for power of politicians and if individual fighters who are willing to blow themselves up (terrorists if you will) cannot be stopped, then it's time to realize something is badly wrong about human politics? One next dirty nuclear bomb will lead to thousands more. The human politicians and power holders (not little individual citizens) have chosen all by themselves to reach the end of the road. Don't you think it's reason enough to examine what causes wars. Is it the human nature, which is still raw (after only some 150 generations of civilized evolution) or is it the political systems? Whatever it is, it's time that every human on earth should know about it.

What's more! There shouldn't be any reason that one nation should be allowed to dictate or interfere another nation's efforts to build their own systems based on their ancestral backgrounds, or just new experiments. To super-impose unfamiliar ideas, customs or traditions on other's head is not the purpose of democracy, and to inhibit experiments or search for solutions is to stop progress for the next generations. So what can the individual owners of this planet propose to do? I would be inclined to propose the following two directions, but of course, these are only my own thoughts:- The easiest way is to elect a leader with wisdom, experience, known performance, strength and, above all, humane qualities. But how? To judge such multiple qualities of a possible Head of Government requires the qualities and experience of a large, but not confusingly huge, committee of electorates who represent people in different constituencies, also more importantly who must represent the responsibility, experience and trust of people. Through the wisdom, experience and responsibility of these responsible electorates a national leader of appropriate quality may be ensured and therefore elected. This committee and its functions may therefore consist of members from the following sources.

Firstly, people's representative directly elected by people of different districts or constitutions. These representatives must then be responsible for the daily intercourse with the grass roots of those constituencies. Secondly, government departmental heads whose trust is already established through their daily interactions with the entire citizenry, because if they do not perform, they wouldn't be on the job. These representatives of the government are extremely important because they know the business and problems of governance. Thirdly, the representatives of specialized social sectors, such as respectful social leaders from the business communities, or social workers, educational or legal sectors, including one representative from each religion. A specialized governmental department responsible for constitutional development should be established to study and propose the inclusion or dismissal of members of the specialized sectors and the final electoral committee, the decisions of which may be vetoed by a governmental cabinet or the presiding Head of Government.

The main aspiration of the above proposal is to achieve an improved democratic representation for the people with emphasis on quality, wisdom and experience during the whole process of passing political power. By this process the power politics, the inflammatory influence and organized fluctuations of political parties are not eliminated but minimized. The economic, political life of a society may stabilized and continue to prosper without large fluctuations. Quality of leadership of course produces quality decisions and therefore minimize the mistakes of human conflicts and wars. Then lastly, the system may still be put under universal suffrage, but only if absolutely necessary, for approval of a single Head of Government or two candidates for general election to give a Head and a Deputy Head of Government.

In the meantime, all people in each nation should also take part in the discussion of what could be the best political system for their own future. I cannot over emphasize this point, because unless a general understanding and willing consent are reached by the entire people of the land, it could provide political activists ammunitions to start off a violent revolution in political systems across the world. As it already happens what sounds good in name is not good enough in essence. An electoral system with two fixed candidates only should be called "anti-democracy", and not "democracy". Of course everything changes with time, ancient traditions of Greek or Rome won't do any more for our nuclear and space age.. Indeed time and environments do change everything, not just for the nations without the so termed democratic traditions, but also for those with such historic backgrounds. The courage to change for the better should be a virtue and not a shame for people of all systems and nations. It is a terrible mistake not to develop a true democratic political system in ones own nation. It is a greater mistake to superimpose ones own imperfect system onto other traditional systems that are different but developed over millenniums. It is even a crime against fellow nations and fellow humans by interfering their efforts in developing new systems suitable for the nuclear age. It is certainly not a reason to cause confusions, unrest or ideological conflicts in someone else's home countries that do not practice your preferred system, no matter your system is truly democratic or not!

I wouldn't be writing this, if I didn't see the necessity of true quality and wisdom of future leaders. The intent or endeavor to install ones own political life into other people's traditions may be graded into two sources. One is out of pure friendship and good will. In which case, a suggestion should be welcome but certainly not one sided insistence. The other possibility is out of ulterior purposes, which would lead to interior war, then exterior wars, then coalition of war and finally nuclear war (remembering the last two world wars were started by much less important reasons)... Here I am not referring to any particular incidence, past or present, or pointing a finger at any particular nations. What I am referring to is the general situation which will affect every single life on earth, including the future generations... I am not saying this because I belong to any political entity or affiliation... I don't!...  All I want to do is to show the importance of leadership quality, and how for many thousands of years Chinese people have regarded its importance. Also how and why they might choose to deal with it... And in particular, I cannot emphasize enough that we have suddenly arrived at the age of nuclear weapons, the bombs cannot decide to explode and kill people by themselves, it's the human leaders who will do it. So which of your elected leader is likely to do it?..  In the up coming passages I shall tell you the story about Chinese tradition and considerations for the importance of leadership quality, also how and why China has never invaded any nations, nor conquered any colonies, nor practiced slavery and so on... despite she had all the man power and the tools to do it...

So, in conclusion, humane quality, proven qualification and past performance of leadership with predictable policies, cautious nature and virtuous characters must be the true criterion of choice from the grass root level. In the coming two or three generations, such leadership will urgently become the safeguard for individual aspirations, national security, as well as for the fate of the human kind...

" In the recent years, because of the historic change-hand in Hong Kong, the orders of the society are beginning to change. It’s bound to affect general morale. Responsible politicians should have long prepared to encourage and raise the standards of morale, in order to compliment the impending social change for the good of all. Sadly, in Hong Kong there is a small percentage people who prefer to pour oil on the fire, as though the society won't be unstable enough after the change hand. So, in the end, if all good men lose faith and run away, leaving only the bad eggs and the fools. It’s bound to create problems beyond the predictable. If the “ One Country Two System “ is going to work in success and stability, enabling the Chinese people to march in unison with all nations of the world, and to develop peaceful economical stability, then China, Hong Kong and Taiwan must maintain the present status quo and the existing peaceful balance ( Remember this was written in 1989). Any change must be rational and gradual. Should any of these three areas loses peaceful balance, it's bound to effect economical and social developments of neighboring regions with unpredictable consequence. If that happens to be the unfortunate case, then in the not so distant future, when the world and all nations of the South East Asia would have all developed economical prosperities, and become as rich as Japan now. Only the three areas of Chinese people could still be struggling ....

(Note:-  Hong Kong is merely a city or a town and not a nation. It has a small fraction of Beijing or Shanghai's population. Hong Kong's smallness was once described by a Ching Dynasty official as the size of a "Sesame Seed". Yet this Sesame Seed is running its own autonomous rule under its own steam. Of course, its self management is still brand new and has barely got started. If Hong Kong is not protected by the Mainland and by some sort of safety device of her own, this small seed with limited population and limited resources can easily suffer from vicious attacks and sustain great injuries on religious, political fronts and economical, as it had happened to Thailand's economic collapse during the Asian Economic Crisis around 1997, which should be one of the most important lessons in the recent history. In religious front, about 150 years ago during the opium wars there had been a religious revolt that caused a couple of million lives and took over 16 Chinese provinces out of a total of 28. This revolt was started by religious forces from Macaw. It is therefore critical for Hong Kong people's security and stability to bear these memories in mind and formulate a safety structure for her own protection in governmental, economical and legal systems for the future, especially in her trial stage of self government. Let me stretch it a bit!  Such future systems must have emphasis on her own vital security, stability and self preservation and not on some gregarious but unsuitable universal principles that could expose Hong Kong wide open for attacks and therefore unrest and economic crisis. If needed, a special division of intelligence, especially empowered to safeguard territorial security, similar to the CIA, or other modern security measures, already adopted by many advanced nations, should be established. Of course once safety devices are in place, then Hong Kong can afford to be more generous!...

"Safety First" is the noblest principle in life and in governance. Care for political and economical stability is the first duty for any responsible government, legal community and citizen. Who knows when and how devious plans of attack could be in the making. In short, Hong Kong is no more under the protection of political wisdom and strength of Britain, it must now be protected by her own people or by the wisdom and strength of Beijing. In particular, because Hong Kong has just experienced a huge historical change and survived Asian Economic Crisis, now she needs peace and recovery more than ever. It goes without saying, the far greater silent majority of Hong Kong people needs stability, and the business community needs peace and recovery, rather than just one sided demands based on minority party interests, which could damage her beyond repairs, or break up her traditionally peaceful social structures. Another reason is that since Hong Kong has survived all the political change and economic crisis, and she is recovering just fine!  I think for any political system or administration to survive such big change of sovereignty and Asian crisis, and still doing fine, there must be some stabilizing factors in her prevailing structures, and should be valued and protected. Then Hong Kong should not venture into uncertain territories in the development of her future constitutions, unless you want to turn known stability into unknown chaos. In fact, any political system that does not fit in well with cultural conditions is a revolution, which could bring about prolonged internal unrest and violence

So, let me elaborate. Modern technology is forever evolving and advancing. With it evolve also new modes, methods and tools of attack and invasion. At the same time, new concepts of security, defense and self protection must follow suit. Modern attack and invasion may be directed in 3 fronts. The personal front, which relates to money, personal identity, privacy, information and other matters of personal security and personal belonging. The social front, which relates to legal, political, criminal, cultural, moral and spiritual peace, harmony and other safety of social environments. And lastly, the national front, which relates directly to all means of national stability and national security. Because modern weapons have already become mass destructive, such as nuclear or germs warfare, etc., and may be delivered from space, ground surface, underwater or simply by suicidal individuals. Conventional weapons, wars and offensives are gradually becoming less effective and more prohibitive. Therefore, new methods of offense, other than direct military attacks, will gradually escalate and grow. Consequently, more stringent control and surveillance are being adopted by many major nations, which border on offence to personal freedom and privacy. Nevertheless, this trend is on the increase world wide, especially for nations or societies involved or already under attack..

[Note:- It is becoming increasingly clear that the advent of nuclear weapons is limiting the advantages of the militarily strong nations, or it will be so very soon. Yet, the global warming is forcing all nations to adopt nuclear energy, or it will be so very soon. This is the reason that many nations do not want to admit that global warming has already become an urgent matter, and nuclear energy will become a necessity. And so, in an unusual way the nuclear weapons are also protecting mankind from random wars, and as a result, it in turn drives the deployment of all sorts new offensives as well as protections.]

The easiest modern attack will begin on the personal front, where all mean of modern technologies will be used, including the Internet, the hand-held telephone and lots more later on. Nowadays, one single educated computer technician can cause a world wide havoc, perhaps bankruptcies, or amass millions of illegal dollars within a matter of minutes. Similarly, it is not impossible for a suicidal individual to carry with him a suit-case nuclear bomb. So what should the authorities do to protect the society and the nation? They must jump to act on the first available chance, or else it could be too late for thousands of lives, if not more. In fact, modern authorities must also deploy all possible preventive measures as well as all modern technologies. Therefore, preventive and protective legal concepts are also under change. Modern demands of detection are forced to become more imaginative, more thorough and penetrating that are bound to infringe personal freedom. Indeed, there is no such thing as personal freedom without national or social security, because while the society or nation is responsible to protect the individual, the individual must do his part to protect the nation and society as a whole. And while the nation strives to provide the individual maximum freedom, the individual must allow the nation to work also with some freedom for the safety of all people.  As the responsibility to protect the individual has become more massive and urgent, the discretion of the law enforcement will increase accordingly. This is a matter of demand and supply, there is nothing new in it. When security is involved, protection becomes a necessity, not a choice...

The next easy target will be the social front. This is the most involved, yet the most disturbing front, where protections cannot be easily instituted through legal or technological revenues. And therefore if no step is taken it will grow out of proportion. Social instability causes economical down turn, criminality, lawlessness and more therefore instability. When the vicious cycle reaches a point of no return, it brings forth bloodshed. Meanwhile nations are always attacking each other and forming coalitions to attack. Attacks may come as physical attack and non-physical attack. The former includes military threats and wars. The later includes political, religious, propaganda and economical attacks. The human history is full of such examples. They may begin harmlessly, but the consequence can be severe. Because it is so involved and complicated, I will not describe the details, except referring to some principles of things here... You see, what's good for Peter may not be good for Paul. If nations prefer to be run by orate making politicians rather than astute administrator or compassionate leaders, then that's their own business. But if you want what's good, you should believe in your own parents and ancestors who would never lead you astray. So, if you should see one nation sending soldiers to another, taking all the costs of blood, sweat and cash only with the intent to make that other nation nice and beautiful, then either one of the two nations is stupid, or you've got another thinking coming, because that's not the nature of politics. It has never happened before. So don't believe in what's being said, just watch what's being done.

Often there are lots of difference in what's being said or done between one country to another. As you will soon read later in this page, Chinese civilization grew within a large piece of enclosed land. A couple of thousand year ago her borders reached the enclosed limits. So, China, unlike other continents, was not exposed to open competitions or strives between civilizations. Historically China never had the ambition or interest in exterior military conquest, and she never practiced extreme inhuman rules upon her own people. As a result, although China had all the technology needed, she never invaded or devastated other lands or civilizations. Instead, she enjoyed imparting peace and knowledge to other nations. Internally, China never practiced slavery. In fact, the Chinese society was never truly ruled by any political force, she was largely governed by a cultural or philosophical force. For 2500 years all scholars were taught to bring peace and equality to the world, and for about 2000 years every Chinese official were chosen from the grass roots through series of examinations. Because old Chinese society never needed mighty military forces, her changes of dynasties were relatively bloodless. Even today common Chinese folks in the country would tell you "I old my old in order to be old, and youth my youth in order to be youth". Mutual respect for fellow humans comes natural to the Chinese mind after millenniums of traditional humane education... Such millennia old cultural life cannot be removed by any modern politics in a matter of decades, not even centuries. Modern life only affect a few large cities. Whatever "Isms" that went by in recent centuries or decades, Chinese people instinctively respect other people. This is the true Chinese heritage!... In fact, this is also a precious world heritage!... It should be well protected from invasions and aggressions of politics or politics disguised in religion. But if you do protect it and put a few law, peace or political offenders in jail, some unfriendly politicians or medias would called it against the "human rights", as if thousands of years of heritages should not be protected...

On the other hand, there are still nations that only a few short years ago have permitted legal equality to all ethnic citizens in basic political life, but not necessarily in social and economic life. It's obvious that those millennia old culture and civilization of military and religious conquest, "victory" and slavery could be equally difficult to remove in a matter of decades. Perhaps it could go on for centuries, as long as some men are free to step upon other fellow humans, or one nation is free to trample upon another nation. Such protected environment is strongly praised as "freedom", or drummed up so loud and high to show as if there is no inequality, no atrocities, no aggression and nothing against "human rights". And of course, drumming up things is not likely to be done without Freedom of Press.... This is also a world and historical heritage that would invariably be passed onto younger generations, perhaps until such heritage spreads through the entire human kind, and until every nation acquire enough nuclear materials to blow up the globe ( It's going to happen sooner or later, you know, openly or secretly, with or without the aid of global warming and the need of nuclear energy. Or, of course unless people are without feelings and loved to be trampled on ), and so until a total nuclear sort-out that could happen sometime in the present century. Judging from what's going on today, this is not just a possibility, but a certainty, unless perhaps there are miracles. Perhaps the preying instant of certain kind of animals or politicians can suddenly change over night without due and strong cause of evolution...

So, you see, that's what I mean by saying that if you want to believe in anything, then believe in your own parents and ancestors. This is also what I mean by "referring not to details, but only to the principle of things"... In short, modern life is full of temptations and persuasions. It's going to need sharp brains and tough characters, and it's up to you to choose to rise up or to fall down... And if you like Hong Kong, then use those brains and characters to support her and protect her as well!

"However, on the other hand, if these three fundamental factors, i.e. past, present and future, can maintain balance and work in peace and stability, then the resultant effect would be increase of significant natural competitions in economical and cultural developments. Then Chinese people are in luck! Should this be the case, then in the following decades, because of stimulations of competitions and multi-directional inter-courses, the developments may easily be faster than many other nations (Reflection:- Indeed, the speed of development has been phenomenal. The rapid Chinese development also helps not just Hong Kong's economy but also Taiwan and international investors). Again on the contrary, if for some unfortunate reasons political strife should occur, then it is necessary to expect at least two more generations of suffering and sacrifices. This could of course affect the Asian region and then the world. That's why stability in the next 2 to 3 decades is the key for the well being of the people in this region..

"On examining to-day’s international situations, i.e. The unification of the Western Europe; The opening of the Eastern Europe, and the momentum of developments in some South East Asian nations, it appears a world wide competition and very fast development are in the making. In this meantime, if the nation of China hopes to develop economical well being as well as an appropriate and well tested legal system that could work smoothly with international laws, she would need twenty to forty years of peace. This is the minimum period of time required to achieve it. To-day it appears that many people are intoxicated by the quick and illegal profits without thinking what the consequences might be. Also, if investment are rewarded with betrayal, the end result can only obstruct the building of a moral and lawful society as well as a healthy nation. At the end of the day, losses will easily out weigh gains (Reflection:- On Oct 22nd 1995 at UN’s 50th Anniversary, a great surge of energy was exerted by UN to put down Crimes, Drugs, Money Laundering and Terrorism. About 150 nations joined in the operation. Drug cartels king-pins (Khun Sa) in Burma and in Southern America surrendered. Corrupt Presidents of some nations were investigated. Autumn of 1996 China held the 14th nation wide Party Congress. The theme was given to “Morality”. Hong Kong Government also put up HK$ three hundred millions funds to fight drugs ….The world seems to have at last noticed the extent of crime and immorality. …Yet this has also switched on the retort from the huge under-world, whose power is deeply rooted in their markets and with protection from bad local law-enforcers as well as the legislators in some affected countries. A big fight is still on. Only days ago, June 2005, over one thousand underworld cartel criminals were rounded up in Hong Kong, Macaw and QuangDong areas..)

" I remember it was 1982 when I mentioned to you and other friends the suggestion of a 'Moral Court'. Later it was in Hai Nan Province when I heard of discussions for the establishment of something like a Moral Court. I really yearn to see, before I complete this life's journey, that it could become a world wide consideration. I also remember I have told you once that my ancestor Tsengcius [ or Zeng Tse , or  Zeng San 505 BC - 436 BC ] was the most perfect sage in the Chinese history, perhaps even the whole human history. He was so perfect that for over two thousand five hundred years the foolish Chinese people have not felt his greatness, because he gave all the credits to Confucius .(Note: Full story is in "Related Tonics" page # 6) A proven 5000 years old unbroken chain of DNA  ).  The truth is, “Ru“ principles, or Confucianism, gave Chinese people two and half millennium years the teaching of “Moral Codes“, a.s.o., which brought forth the longest duration of a glorious moral culture in China. The credits should all belong to Tsengcius. The reason is that after Confucius’s death, Tsengcius brought up and further enhanced the Confucius' young grandson, who then passed the education onto subsequent generations. It was Tsengcius whose practice of extreme moral conduct and self retrain that moved the hearts of men and women. Therefore it was Tsengcius (or Zeng Tse) who promulgated and glorified the philosophy of Confucius. Without Tsengcius, the Confucius school would have ceased to exist right after the demise of Confucius, and there would have no Confucius, nor any of the teachings of Confucius.

"History recorded that once Tsengcius’s mother received three urgent messages within the day, reporting that her son had killed someone, but the mother continued her household work in complete peace, totally unruffled by the tragic news. She knew that it could not have been her own son, even though the name was correct. She was right of course. It turned out later that the assailant was some other person with the same name. The question is:- How many mothers in this world can have such confidence in her own son to such a depth? That’s why I say that Tsengcius is the unique example of “Perfection”, because he did not claim any credit for his creation that had guided his people for about 2500 years. It is almost impossible to find a perfection in the human nature, because people who seek it are not perfect themselves. It is impossible, not because it does not exist, but because perfection exists in that completely soundless and colorless state.

Zeng Tze was revered as one of the 4 Chinese Sages (he was decreed as the "Source Sage" or the "Stem Sage" NAMES/SourceSage.jpg, because he was the stem from which Confuciusm became a national philosophy). Our Stem Sage was also deified as one of the 24 Chinese filial deities. He was so perfect that he would self examine and reflect his own conduct 3 times a day. As a result the Zeng family clan members through out history like to call their house "The House of 3 reflections". In other areas of extremes Zeng Tze credited every wisdom and honor to his master Confucius, and influenced his own disciples to do the same, thus Confucius philosophies were passed down, not written by Confucius, but by the writings of two disciples who claimed that the words came from their master, Confucius...  (Note:- The state of perfection exists only when the inner want harmonizes with nature's will. To attain that one must first understand what nature's will is. External strive or external conquest is a war with the external world, or with Nature, and its excess causes war with oneself. This is where Buddhism coincides with Confucian philosophy, because both seek inner attainment. It is also why Buddhism has existed side by side with Confucianism in China for nearly 2000 years. But it also means that inner fulfillment can never be attained by asking or praying to an external higher authority, because it is an experience, not a gift)...

Now let me get back to humanism. I remember I wrote to Prof. S.Y.Ding that the ultimate path leading to human conscience and humanitarianism is through revelation of divine nature. Divine nature, in my view, includes all physical and the meta-physical phenomena of nature. Devine nature embraces all sciences and nature's will, of which astrology stands as one of the most direct channel between human life and mother nature's performance. To reveal divine nature is to understand the ways and ultimate purpose of nature's manifestations. That's why it's divine because nature's ways are purposeful! Astrology can reveal the timing, location and nature of events, even the purpose, including complete 5-dimensions. It was one of the first of human and natural sciences, and will last as eternal as nature itself. The study of Nature's performance in relation to human life is the most intimate of all sciences. Besides, the understanding of such nature to human relationship also enable man to know and predict his fate.

The Chinese theory of Yin-Yang (or I-Ching, the Book of Change) is not only, like western astrology, a predictive tool, but also a cosmology and the principles of nature's manifestations. The theory of Yin-Yang covers the entire Chinese history and much more (7300 years in total). Many of the greatest political leaders of Chinese history were more or less knowledgeable of such science. For instance, the Yellow Emperor, who devised the first Chinese Lunar Calendar; and Emperor Yue, who understood Nature’s course and dug canals to tame floods; and of course Confucius, who recited I-Ching. There were many other later leaders, including Zhang Liang, Ziang Tai-Gong, Kong Ming (All are Chief Ministers of early Han and later Han Dynasties); Yeli Chu-Chai (Chief Minister of Yuen Dynasty); Liu Bei-Wun (Chief Minister of Ming Dynasty)... ( Chief Ministers were equivalents of today's Prime Ministers) These men were all observers of nature and connoisseurs of the cycles of Fate... In the western world there were also many great men of science who were known students of Astrology, e.g. Pythagoras, Socrates, Aristotle, Plato, Ptolemy, Copernicus, John Kepler, Galileo Galilei ... Isaac Newton, etc., etc.. These men were not only fathers of science, but they were also connoisseurs of fate. Some of these men, and many more, had found astrology in their course of search for knowledge. A few had discovered science and Astronomy through studies of Astrology. The rulers of the great civilization of Egypt, who built the Pyramids, were also known Astrologers. Also the Paganism of ancient Rome was a worship of Sun and gods of nature ).

" However, the social fate of the ancient times was much simpler. To-day, in order to glimpse the fate of a nation, it is necessary to understand also the complex cycles of the world, even the universe. Only when the ways of nature and man are understood to function together, can the fate and destiny of man be estimated, and in turn, the nations may be appropriately governed. That’s why the above mentioned leaders were also masters of fate. Because responsible leaders need to know and be guided by nature and its forces. In the old Confucian teaching, each student was educated with personal conduct, and responsibilities towards the family, the nation and even the world at large. In the olden day's politicians seem to have more interest in consulting fate. Many of them constantly reminded themselves that they were in charge of their people's fate.

These are days of nuclear weapons. Conventional weapons are no less deadly. Huge arsenals of bombs, missiles and tanks, unheard of in human history, are piling up everywhere, even private homes are piling up guns and cannon like weapons. They continue to stream out of enormous privatized factories, which support the increasingly willful political power, but moral qualities of societies and leaders are deteriorating just as fast. Putting the two phenomena together. It is not difficult to imagine the possible end. What's more! Politicians are forming groups of allies, as if they are preparing the path for greater cold or hot war, while there is no imminent dangers to be seen.... Of course, small nations are always militarily doomed and have no hope of self defense in world wars, but they find it equally tasty to join the big war parties too, as if otherwise, they might someday find themselves without a musical chair. So, eventually all other nations must form groups too for mutual protection! What does this all means? It can only mean one thing. Someday, it'd take only one leader to start it off, and soon the rest of the world will be on fire! Once it starts, international logistic of food and materials must disrupt. Global conglomerates would collapse like a pack of cards. The atmosphere will be entirely polluted. Why? Because the assembly of nuclear booms from hidden materials needs only days, and materials are not difficult to hide in small quantities. The dirtier the bomb is, the easier it is to make..

Yes, it's not the atom bombs that would one day destroy mankind. Bombs cannot fly across borders by themselves to explode and kill. It's men who make them happen.... The prevention of nuclear proliferation is just a self deceiving term, when there is no genuine and sincere desire to prevent wars. And once a real war starts, all preventive measures will collapse...

Reflections:-  At this point, let me try to relate a short but interesting history about the origin, the historic development and legacy of social political philosophy that has groomed the characteristics of the Chinese people ever since the very beginning. Of course characteristics of a people are formed and imparted by the belief and energy of the individual members of that people. Therefore this is also the story of individual belief and its 5000 year long historical background. Unfortunately this web-space is limited, I can only try to squeeze it in here as briefly as possible.

Human civilization was begun and nurtured by the flow of four greatest rivers on earth, i.e. the Nile, the Amazon, the Yellow River and the Yang Tze River. The last two great rivers are situated in China. Both Egyptian and Chinese cultures boomed and flowered suddenly around 5000 years ago. But whilst the ancient Egyptian and Inca civilizations have disappeared from history, the ancient Chinese culture continued its development and its influence till this day. There is something quite extraordinary about the ancient Chinese civilization as compared with many others, probably because its land is surrounded by Siberia, Gobi-Desert, Himalayan mountain range and by the vast ocean. So its ancient culture was developed without influence or competition from the rest of the world.... The nation of China was in fact begun by one leader who is generally referred to as "Huang-Di" NAMES/Huangdi.jpg (the Yellow Emperor). Huang-Di invented compass, defeated enemies, united tribes, then instituted governing ministries and traditions of marriage, other social customs and orders, etc... Because Huang-Di (or Huangdi) delegated men with responsibility to create written language. This is why it is generally said that China has 5000 years of (written) history. (Please read more details in "Related Topics" page # 6) A proven 5000 years old unbroken chain of DNA

Haungdi passed his rein to his off-springs for 5 generations until Di-Yau or Yau-Di (Di means Emperor) The most extraordinary deed and legacy that Di-Yau left behind was that he did not pass his reign onto his sons. Instead, he found a young man whose conducts and virtues were greatly praised among the folks. So Di-Yau brought him to the palace, where he tested the young man, trained him to be his apprentice Emperor for 3 years and finally abdicated in the favor of this young man. This young successor was Di Shun ( ). During Di Shun's reign great floods devastated the land. Tribal chiefs proposed a man named Ghun () to curb the floods. Ghun made the mistake of blocking the floods by building walls and blockages and caused more damage. He was executed for his mistakes. Ghun's son Yue  suggested digging cannels to guide the floods into sea and was given the job. Yue went to work  a few days after his marriage, and labored diligently for13 years in dangerous conditions. He successfully channeled 7 rivers into sea. In those 13 years 3 times his work brought him passed his home but he did not enter. This happened about 4200 years ago. For his dedication and achievements Di Shun made him his successor. Upon Di Shun's demise, Di Yue (or Da Yue meaning Great Yue) actually returned the crown to Di Shun's son, but people wouldn't have it. So Di-Yue was enthroned. Later because Yue's son was just as virtuous as his father, so people preferred him to succeed his father, thus began the family rule for about 500 years (until roughly the 16th century BC). This dynasty was the "Shia Dynasty", during which Yue's off-springs maintained high standard of leadership and virtues (This writer has Yue's DNA in him)... Therefore for well over 10 centuries in the earliest epic of Chinese history, people were ruled by love and respect of virtues. The stories are told in the school books through out the history.

Shia Dynasty ended the Neolithic age and begun the Bronze age. Towards the end of Shia, large quantity of bronze weapons, instruments and utensils were produced. One general in charge of military affairs, named Shang-Tong was given a fiefdom at the State of Shang. Eventually because of the military power gained through the invention of bronze weapons, Shang grew to take over the dynasty of Shia and ruled for about 300 year until 13th BC... During this period Shang's territories expanded, but had no need for emphasize of virtuous leadership. Meanwhile, together with the invention of bronze weapons came also more conflict between fiefdoms. One fiefdom named Zhou was often attacked by neighbors. Its people want to fight, but Zhou's aged leader told them that he had no wish to see people's fathers and sons killed. He then led his people to desert their home land and relocate their domicile to the remote area of Mount Ji.  Little did the old leader know that as news spread about his cared for the people, other folks far and near would render him great respect. So more and more people flocked to Zhou from other fiefdoms, causing Zhou to grow in manpower and resources. Two generations later, Zhou flourished under the leadership of "Prince Wen" and became a highly humane and organized society.

    .   .   .

Meanwhile, qualities of the Shang Dynasty's rulers deteriorated despite its military might. Its last ruler Zhouk was corrupt, immoral and indulged in drinking and personal pleasure. People from different fiefdoms asked Prince Wen to raise arms against him. Eventually it was Prince Wen's son, Prince Wu, who led the ally of 8 fiefdoms to war against Zhouk. However, the ally could only summon up some 48,000 men against Zhou;'s 750,000 soldiers. The battle lasted only less than a day. By sunset it was all over. As Prince Wu's men advanced, Zhouk's soldiers show their respect by putting down their weapons and stepped aside for Prince Wu's army to pass through. Such was the Chinese morale about the virtues or corruption of their leaders. Thus Prince Wu established the dynasty of Zhou in year 1066 BC, which lasted 845 years... .

By this time the Chinese nation had already received 2 millenniums of legacy (except the Shang period) with rulers' qualities and virtues as a principle guiding energy that cohere her leaders to her people. Such qualities include unselfishness, hardship, self-control, integrity, honesty and love of people. This is the extraordinary phenomena that I referred to earlier, which is unheard of in any ancient human community. Under Zhou's tradition over 200 autonomous fiefdoms were conferred, which later turned into competing societies and still later warring states. The combination of virtuous traditions and competitions, was what prepared the stage, called the "epic of Spring and Autumn", during which different schools of scholarly doctrines and humanistic philosophies sprouted and harvested. However, as time went on, the competition between fiefdoms turned into periodic conflicts and wars. This epic is called the "Warring States", during which politics, diplomacy as well as science of wars boomed, but the respect for Zhou's central government kept it alive, although entirely weakened.

Confucius was born between the two eras and his philosophy would later become the principle cultural energy that guided individual life and social behavior for over two millenniums and more. That is also the reason that the ancient Chinese culture continued to live and flow, while other ancient civilizations had disappeared. Of course one of the reasons was because of China's enclosed geographical location, there was no external influence, nor outside competition at all. China went on alone to develop her unique heritage until Chengis Khan's entry into China, followed by the European Industrial Revolution. The completely unprepared China was turned into periodic disruptions. However, as always, China has the know how and will to revive as soon as political powers are in the hands of peasants, coupled with quality leadership again...

This ancient philosophical force went so far and deep for so long that it had never occurred to any of the Chinese leaders that they could have invaded the north and easily wiped out the relatively handful of Mongolians or Manchurians who had presented some threat.. Instead, they constructed over 4500 miles of defensive Great Walls. This is specially true with the Emperor Qin who had built the greatest part of the Great Wall, because his mighty army had just conquered and united the whole of China. This also shows the unique characteristic of the Chinese civilization. Although at the time China had the greatest population and much more advanced know how, she had no desire for conquest beyond its natural borders. Yet, she has the super human strength to built over 4500 miles of great walls up in the ridges and clefts of icy mountain top 2000 years ago. Both national strength and technology as well as China's distaste for foreign conquest are evidenced by the existence of the Great Walls. Imagine the size of operation even if it had been just 100 miles on the ridges of mountains. Yet, history depicts that although China did not invade her northern neighbors, these neighbors brought their own home and people to join the Chinese family. Such was the humane legacy passed on by the ancestral Chinese leaders.

Another historical story that emphasizes the humane absorption of the southern provinces (i.e. parts of today's GuanDong and FuJian provinces) into China during the 3-Kingdom epoch around the 2nd century AD. General Kung-Ming of Late-Han had captured its marauding leader Meng-Huo 7 times and released him 7 times before this marauding leader willingly capitulated and annexed his land and people into China. Then roughly a century later, there was a change of mind again, which started unrest. It was the writer's ancestor and his brother-in-law who organized a troop of volunteers (not national army) from northern China to put down the unrest. For that our ancestress was conferred the title of "Princess of Mahn". Mahn is the short name of Fu-Jian province where I was born....

Unfortunately, after the European Industrial Revolution, whilst the whole world was competing in military technology and colonialism, China was stuck with her disbelief in external conquests, and caught unprepared without a national defense, plus thousands of years of humane legacy and a couple of century of opium drug, to be followed by corrupted influence of drug related syndicates and then revolution and world wars... But the biggest failure after the 16th century was its lack of defense interests, partly because the Manchurian rulers were highly apprehensive of internal revolts. The lack of national defense is probably the biggest lesson of history for any unsuspecting and naive government on earth. Especially for the historic China, because even the tiny island nation of Japan once thought she could swallow China. Actually past enemies of China never fully understood the 5000 years of pure Chinese civilization. The real strength of that civilization is hidden in the peace loving rural grass roots, which is huge.

Once the will is found, such a practical and resourceful civilization will always recover. In the end, the test is in the maturity or resilience of a civilization and not in physical strength. However, there is no doubt that once China stands strong and well protected again, she will again find back her legacy of peace loving for the good of all. This is a culture that never marauded or invaded her neighbors. Yet she imparted wisdom, technologies and sciences to others. In the past, satellite nations, such as Afghanistan, were called Chinese "Protectorates", never Chinese "Colonies".  Now in modern age, all the more she has no reason to attack any one, although she must learn the lessons of self defense. As the whole human race has arrived at the nuclear age, let's all hope that the world would come to realize that the age of slavery, colonialism and military supremacy are over... Scientific space age has arrived in our living room, we have therefore greater and better challenge ahead to channel out urge, our energy and industrial skills into!

Now let me go back a step or two into history!... Under Zhou dynasty, the humane policy of the central government continued, so life stabilized, prospered, and population grew. Social system became complex. Gradually Chinese culture shifted towards the individuals developments, but still based on the legacy (by now already two millenniums) of emphasis on virtuous qualities. Zhou also expanded the system of fiefdoms and bestowed over 200 autonomous domains. As a result all walks of knowledge grew out of the fiefdoms and flourished. Music, art, literature, science, especially philosophy of human relationship and human to nature relationship boomed. I-Ching, which is the earliest theory of cosmology reached its final form in Zhou dynasty. Among many schools of philosophy the most important was the teaching of Ru, i.e. Confucian school of philosophy.... But after centuries of autonomous rule in the fiefdoms, the central government slowly weakened and strong competitions in so many fiefdoms grew. Chinese history entered the period called "Spring and Autumn", signifying emergence and maturity of many new ideas, which lasted about 250 years. Finally wars broke out between the fiefdoms. This was the period called "Warring States", which lasted also almost 2 centuries. Yet, because the emphasis of Chinese civilization through its entire history was always based on virtuous leadership and proper conduct of the individuals, despite the tumults of Warring States, the search of virtuous qualities never stopped. Numerous heroic tales and extremely humane deeds or self-sacrifices have been recorded during this period..

Now let me hasten to draw a conclusion to this introduction of early culture in China. I only want to show the roots of Chinese civilization, which are so strong and deep that they still live and penetrate after 5000 years. Although I need to give the backgrounds, I really do not want to describe the entire history. So, I will quickly sum up... The tumults of Warring State was put to end by strong man Qin-Si-Huang who conquered all the fiefdoms and united China (recent exposure of his tomb unearthed over 8000 man sized terracotta soldiers). However, after so many centuries of separate development in over 200 autonomous regions, suddenly Qin needed badly unification and centralization of everything. This included governing structures, laws, units of measurements, currency, even the written language, etc., etc.. But it just simply couldn't be done. So extremely harsh and oppressive measures were taken. Numerous people or law offenders were sent to build the Great Walls. Qin became the valiant and tyrant of Chinese history. The Chinese people accepted only virtuous rulers, consequently Qin's dynasty lasted barely 15 years when peasants rose against his heir from everywhere.

Amongst the peasant leaders, one man, names Liu Ban, succeeded and established "Hahn" dynasty. However, by this time Qin's harsh measure of unification had taken much effect. This turned out to be a great contribution to the unification of Chinese culture. So Hahn was able to relaxed control and practiced a humane system again. The new measure was called "Wu-Wui" , meaning "none-interference", or "Freedom". So, Chinese society enjoyed freedom once again and Chinese arts and literatures flourished once more. Confucian philosophy, which had been the media that regulated social and family relationship, now played the center stage. This went on until a peak was reached at the end of the 13th century AD when literatures and arts reached historical peak. This was the Sung Dynasty. Then came suddenly Genghis Khan who had learned so much from his conquests in Europe. Genghis Khan found it so good in China that he abandoned all his conquest in the West and settled down in China. China was then so rich and prosperous in living standard as well as philosophy that Kahn immediately became melted down in its wakes. The conqueror had preferred to be conquered, because he annexed his own country to China and became a Chinese and forgot entirely about Europe (only in 1929 the outer part of Mongolia became independent ). This was the "Yuen" dynasty. However, this dynasty also lasted only 88 years, following which it was again taken over by peasant revolt. Once more, because Genghis Khan and his heirs did not know how to be virtuous and satisfy the cultural demand... Peasants and philosophers, but not aristocrats, nor military heroics, have always been the life force in China...

After Yuen came Ming dynasty. Ming dynasty quickly rebuilt and enjoyed another period of boom, the present Palace of Forbidden City in Beijing was built during Ming dynasty. Ming dynasty rebuilt the Great Walls and felt safe again but did not have the ambition to invade or take over the North Eastern Manchuria. Sometime in the height of Ming period one Admiral named "Zheng He" sailed around the world 7 times with an ocean going fleet of 280.vessels, but did not even think of colonizing any of the land he had explored. This was well before Colombus. At the end of Ming one general staged a coup by bringing Manchurian army into northern China. Manchuria was just north of  Peking (now Beijing). So without much damage Yuen dynasty was replaced by Ching dynasty. Unfortunately, the Manchurians were apprehensive of the potentials of Chinese culture and possibilities of internal revolts. They instituted measures to diversify the Chinese energy by introducing a school of exam subjects, called "Ba Goo Wen" AFA_Images/BaaGuWen.jpg, with which all national governing officials were chosen. These subjects were extremely useless and restrictive to inventiveness and aggression. In time, Chinese scholars would become indulged in useless literally pursuits and turned themselves into "book worms". Then they also introduced of Pig Tails for men, and Bound Feet for women, etc.. In short, the system was intended to avoid internal revolt, but it was also perfect for foreign invasions... Still, Ching Dynasty during the 18th century did enjoy half a century of stability and well being under the reign of Emperor Chin-Lung.

(Reflection:- In retrospection, for about half a century from late 19th century to end of Second World War, China having been through 267 years of Manchurian dynasty, through Ba Goo Wen, through pig-tail and bound feet, through some 200 years of massive opium drugs, through opium wars, other foreign invasions, Japanese invasion, First and Second World War... etc., her glorious civilization had been badly plundered, and for quite a while, the country had fallen into the hands between the underworld, drug-lords and the angry patriots and revolutionists. She had become something like a large private garden, once glorious, but now ruined by calamitous natural disasters and laid wasted in hopelessness. A strong hand was needed to clean it up.

This, Mao Tze Tung and his colleagues did. Mao was not an ordinary man. One can easily see from the extraordinary quality in his writings and in his talented calligraphy. But if Mao didn't do it, someone else would have come forth to do it. China did not invent printing press for nothing, there have been always plenty of unusually talented men in China, even over 4000 years ago, because Chinese people never like muscle powers, they like brain powers... It would take a unusual talent to call an epic of life "Cultural Revolution" and yet there was no culture involved, just shutting up doors and windows, lest outside people hear it or see it, and then wait patiently for 2 whole generations of life to pass by. There were no massive bloodsheds, no aristocratic heads rolling off the guillotines, just some hard educations, sufficient but none too much. It had to take patience and time to get rid of all the old book worms, the bound feet, the pig-tails, the opium smokes, and the gun smokes.... But now looking back, it was a "Cultural Revolution" after all.... The door and windows are opened again, starting in Shen-Zhen since 1984, and behold...  Alas! what new heads there are now! The culture has been modernized during the closed door period. Where has the "Sick Man of East Asia" gone? The underworld and the opium smokes are no more too. People are interested in Olympic sports now...

In another setting or another historical time, a leader in power might have thought to himself  "I have 4 times the people of United States, why not stage some strong excuses and start some wars, or conquer a few weaker nations. Even if I'd lose a 1/4 of people, I would still have 3 times the size of US. At least I would leave my foot print in history, and be remembered as a great warrior, or perhaps a great conqueror. Why lead such a massive humanity through poverty and through such difficult terrains ahead?"... But that would be quite un-Chinese! You see, thousands of years ago, China had first the horse stirrup, the gun power and the campus, they could have gone anyway and take any nation or made any numbers of slaves, yet long since 2500 years ago the Chinese people were already teaching their children about world peace and equality, and they have kept the idea till today....

So, not so long ago the Chinese leaders said to themselves "Let's set the examples and lead our people to give birth to one child only", and they went on and did it!... Now, after not even two decades of opening doors and windows, the resources are booming. There are bound to be new social inequalities in wealth and in power. New challenges are looming high. Perhaps the party members are about to say to themselves "We have been through the roughest and unspeakable terrains and have overcome them. Let's now set some new examples of self restrain or self sacrifice". So that poor old farmers and people of the remote western regions can share the new resources and enjoy a real 21st century national life... Indeed, If humans can say to themselves " we can restrain out instinct of reproduction for the good of all ", then they can do just about anything...

Another thing I might as well mention. Today's Chinese leadership is a joint leadership. That is to say the power and responsibility of the national fate and people's livelihood are not centered on one personal leadership alone. Unlike the Western democracy where a leader is given such concentrated power, influence and authorities that he or she can cause a war that could easily lead to nuclear world war. And yet, such a leader is elected by popularity contest. One of these days popularity contest could put a comedian in charge not only of national fate, but also the fate of the entire human world. A human world that has barely less than 200 generations of life in civilization, but the modern weapons are already so very destructive. Don't forget, where there is will, there is way. Today's nuclear technology can be reached by any nation within 20 years, as long as there is a will or a need for it....     End of Reflection)

The main reason was that this scholastic exams by which government officials were qualified and selected, thus effectively making China a democratic land. Of course, the Ching imperial court had to do it because the qualified Manchurian nobilities were simply far too few and unqualified to rule the enormous population of China and her vast reserve of traditional humanistic culture accumulated over thousands of years of development. Any way, at Chin-Lung's demise, opium, which was unfamiliar to China, flooded the land from the British East India Co. Of course, there was nothing more powerful and diminishing than narcotics. As a result the entire Chinese nation was helplessly weakened by the unforgiving opium. The weakening process persisted for more than 2 centuries. So, in a nut shell, from the 16th century onwards China never had the chance to recover fully her well tested culture heritage... But her recovery is inevitable without doubt, because the memory of past success is living in all Chinese mind and heart. And the so called "Sick man of East Asia" is at last in health again... Still, China has never yet learned the need to attack or invade others, although I do believe that she has already learned about the importance of national defense.

In the Chinese context, the term "Civilization" is expressed in two words "Wen Fa". "Wen" alone means "literatures, learning, education, culture, refinement, peace and gentleness, etc.", and "Fa" alone means "to become". The opposite of that would be "Wu Fa". It would mean "to become armed" or to "become war or combat loving". In the 19th century the European military expansion reached historic peak, whilst China's national strength plunged to historic rock bottom. The 19th century and the early part of the 20th century was the worst and most rotten period in the whole of Chinese history. The imperial Chinese pride themselves as "Wen Fa" people and completely neglected "Wu Fa".  In fact, they looked down on it. Intellectuals were drown in the useless subjects of Ba-Gu-Wen, in order to pass exams and become "Exam Raised" officials. Opium was burning the entire country like wild fires. The government was run by one ignorant old lady, the Empress Dowager Chi Shi, grand mother of a child emperor. The country was invaded by coalition of 8 nations from Europe and America. A Christian revolt ravaged more than half of total Chinese provinces... Nothing could have been worse! But you know what? China survived everything thrown at her. She remain intact, because of her long millenniums of humane culture. It was quite impossible to overwhelm or overcome or plunder China. But it is so easy to revitalize her civilization once the right kind of leaders are in charge again. All because she has an impregnable and inwardly coherent cultural energy....

Through out Chinese history, the great deeds of Huangdi, Di Yau, Di Shun, Da Yue, the rulers of Zhou and successions of other virtuous rulers had deeply implanted their qualities and legacy in the Chinese mind. This cultural force was so successful that it also became a strong influence on Japanese and Korean traditional culture and the grooming of the individual characters. In fact, it is still alive and active in the majority of rural communities of those 3 nations. Through out Chinese history only virtuous and patriotic rulerships lasted many centuries in their respective dynasties. Corrupt or violent rulerships were always rejected quickly. After the era of Industrial Revolution, it is inevitable that the once closed China should open up to accommodate the changes in the world and in herself. It is reasonable that it should take at least the length of an average dynasty, say 300 years.

In the Chinese experience, this is just one of those periods of transaction. The Chinese nature for want of human virtue and her knowledge of physical and metaphysical interaction with nature are just as deeply implanted in Chinese mind as any political or religious forces have done for the Western civilization. This characteristic will always rematerialize as it had done so many times through out 5000 years of test and evolution. Because once you have experienced what's preciously humane you will always want to have it and never let go! Unfortunately, the energy that drives the modern society are primarily centered on sciences of wars and dominating politics, and not of true humane philosophy and morality, therefore, in that respect, the modern world has little to teach the treasured Chinese experience. Perhaps someday when such modern political civilization reaches its maximum expressions, it would either destroy the world or it must reach a state of saturation and allow the Chinese experience to revitalize and express its influence...

Historically, the energy and strength to revitalize humane culture somehow rest in the rural communities. Whenever it is needed some unknown leaders will always surface directly from the grass roots, and the combined force of the individual in search of what's humane cannot be hindered. Such corrective and humane forces cannot easily occur in countries that are effectively controlled by collective power of political parties. If such countries have only two parties whose political policies are somewhat similar, then the grass roots have little means to correct the policies. However, in the Chinese rural communities such individual will energy has always been enormous, because the Chinese population is huge. This cultural demand of humane leadership is deeply implanted over the whole length of Chinese history. Perhaps this is the fundamental reason that Chinese people (including Hong Kong) will always choose their leaders from a stand point of genuine quality, far removed from any political maneuvers or propagandas. In the age of massive destruction, it becomes necessary that the political mandate should only be given to humane leadership that is more likely not to abuse the power, because it's the politicians whose fingers are on the trigger of those bombs. So take your pick, which needs more control, men or weapons?

Such a morale is fundamentally and traditionally part of Chinese culture, irrespective of any transitional governments or dynasties.. It is a practice, completely unrelated to any gregarious political or military achievements! If well over 4000 years ago, emperors like Di Yau, Di Shun, etc., could pass power onto virtuous men, instead of their own children, and if for over 4000 years the tradition of love and respect for virtuous leaders are praised and wanted, then this legacy makes it impossible for leaders to be chosen from an unknown and untested quality, at least for long. After Confucius (ca 2500 years ago) the emphasis was even more centered on individual humane quality rather than organized political power or strength. Every single educated individual in China was required to exercise self conditioning, or self improvement and self grooming before he could govern and lead towards peace in the world. This probably is the reason why ancient Chinese culture still lives in the thoughts and actions of her people while other ancient cultures had become distant memories of history. Confucius ideals were the main guiding cultural energy until very recent times. It was the crystallization of the first half of the 5000 years of humane culture, but it governed the thoughts of Chinese scholars for another 2500 years until very recent time. Perhaps we should take a brief look into what they are. The following is a summary of Confucius teaching:-

Analysis of matters AFA_Images/GakMat.jpg; ->Search for knowledge AFA_Images/jiji.jpg; -> Improvements through self conditioning ; -> Coalescence of family life   ; -> Governing the nation ; and -> ultimately the responsibility for common peace and equality of the world .

Notice every scholar was charged with self-conditioning, self conscience, self alignment with society and the ultimate aim was peace and equality of the world (more detailed explanations are in the last part, towards the end of the 2nd letter). The beauty of past Confucian society was that it was never ruled by legal stipulations, nor by religious power, for about 2000 years, China was ruled, or rather regulated, by self awareness and the philosophy of nature's and human evolution. Unfortunately, such social philosophy could only flourish when there was only peace and completely free of external disturbances. That's why Chinese civilization was able to develop along the path of humane principles in peace from some 5000 years ago until its peak was reached around 1200 year ago (The Sung Dynasty), then the first major external disturbance came in the name of Kublai Kahn. Following Kublai Kahn there came a succession of other disturbances.

The ancient Chinese civilization left to her offspring today no super massive churches because ancient Chinese never ruled by undisputable powers of the gods. The ancient Chinese civilization left no super massive burial structures, perhaps with the exception of one that was recently unearthed to contain some 8000 terracotta soldiers, the remainder of the tomb is still preserved and unknown. There was no super luxurious palaces, although the Beijing Forbidden City is big, because the nation and population were large, but the palace was not built elaborately, nor luxuriously. Ancient China left her people no sculptures of war heroes or great emperors because Confucian culture emphasized humbleness. All these portray that Chinese ancient leaders never glorified or used the absolute powers and authorities of godly or personal might. It simply would not go harmoniously with rule by humane and conscientious philosophy. But ancient China did build a massive defensive wall to protect her people. All other numerous relics, such as fine bronze wares, delicate china wares, silk wares, porcelain wares etc., etc., were all household artistic and cultural products designed for use by kings and common folks alike. Ancient China had had other great wisdom of nature and scientific know how, which she un-jealously impart to other nations without imposing any demands by force or intimidation. Today, China still remains and retains this tradition and heritage. But, this is not just Chinese heritage, it is also a precious world heritage!

It is justifiable to describe that Confucian philosophy was the direct result of a gradual development of early human ideals of democracy, which was begun since the earliest days of Chinese history over 2000 years before Confucius. It was the tradition that emperor Di-Yau plugged young Shun out of common folks, and because he valued Shun's (or Di-Shun) qualities, trained and educated him to be a potential successor, then finally abdicated in his favor. This legacy was passed on from Di-Shun to Da-Yue (or Di-Yue) who curbed the great floods and channeled the rivers into sea. Di-Yue then wanted to passed on the same legacy further, but was requested by people to give it to his own son because his son also the had the admired qualities. It was the impact of such wise and unselfish conducts of early emperors that would in time develop into a detailed philosophy as described by Confucius. The impact was so great that the legacy would be praised and exalted through out 5000 years of Chinese history. Even today every school kids knows the story at heart. Without doubt this was the earliest democratic ideal of rule ever existed in human history. However, the legacy continued to pass on only as a philosophy, lived and followed by emperors and commoners alike. As a philosophy, it existed without fixed structures for almost another millennium until Tang Dynasty.

The rulers of Tang dynasty turn this achievement of civilization into a political practice with a structure that may be called the only true democracy ever existed on earth. Yet because of the long past history and its philosophical background, it became so natural and so popular that Chinese people still treated as part of Chinese culture and not a political infra-structure. Anyway, from Tang Dynasty onwards, each scholar, having passed school tests, but only the first 3 top grades students, may enter the Exams instituted by the State, whereby officials were chosen to govern the land. Different levels of officials are qualified under advancing grades of exams at the Home Exams or Town Exams, County or Provincial Exams, and State or Capital Exams. Subjects involved were history, law, literature and mathematics, etc., and of course a participant would also be required to express his view by writing an essay on philosophy of governance. The system was called "Ke Jue"  AFA_Images/ExamRaised.jpg meaning "Raised or Chosen by Exam". It existed since Tang dynasty (618 AD) with some variance until the last dynasty, which ended in 1911 (more details in Second Letter). Let me repeat, this was the only true democracy (overseen by a monarch) ever existed on earth, which had been successful, loved, praised and respected by Chinese people and lasted through early history to modern days. There had never been any known disputes about its democratic execution...

Since China never knew any other system or rivalries why should Chinese people emphasize it with the name Democracy? It was just something that has always existed in the land and in Chinese blood. It has always been their cultural history and their accustomed life. It was all what they knew and what they were. In Chinese history, it was always moral quality, philosophic wisdom, practical rationality and humane conducts that ruled, never the sword, the political rhetoric, party politics and least of all, super natural divine favor. Chinese people never knew slavery. China never regarded conquest as a pride or heroism, in fact, China never invaded another country. Corrupt and immoral emperors were always revolted against often by peasants and the dynasty would then be changed by the grass roots as always. It was only after the opium drug invaded China that the system became fatally corrupted, and collapsed, which eventually badly needed some stronger measures to regroup, reorganize and revitalize as any historian cannot fail to see and agree. But the Chinese heart and brain, Chinese civilization and Chinese life can only renormalize to continue the 5000 years legacy and to contribute to mankind with those traditions of peace and mutual respect, which they want themselves. I doubt anybody can change that. It was also for those reasons and belief that I wrote this very letter to His Excellency Deng Xiao Ping

[Note: After 1911, China became a Republic, supposedly having adopted Western style democracy. But very soon after the Republic was established civil war began, which cost hundreds of thousands of lives, as one party tried to annihilate another, only to failed in regret and in great bitterness. It is interesting and ironic to note that in recent years there are again rather violent demands both in China and in Hong Kong for Western style democracy, while the present Hong Kong government is trying to improve the model generally used in the West by making a wider and more stable representation  It appears that a minority of Chinese people have either been dazzled by overwhelming international political rhetoric, or they have temporarily forgotten how good their own heritage had been, and so still want to repeat those regrettable past mistakes. This minority of compatriots have forgotten that nearly one and half millenniums of peaceful democratic civilization was destroyed, by external invasions and by internal political party related politics, party organized verbal and armed struggles, party generated unrests and party led civil wars....

In short, historically democracy fares well, only in times of peace and economical stability. How can democracy properly function, or even exist, when economic life or social orders are ruptured, or when there is a civil war, or when foreign soldiers occupy your land, or when organized resistance are fighting to drive off invaders and aerial bombs or roadside bombs are going off any time and any place? Once a nation is erupted by war, or revolution, it would take great determination of leaders and a lot of time and efforts to rebuild national trust, confidence, peace and economy in order to restructure a proper and stable political system. This happened to many nations after the 2nd World War

This writer wrote to Paramount leader Deng Xiao Ping in praise of Democracy, without naming what kind of democracy, at the same time also praised Confucian Philosophy without suggesting that China should practice either one of the two systems, because I understood that political initiatives depend not solely on historical backgrounds or theoretical principles, they must suit the prevalent conditions and practical requirements of the country at any given time in history as well as the external forces and political intents of the world. My hope at the time was only to reason and mediate in between (although I was not the only person trying) because there are obviously great merits in True democracy, as long as it's not just the name, but true in contents too, and as long as democracy is not an excuse to create power struggles, to cause national unrests, or to make wars (from AD 618 till 1911, China practiced True Democracy in substance but not in name and without political parties). And above all, I wrote because China needed to open up to the world, and she really needed many friends as well. ]

All what I relate above is an important part of Chinese 5000 years of culture. That's the only reason why China in her hay days did not invade her neighboring countries. Chinese naval fleet discovered the world before Columbus but the thought of colonizing any land never occurred in the Chinese mind. Historically speaking, Chinese are very particular about the quality of rulers. They classify rulers into two types, the wise and humane, or the right type is called "Shien-Juen" , the corrupted or wrong type is called "Hoon-Juen" AFA_Images/hoon-juen.jpg. The wrong type was never allowed to last long. The total span of time under the rule of the wrong type had been far less than ten percent in all 5000 years of history. Many strong and mighty cultures in the ancient world have disappeared into the background of history, but the humane culture will be forever vibrant in the human heart. The reason is obvious!

Some say "power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely".... The continuance and evolution of civilization rest not on race of arms or political domination, but on the quality of humane leadership and expressions of such qualities.  I believe this understanding will begin to demand action for change only a few short years from now, because there is a limit to things and now the limits have been reached because of world wars and the capacities of mass destruction weapons. Both man and nature demand progress in evolution and ultimate survival. Therefore the real tests will yet come! You see, not so long ago, humans kill each other with handheld weapons facing each other eye to eye. Now it is easy to kill thousands by just one telephone call from a politician, or the push of a button by an airborne soldier. But massive killing creates massive retaliations, that could not be done with a sword or just a gun. It's just as easy to wipe out a community with a handheld telephone or a distant telephone kiosk by a terrorist. The difference in weapon technologies is only a few short years apart. Yet there is no way of predicting when and how hatred might explode into actions, and you must be kidding if you say you know who is behind the action....

This has much to do with the future of the entire human race, which includes yours or mine children and grand children, because we are going to be stuck on this small planet for quite a bit yet! The recent movement of prevention for nuclear weapon proliferation sounds good, but in depth it could be quite useless. We are fooling ourselves, unless conventional weapons are also controlled. Killing always brings revenge or retaliations and killing by conventional weapons does not make it less revengeful. It's a fallacy to presume that when someone's parents or children's are killed, or a marriage broken, or a life time work destroyed, people won't seek stronger means to strike back. The prevention of nuclear bombs is in fact really the prevention of stocking up nuclear fission materials, which may be kept deep underground and remain potent and active for centuries. It is quite impossible to detect a small underground storage. In the next decades there will be so much bomb materials around that they would become cheap, and there are always underworld channels where a small quantity of bomb materials will be transacted, even if one has no facility to manufacture them oneself. All that's needed is a quick assembly and everyone can have bombs. Perhaps some nations have long anticipated and prepared for such eventualities for some decades already.

Destruction breeds destructions. Aggressions bring aggressions. He who makes wars is bringing wars into his own living room. Unless there is genuine will of peace, how can one man persuade another to give up his fight? The human can be make to slave, if he has no chance to annihilate you, but if he had, how can mere terms of agreement stop him? So, let's us together hope that the invention of atomic bomb is the beginning of the end of human atrocities.... However, atom bombs may be the reason to change, but how do the humans change?.. If you don't mind, this is laid down clearly by Confucius two and half millenniums ago. Confucius says, one should analyze matters and search for knowledge, then improve oneself through self conditioning, before one can coalesce a family, and having perfected all those preparations, then one may qualify to governing the nation, and ultimately shoulder the responsibility for peace and equality of the world.

These words contain no aggression, nor show of strength. They were followed and practiced by every scholar in China for over two thousand years. Confucius teachings were the reasons that China never wanted to conquer any nations. Confucian society was also the reason the Mongolian Genghis Khan decided to drop Europe and made China his home. It was also the same reason that both the Mongolians and the Manchurians decided to annex their home land to Chinese family, and indeed, they have enjoyed peace, equality and well being ever since. Unfortunately, it was also what caused China to be attacked by the joined forces of foreign nations during the last couple of centuries, because she was never prepared enough for defense. This is a lesson that sooner or later must be learned..

Confucius was born at a closing junction of a period in Chinese history called "Spring and Autumn" when autonomous fiefdoms in China were competing with each other. All kinds of technical innovations and humane philosophies sprouted and harvested like in Spring and Autumn. But already periodic wars were breaking out between those countries. So, it was also the over lapping beginning of a period called "Warring States" in Chinese history. The conditions at the time were indeed reminiscent to our modern days now. Confucius had therefore learned and suffered from the endless motions of social changes and took some of his students in his travels from states to states. He finally realized the importance of the analysis of logics, the individual education and self restrain, the quality of leadership, and finally, the absolute need of peace and equality for the world. We have now arrived more or less at a situation that Confucius had experienced, This school of principles was called the teaching of "Ru". Confucius passed down his teachings verbally. It was this writer's hereditary ancestor Zeng Tze who recorded and promulgated them. He took over the school, added his own theories and enforced the Confucian philosophy, for that he was hailed as the "Source Sage", meaning Zeng Tze was the source from which the Confucius teachings had begun...

In the last one and half decades, since this letter was first presented to Deng Xiao Ping, China has effected unprecedented and massive social and economical advance. This is only possible when she has the right kind of political will. But political will must have the right kind of populace to execute it in a controlled manner. And control comes from each individual's self awareness, which in turn stems from her thousands of years of culture, that has much to do with Confucian tradition, although it is not outwardly expressed. However, strong political will and tradition of rationality are not enough for her present huge forward surge into modernization. A third leg is urgently needed. This third leg is a comprehensive and modernized legal system. Only with the tripod of political will, as well as tradition of rationality and self control, together with a modern and workable legal system can her great surge forward be stabilized. That's why I mentioned earlier in this letter many years ago about Confucian philosophy and legal system 15 years ago. Therefore, I believe that the best brains in China should be already working hard to established the best legal system to safeguard her present achievements as well as her future success. Beyond that, I believe and I know that the Chinese people and the Chinese culture will not have the inclination to dominate or even to lead the world. However, some positive and benign contributions, as she had done in her past shouldn't be all that unwelcome...

Now let me finish this long reflection and get back to the letter....

"It’s been a long time since I made some Astrological forecasts for you. Unfortunately there are some predictions that I can not make them too obvious. This is mainly due to ethics and moral responsibilities. A none professional astrologer merely wishes to give indications of what's the impending. He is concerned, but must be detached (The inclusion of astrological predictions in these letters was solely for the purpose of demonstration that solar system's energies do drive human individual and social activities, and could be used to predict some patterns of events. Therefore, Halley comet's arrival could strongly upset those energies. Please also read "List of Halley comet visits and corresponding historic events)... From 1990 Jan 14th to 27th, among the circle of Chinese leadership some important and new discussions will begin. This has something to do with freedom and democracy. They are influenced by the new developments in the Eastern Europe. These ideas may become mature by early Nov. Then following steps of probing will be slowly put into ratification. Finally on Jan the 12th of 1996 hopefully a full scale confirmation may take place.

Reflection:- Jan 3rd 1990 Russia opted for Multi-Party system. Feb 4th Russian parliament discarded old Constitutions. Jan 12th 1996 British Foreign Minister Malcham Ripken celebrated conclusion of Sino-British Negotiations. In the same evening President Bush (senior) appeared in Hong Kong TV offering his personal congratulations and expressed his confidence in HK’s smooth transition and the Principle of One Country Two System. These predictions are correct to the very days.

" Next year Feb 4th till 14th and end of July an elder leader (meaning Deng Xiao Ping) must watch out for his state of mind and health. This person will yet bring China to the direction of great change. His enormous merits will be greatly recognized in the future. For more than a decade he bravely initiated the great change and open door policy in China. He led them through the most confusing time and tests between 1984 to 1986. During this period he daringly and skillfully turned the nation around. Then he thought he could march forwards in broad steps, but situations did not permit. On the contrary, situations turned disorderly, which almost lost control. Only through involuntary actions a precarious situation was averted, but already so many things have happened and much have been sacrificed. Above all, his own sacrifices were considerable and difficult to measure. This man has noble ambitions since his youthful age. He possesses high ideals and has generosity in his nature. His character is strong and direct, which does not condone devious ways. His will to change is urgent, but he is limited by facilities, by time and by political aids at this time. He is still struggling through the rocky and thorny country roads, unable to reach the open high ways. Since last Nov his spirit and health have been affected. It's time to rest a while, but international storms never stop roaring. From far and near thunders and lightening are threatening. ....What to do now? Main road is not yet within sight, is he forced to head back for the bushes?.... The people of Eastern Europe are taking great risks and jamming onto the wide and open speed ways..... It seems that not long from now this old but precious sword must be unsheathed again to cut open new paths once again and to boldly pioneer the final broader steps. He still must work hard till 1992 Spring, before he could take a snap rest. .

Reflection:- After Gulf War China recognized Israel. Deng Xiao-Ping retired to write the third Volume of his “Deng Xiao-Ping Thoughts”. Then in Jan 1992 he suddenly appeared in Shen Zhen to launch Market Economy. His words were “Open Door policies must take broader steps. Experimentations should be more brave….” (my words! see above caption). This was his last political exertion, then he finally retired from public view....

" Next year Feb the 18th, the political problems and measures of that year are activated. On/about April 13th rains and thunders come. Thus the rainy season has arrived. At this point international affairs take a turn. From the 4th of May till July the 27th the working moods of people are bothersome. Most people will find things do not go smoothly. Patience is virtue. 24th of Sept the weather turns cool, but better spirits have return. Businesses become easier. The 19th of Feb 1990 and the 4th of May, as well as 26th of July are days of possible earth quakes.

Reflection*:-  Feb 19th 1990, three Earth trembles occurred on this predicted day, i.e. Australia reported 6.5 Richter scale Earth Quake. In Japan and Hawaii volcanoes erupted. I had not checked the rest of the predicted dates. There is still no scientifically established theory on the occurrence of earthquake. My theory is based on combination of planetary motions in the solar system.

"On 3rd of May the weather turns hot. The Summer enters. There will be thick snows this winter. Next year rain and water will be particularly excessive. In the coming few years every Feb till Sept are the peaks of political activities, specially from May to beginning of Aug. Social orders everywhere are not good. I have told you long ago about the affairs of the Middle East. Well, Israel will reach internal unity. In Sept of 1993, years of strives and pressure will be over. Peace and new life will begin for them. For Hong Kong, about 4 days before the Chinese New Year most basic negotiations will be completed. From early March till early June, these are reasonably good days ( These prediction were too involved and vague, and therefore mostly unchecked)  .

Reflection:- In early Sept 1993 Israel reached decision and end of that month peace agreement was signed with Palestine in Washington. President Clinton made the announcement on White House lawn, where Itzak Rabin and Arafat shock hands. Unfortunately Rabin did not live long. The mediator King Hussein of Jordan also died. However, it appears that very soon (Autumn 2005) Ariel Sharon of Israel will carry out withdrawal from Gaza... The prediction made at end of 1989 was nevertheless accurate to the month 3 years later, i.e. Sept of 1993.

"The situations and political tendencies of the present days’ international developments are, in fact, heading for a complete re-orientation in regard to the principles of wars and politics. This re-orientation is of such unprecedented magnitude since the beginning of human history. The human race has waited this for thousands of years. It has finally arrived. The savages have all become civilized. Thousands of years of human experience tells us that all what is restrictive to human nature is also self restrictive and cannot prosper. The great nature always is in command. The human is but a passive element in that great nature. Only when the passive co-ordinates with nature’s demand can life prosper. If the reverse occurs, then there will be conflicts and destructions ... Under the warm rays of the Sun, all beings, even a single leave of a grass, will reach out to share the Sun shine and moisture. So that nature and life can both prosper. Nature's powerful drive cannot be prevented or hindered. Such is the way and force of nature. Whatever that dwells in darkness is bound to have difficulties to grow, and more over, in time it must wither ....

"During the past millenniums of human civilization, one of the greatest lesson in history is the story of the Christian world. In the 4th century, there was a Pope, called Gregory. He declared in Constantinobo, now called Istanbul, that all religious worships, other than Christianity, were deemed to be atheist. They should be prohibited and severely punished. The result was to push Europe into that dark and silent Dark Ages, which lasted for some seven hundred years. Later, it was because of the invention of printing press that brought forth the Renascence of Culture, and finally it was Martin Luther who freed Christianity from its bondages and made it possible for its growth subsequently. From those days on, the Christian Church understood the importance of the coherence of human desire and human nature, in accordance with time and location....

"Some eight hundred years ago, the printing press brought to mankind enormous enlightenments, that developed into the present height of human civilization. It was the first and greatest invention of the communication tool. To-day, the electronic Integrated Computer Chip is the second greatest invention of communication tool. It will bring to mankind once more, even a greater surge of progress in human mind and civilization. Only this time it will not need centuries to take effect, instead it will come like lightening that will impart enlightenments into each man, each family life and all societies across the world. Knowledge of cultures, trades, educations, religions, arts, politics and lots more will be taught and learned by all men in each corner of the Earth. From here on, savages are all civilized. Darkness will turn to light .....

Reflection:- This prediction was written in Dec 1989. It describes the computer " will come like lightening that will impart enlightenments into each man, each family life and all societies across the world'. Yet I believe the Internet World Wide Web (WWW) was invented only in 1993, i.e. some 3 years later.

"Thirty years from now, man will concentrate on breaking the atom to manufacture clean nuclear energy, and to protect our very own planet Earth. Great space enterprises will begin, such as landing on Mars ... More and more the Solar system and the Milky Galaxy will be explored and understood .... What’s more, there will be many international efforts for huge intercontinental constructions as well as great endeavors of advanced science and technology that have hitherto never been attempted in history.

Reflection:- Soon after this letter was written (Dec 1989) President Bush (Senior) declared that 2019 would be the target year for landing on Mars. This was exactly 30 years from the date proposed in this letter (1989-1919). Of course this was no astrological prediction either. In June/July 1992, the writer joined the American Federation of Astrologers (AFA) in their Chicago world convention and delivered his theory of "Regenerating Universe" and explained the dynamic geometric symmetry of the Zodiac as well as the ancient Chinese theory of Yin-Yang (or I-Ching ) and its 64 symmetries made from 10 "Heavenly Beams" and 12 "Earthly Columns"... In 1993 America congratulated China for her successful attempt in smashing the atom...

"My dear friend, this is enough for to-day. When I have time I will write again. This is the first time I am using a computer Chinese system to write. It might signal that this is the beginning of my  writing life. Whatever I have written to-day regarding sciences of nature, humanity, ideology, sociology and so on, using some history to illustrate my point, my purpose is not to point my finger at anyone or to criticize anybody or any political system. However, wise politicians might take it as reference material. All I wish is just to explain my theory of the five dimensions and to illustrate its importance. Of course I also hope that today’s politicians would truly exercise their noble virtues, and their self sacrifices to construct as early as possible a political structure having the complete five dimensions for the good of all..

In Nov 1996, some over 400 responsible representatives from Hong Kong, under supervision from Beijing, elected the Head of new Hong Kong government. The process lasted 3 days under Television cameras, thus putting “Hong Kong Peoples rule Hong Kong” and “One Country Two System” into actual test for the first time. Will it work successfully? Why not? The USA is made of different ethnic people and many State systems under one country. Perhaps in this first experimentation and under this new concept there lie enormous future potentials, but it must be borne in mind that when a nation or a people is enjoying stability or growth in national unity and economic progress, it would be an unwelcome attempt to disrupt it. In  Hong Kong the system is brand new, but it will grow with her future needs, and in time the rough edges will be iron out. However, Hong Kong must be extremely careful, because it is not a large nation with great national resources, but merely a small town!  Even an international conglomerate could generate impact on Hong Kong market. So, Hong Kong can be badly injured if coordinated attack is aimed at her either economically or politically. Hong Kong should also be always vigilant of the local powerful under world, which has more than 300,000 members as reported by local publications. (This note was added when the translated letter was sent to UN in 1995)

"At this point, I would like to tell you what I think is the greatest puzzle in science and nature, as it has something to do with what I have been talking about so far :- The origin of the Universe is not what is presumed in the hypothesis of “Big Bang”. I believe that the Universe is a continuous Regenerating Universe. It is changing endlessly between different states of existence as follows :- i.e. from physical matters to physical energy, then in the energy level there are 3 sublevels. i.e. from physical energy to spiritual energy, and from spiritual energy to soul energy, then recycle back from soul energy to spiritual energy, then physical energy and all the way back to masses again. Thus :-

"Matters -> Physical energy [ -> Spiritual Energy (purpose) -> Soul Energy (Will Power)-> Spiritual Energy (purpose)] -> Physical Energy -> Matters ->.....

"It is a perpetually changing and recycling Universe

It was later reported and confirmed that the above remark about the universe was what caused cosmologist Prof Fang Lit-Tze (by sound) and his wife to be relieved in early 1990 from his self imposed dilemma by hiding in the Beijing US Embassy since June 1989.

More notes: The Regenerating Universe Theory may be split into two parts, i.e. A purely physical part, which coincides with pure "physical Phenomena" and the tangible matters the universe. It explains how transmissible energy waves (electromagnetic radiations) are created by the galactic field symmetry, causing the expansion of universe, also how the universe is physically structured, including how it regenerates. It also describes the origin of gravity or gravitation, also how life was begun on earth and how cosmic energy field in symmetry do affect life, and lots more... This section contains 26 pages and are now listed under the "Main Contents" of this website.. However, the study of the universe is not limited to the mere tangible things. Intangible "Metaphysical Phenomena" are also true realities in the universal existence. This writer also study them with an open mind and without prejudice. These letters to Den Xiao Ping in 1989 and 1990 express some of the metaphysical phenomena. In doing so, the writer theorizes the 3-dimensional structure of matters as the 3 dimensions of formation, and added time and location (or environment) as 2 extra dimensions of transformation. And because all interactions in nature do involve laws and motivations, the energy for transformation is then split into Physical energy, Purpose energy and Will energy. The writer then took some risks by demonstrating the validity of metaphysical experience through astrological predictions However, the intangible Metaphysical Phenomena can and do confuse pure physical science rather strongly. For that reason, they are completely excluded from the pure physical science of the Theory of Regenerating Universe presented in this website in order to avoid confusion....

"As to who has created the universe, man must wait till his physical or spiritual being can travel and see for himself by reaching first the Milky system and then the more distant star systems before he can peep at the secrets of all existences, but of course, until then, for me, there is God ( only as long as man and human leaders have self restrain, or a soul, and can use it in times of doubt and hesitation, then there is God! Otherwise, eventually there would be no human left, then why and how can there be spiritual being or super existence?).... I hope some day people will prove that you are the first to hear about my theory of universe. When you have time, please ponder over it....

Yours, Adam, 1989 Dec 6th Hong Kong  (End of 1st letter)
