c2) Political Religion  

Human civilization grew up from its cradle to adulthood under the rule of monocracy. All past kings and emperors were autocrats or monocrats but not all monocracies or dictatorships are repressive and bad. In fact, great historic feasts have been achieved by great kings and emperors who are praised and proudly remembered in each country. On the other hand, Adolph Hitler is a known and scorned dictator, yet he was elected and empowered by a modern democratic system. Saddam Hussein, who was put on trial for crime against humanity, also claims to have been elected by the similar system. In fact, within one short last century alone, there had been simply too many elected leaders who failed to bring about peace, prosperity and aspired promises, but instead, only disputes, disasters, even bloodshed and wars. Therefore, it is not the formality or mode of a political system that gives memorable leaderships, good or bad, it's the quality of leadership that brings to the nation positive achievements or disasters. It's also the misbelieve of people and the misuse of political system by ambitious and demented men that usually bring the nation and the world at large atrocities. Since the prehistoric time, humans have been worshipping gods or spirits under all kinds of different religions. But of all religions, only the monotheistic God (one God religion) of Roman Catholic has been the single biggest dictator or autocrat ruler there could possibly be. Even its church is today still the only remaining true monocracy on earth, not only in its religious belief, but also in its mode of electing a Pope. 

The Catholic God is described as the Maker, the Creator, the Father, the Almighty, the God-Almighty, the Lord, the Supreme Being, or anything one can think of an absolute super supreme autocratic male authority (female would be called Goddess). He must be feared, believed, worshipped, followed, obeyed or whatever the priests make Him to be. Believers must kneel and beg or pray for His mercy and forgiveness. In other words, the most evolved, most advanced and most intelligent human being on earth is portrayed and regarded by Catholic priests and church authorities to be almost valueless and utterly worthless in front of God. To that effect unfortunately many humans are persuaded and convinced to believe as true! And yet, no human, through out the entire history, has ever met or seen Catholic God in person, or have ever shown or proven what God really is, not even if He exists in a human form, or just It!  So, no one knows whether this God is anything ever known to have existed anywhere. In other words, after thousands of years of being told and led to worship God, or to follow Him with absolute obedience, there is still no proof that God is a He, a She or It, or if He has ever existed! The entire stories about God were found purely in religious Bibles, which are neither authentic history, nor civic records.   

However, that's barely scratching the surface! What the church really aims to control is the human sub-conscience, or the level beyond rationality and wisdom.  Through constant repeat and pounding on the subconscious by priest sermons, followed by priest led and conducted prayers, people are led and brought to believe that biblical stories are true, including Jesus is the Son of God, although it cannot be proven, since no one even knows even what God is! The story of Jesus is only told in the Bibles, claimed to be written by various Apostles or disciples of Jesus, but those stories described, including Jesus' life, are not confirmed or proven by proper records of Jewish history. In fact, the biblical story of Jesus is practically a replicated tale of the Persian mythological Pagan sun god Mithra. Jesus' birthday (Christmas) was even officially adopted from the legendary birthday of Mithra on Dec 25th, and Jesus' death, the crucifixion, is equivalent to the legendary crucifixion of Pagan Sun God too. Therefore the year of Jesus crucifixion is also unproven. The 12 apostles symbolize the 12 Constellations, or the 12 zodiacal divisions, etc., etc... Practically most of  the essentials descriptions about Jesus are found in the legendary Pagan belief, which was the overwhelming worship everywhere in Roma Empire just before the Catholics took over. This is only the first touch, lots more of similar historic evidences will be described and discussed later in this page! 

People are also openly and publicly promised that if they believe and worship Jesus, they will be given "Everlasting Life", although nobody has ever known or experienced what "Everlasting Life" is! In fact, billions of people have believed and become followers through out history, yet none has ever reported to have received any Everlasting Life, both in life or in death, but the church continues to promise. The Catholic church, then presumably under the auspices and patronage of their God and Jesus, proceeds to demand absolute loyalty and allegiance from believers. Means and measures are devised to ensure and control believers' brains and hearts. Priests are prohibited from marriage under the church law of Celibacy, although it is the very essence and basics of human rights and human instincts to live with affections, love, sex, marriage and family life. By agreeing to such inhumane demands and conditions the priests display their absolute allegiance to anything the church wants them to do. As a result, the priests, especially those in physically strong and sexually active age, are driven to seek sexual release by abusing young and innocent church goers, who believe everything unreservedly and completely. In recent time, tens of thousands of cases of Catholic priest sexual crimes against young kids have been exposed in  dozens of nations, indicating that such crimes have been going on through the history of the church. The Catholic church has already paid billions of US dollars with money collected from other church goers to exonerate or lessen the punishments of priest crimes. Various legal authorities and governments around the world still give the church and priests top special privileges by not prosecuting and punishing priest sexual crimes to the full.  

It is one of the main institution of Catholic church to take confessions from believers and listen to all petty secrets, sexual infidelity in marriages, serious criminal offenses, even political secrets, etc., etc.. and after receiving an earful of confessions, the priests would then exercise his absolute power and privilege to represent God to pardon and forgive the sins of the confessed, although, of course, the priests are quite unable to identify what God really is! However, in this way, the priests, God's representatives, and naturally the church too, would be fully informed and in full control of each believer, as well as everything that's going on in a believer's life. Such control is thorough and deep into the subconscious level because not only the believer thinks he is talking to God, the Almighty Maker of humans and the universe, he also thinks he is actually forgiven! Why? because he actually believes! But shear belief and confession are not enough! Simple admission and declaration of loyalty and allegiance are also not enough! In order to make absolutely sure, a specially solemn ceremonial ritual, called "baptism", must be additionally performed. 

During the ritual of baptism a believer will feel the touch of water and a priest's hand on his forehead, or his whole body briefly inundated in water. It's as if God and the church do not trust enough. This solemn ritual makes sufficiently sure that the believer does not forget the occasion and his promises! Then the priest would conduct a special rite of prayers, bearing formal witness and in representation for the baptized with solemn promises of devotion and allegiance. Such mental suggestions for the ceremony vary slightly in different churches. For instance, the ritual either bears the grave suggestions that the believer is giving his or her sober oath of allegiance, or the implication that it is a rite of initiation that kicks start a permanently new life of allegiance to the church, or that the ritual is for his or her renunciation of the secular world, except for his or her new devotion, or it is the renunciation of the fresh (oneself, or the body), or as confession and renunciation of sins of the devils within or within ones own past, etc.. etc.. In short, the ritual powerfully makes quite sure of new comer's total loyalty to the new commitment, by declaring that he or she, the self, now exists no more, and that his or her body and soul now belong to the new God and the church... A God that can never be shown in reality! What a new commitment indeed! 

So, obviously since the body and soul are no more ones own, it's only right to let the priest do what he wants with them! There are centuries of records to prove that's only right because that's what has always been, therefore it's only natural to give ones own body and soul and to become what's right or what has always been... (Many secret societies also use special ritual tactics to confirm, deepen and ensure absolute commitment and loyalty of membership). Enough young and innocent children would believe what's been input unto them without any reservation, which must be a reason for such huge numbers of sex crimes against little children. In fact, some church meetings could be regularly brought to emotional climax and explode into tears and irrational out bursts. There had been a couple of radical religious groups with well over 100 members, which had worked themselves into such an emotional pitch that the entire group, women and children included, committed suicide... These things happen under the auspices of the advanced intelligence and scientific civilization of our 21st century. Yet, modern politicians, scholars, scientists, psychologists and social workers all watch in silence.  

One of the most powerful theme in Catholic belief is that God is the Creator of humans and everything else that we see. If you remove this belief from God's almighty capacities, then God would instantly become powerless and incapable of anything significant. Well, everybody knows now that human life is developed through nature's evolution. Modern science can examine DNA of different animal species and prove if they are intimately related or not, for instance, the human genes are only 1% different from those of chimpanzees. Today, Creationism, the religious belief that God is the Creator, has become forbidden to be taught in schools and other educational institutions. Such change is fundamental and enormous! But there are still well over a billion Catholic believers in the world today! In modern life, every person is educated and encouraged to use the brain to think and judge matters rationally and logically, because if one cannot do that efficiently, then that person is practically a "goner" in modern society! Yet, there are huge numbers of people who would spend 24 hours a day in trying to convince others not to think logically and rationally, only to believe in the unbelievable such as God is the almighty Maker. Judging from the numbers of humans and human energy involved, it is undoubtedly a ticking time bomb in the 21st century...      

Historically speaking, the Catholic church has shown itself without any doubt to be the only religion on earth that contains the main ingredients and essential worship of another important religion, namely the Paganism, or the worship of the sun and the Persian sun God Mithra (today's Iran). Because any one who is familiar with the history of Pagan worship would immediately become aware that the two religions are mixed and different gods are involved. The man responsible not only for the mix but also for the sudden explosive growth of Catholic church was Roman Emperor Constantine. Extreme measures were taken by him to mutate Paganism into Catholicism during his life time. His actions are clearly recorded in history, including removing things from Pagan temples and putting them in Catholic churches, as well as making himself the head of his newly created Catholic church, while keeping his old tile "Pontiff" as head Pagan worship, which still stands today as the official title of Catholic "Pope". Today the church still call the priest as "Father" (a Pagan legacy, originally "Pater"). The Catholic church then grew under Constantine's extreme imperial diktat. It went so far as to force every life in European society into prolonged oppression and stagnant darkness from 4th to16th century through the entire era known as the Dark Ages. As ancient European kings and emperors depended their ruling power on divine verdict and support, it eventually enabled the Catholic church, representing the power of God, to claim superiority over the European rulers.  The church collected taxations to build enormous churches and cathedrals, and to finance its army and navy, as well as and to rule over European monarchies with both absolute spiritual and military forces.

The Catholic church then grew to own lands and territories. The tiny Vatican was supported to become a sovereign nation, sharing a seat in the United Nation. Vatican then sends its priests, Bishops and Cardinals all over the world, not as political envoys, but as God's representatives, although no one knows what God is! These specially trained and ordained representatives of supernatural Lord and Master then enjoy the undisputed authority and freedom to call for assembly and congregations in foreign lands to create absolute and complete loyalty to Catholic God and Lord, to edify how to think, to act and to believe as a loyal and faithful Catholic follower. Judging from its proven records of absolute, ruthless and callous reign over Europe through the Dark Ages, the centuries of religious Inquisitions, etc., etc., its relentless international expansion conveys a silent but ominous world wide ambition. The Vatican wants total control as it does not approve appointments of Bishops by local church authorities. Then with expertise the church and its trained priests know exactly how to use thousands of years of experience and influence to seed supernatural belief in the subconscious nature and to control the subconscious minds of foreign nationals who are led to follow the church initiatives. They have constantly succeeded in impregnating the intelligent modern mind with un-provable supernatural images and imaginations. The church then becomes a powerful political influence and organization to support its members to take part in local politics and elections and street demonstrations, demanding its own political agendas in different foreign lands...

Meanwhile, the Catholic church has left behind some 2000 years of cruel political records in history, all of which are carried out in the name of God. Yet, no one has ever shown or proved what God really is! Not even if He exists in human form, or in any other form known to have ever existed! The only thing widely known about Catholic God is that Catholicism was largely or practically the creation of Emperor Constantine who made Catholicism the official religion of the Roman Empire from 312 AD onwards; also that Catholic worship had dominated living human activities over the entire several centuries of Dark Ages; and that it had shed much bloods in the so called "Crusader" wars, even wars with European rulers; also that the church had burnt alive thousands of non-conformists (heretics), and confiscated their properties through centuries of Spanish Inquisition and other religious Inquisitions. One scholar Giordano Bruno was imprisoned for 7 years, then burnt alive. All those acts were carried out in the names of God and Jesus, until finally the church was forced to reform in the 17th century Renaissance. Nevertheless, it was merely a reformation, and not repentance! However, comparing with what and how it used to dictate and dominated over the human mind as well as its offense to human rights and the freedom of human society, the change has been enormous! And yet, today the Catholic church, as a religious entity, still cannot relent its historic interests and influence, even control in secular politics. It still enjoys many unique privileges, especially when it comes to sex crimes against believing and trusting children in their tender age!... 

Records of history are the only actual passages describing how an event in the past took place, provided they are not deliberately obscured or omitted. However, it's almost impossible to completely alter or ignore the characteristics of historical developments through centuries. Therefore, by studying and examining both the details and overall characteristics of what took shape in the transformation between Jewish Judaism, which provided the Ten Commandments of the Old Testament began by Moses, and was adopted into Christianity, together with the overwhelming Pagan belief at the time of Constantine's Rome and the final products or characteristics in Catholicism, one should be in the position to understand what really took place, and was meant to be. It is especially important to distinguish which God, i.e., the Jewish God, the Pagan God or the Catholic God, to believe in and to worship, because clearly for almost 2000 years, there has been an undeclared mixture of the three different religions mixed in the final product of Catholic belief! We shall now proceed to discuss in the following passages the historical backgrounds and the related overall characteristics of transformation between the three religions, particularly in the mutation from Paganism to Catholicism.  It is very important to examine what had happened in the life time of emperor Constantine who history ascribes as the man responsible for the conversion. It is equally important to anticipate what consequence his actions could bring in the future.

We shall barely touch the kinship between Judaism's creation of Old Testament and Christianity's New Testament here, because Christianity had simply used Old Testament and Ten Commandment to create and add on the stories of Jesus and called it New Testament. It took only one tiny but practically unnoticed step to modify Old to New Testaments, but the end result was the birth of a brand new religion, which contained vastly varied implications and consequences. And yet there was a time gap of some 1700 years between Moses' Ten Commandments and the Christian New Testament. Therefore, the age and historical backgrounds, the nature and aim of worship and the deities involved, etc, all showed that there are differences. Judaism strictly insists only monotheistic characteristics (one single God), as the jealous God of Ten Commandment declared "Thou shall not have other gods before me", whilst in Christianity, Jesus became squeezed in between monotheism and nothing! If one thinks of Jesus as godly, or also a god, then there should be two gods! Or between one god and two gods. At any rate, although the two worships are partially linked, they still remain separate religions! We will not spend more time in discussing the details of differences and similarities between them in this page. Let's only point out the rather unexposed fact that Christianity is in fact made of three religions, i.e. Judaism, Christianity and Paganism, each with its own god or gods as well as separate objectives and approaches! Now we shall continue to discuss how and why Christianity was converted from Paganism.    

According to history, the Roman Empire had already fallen into disorder on and off since middle of the 1st century AD, but during 3rd century the imperial control collapsed into a whole century of anarchy (AD 193~286), and the Roman society went into a total confusion after seemingly endless time of lawless and dangerous social chaos and also hopeless moral deterioration, especially towards the end of the 3rd century. Then in 296 AD soldier Diocletian was supported by his troop and friends to claim the crown as emperor. Diocletian barely managed to reinstate the Roman State. He had to divide the Empire into Western and Eastern Roma Empires, each with an emperor, the Augustus, and a deputy emperor, the Caesar, to share and to assist the rule of that vast but confused empire. He then shared the rule with his friend Maximian who had been his trusted comrade, and proceed with the help of his supporters to restore orders. During the earlier centuries of more or less anarchic conditions, a new cult of Christianity was sprouting from Israel (its roots and characteristics might have been influenced by Persian mythology because Jerusalem was once occupied by Persian Empire a few centuries earlier) and gradually spreading into the Eastern Roman Empire, then beginning to reach the Western Empire, while at the time, the Roman Empire was still predominantly worshipping the Pagan religion. In fact, at that time almost the entire Europe was overwhelmingly worshipping the Persian version of Pagan sun God, Mithra. 

Because in ancient societies religion played a vital role in the rule of the land, the difference between the monotheistic Christian God and the Pagan plural gods further added conflicting chaos to the already anarchic havoc of the empire, especially as the invading belief was a foreign cult trying to take over many centuries of traditional Pagan belief. Roman Emperor Diocletian decided  that imperial affairs could not function properly unless their imperial subjects were made to worship gods in a manageable way. At that time Pagan religion, a polytheistic religion, was the predominant religious belief.. Paganism in fact by then had already far reaching and deeply rooted tradition passed down from distant Roman history. Diocletian tried to clean up the new Christianity with extreme measures and persecutions, such as putting Christians and Jews in the Colosseum to be killed, but it was too late. He did not succeed in annihilating Christianity, instead, he had only aroused Christian resistance, and made them more resolute. However, due to anarchic conditions Pagan orders had also fallen into confusion. Despite Diocletian's efforts he failed to revitalize the Pagan tradition. A few years later, Diocletian's successor emperor Constantine completely reverted the efforts made by Diocletian who by that time had become old and decided to retire. Constantine proceeded to promote Christianity, although his own actions were extremely self conflicting, just as many things were in that vast but trouble land at the time.... 

There were many reasons and possibilities for Constantine's actions, which decidedly worked in favour of the Christians and the Jews. Constantine was most likely influenced by Christians during his childhood or his youth in the Eastern provinces where Christianity ideas were expanding, while Diocletiam was trying to suppress it. Also during the persecution of Christians and Jews, he was probably approached and strong influenced by desperate Christian relatives from his mother Helena's side of the family. Actually during the years of persecution, when Constantine was only 9 ears old, his mother Helena was forced or punished to accept the divorce from her husband Constantius, one of the four emperors. That event had probably affected young Constantine badly.  It answers why Constantine, being a Roman emperor, was willing to promote, adopt and transform an invading new Jewish cult into official Roman worship so forcefully and resolutely, as well as with such vigor and vengeance. It is even more so because the transformation proved to be the most abrupt, unnatural and controversial take-over between religions in history, and especially because the worship of Pagan God Mithra had been well grounded and was popular in Rome and in Europe for already many centuries. The transformation was so controversial that at first the worship of Pagan Mithra was forcefully and briskly stopped, but later Constantine personally decreed some important Christian traditions to be replaced by Pagan tradition. For instance, original Christian "Sabbath Day' was changed to Pagan "Sunday' (sun's day), and Christian "Passover" was replaced by Pagan "Easter",  

In fact and in time, emperor Constantine had personally and effectively created a highly unique religion out of a mixture of  new Jewish Christianity and old Persian Paganism with different gods still in it, but without disclosing it. Actually as Roman Emperor, he was first the head of the Pagan Worship with the title "Pontifex Maximus", meaning the "Supreme Pontiff", or just "Pontiff", then having established the Christianity, he became the head of Christian church, but he retained the original Pagan title "Pontiff", which still stands today (the popular name is "Pope"). Later, when Christianity had become fully established, it still contained such a lot of important features, which were either directly taken from Pagan worship, or indirectly symbolizing the worship of sun. For example, the birthday of sun god Mithra, i.e., December 25th was directly and officially taken to be birthday of Jesus, and called the "Christmas"; or the Cross, being the sign of sun rays, hence the Crucifixion; the 12 Apostles would symbolize the 12 Zodiacal Constellations.; even the Christian cathedrals also contain a Pagan temple within them, etc., etc.. And lots more! I have barely touched the surface here, because as we continue in this page, we will have opportunity to discuss lots more such meaningful crossed features in greater details. Such mixed features could hardly be called coincident, or even similarities, because they are full of clear, well planned and deliberate intentions, such as building the cathedrals with a concealed Pagan temple in it.. 

(There are three big questions though! 1) Can a human, like Jesus, born in flesh and live a mythological deity's life, like Mithra? 2) Over the centuries and millennium, where and to which God did those mountains and oceans of prayers from world-wide devotees actually go and end up? In other words, were prayers received? And how many prayers were answered? 3) Would humans on this earth ever reach to understand universal conscience?) 

It also explains why Helena had acted with such vengeance in support and on behalf of the new Jewish belief by claiming that she had found the original Cross in Jerusalem on which Jesus was crucified. If this is true, then obviously the cross would still be exhibited today, but this is quite impossible, because crucifixion had been a typical symbolic experience of so many mythological deities by so many religious cultures for about a millennium before Jesus' time. Besides, both Jesus birth and crucifixion were not records of history, so there were no traceable dates and clues for archeology. Crucifixion represented the powerful phenomenon of sun, as the sun was believed to be God. The symmetry of sun's ray is at its most concentrated and brightest when it forms a cross. Scientifically speaking, sun light is made of components of electric and magnetic waves at 90º to each other, hence the cross. The sun is seen to be right on the center of a cross of light, or the symmetry of light, hence Crucifixion! Since early ancient times, Indian Vedic, Greco, Egyptian, Persian and Roman gods were all described to have been crucified on the cross. They were all mythological representations of the image and power of the sun, so there was no actual cross to be found... The fact that Constantine and his mother Helena acted with such determination and vengeance can only be caused by extremely strong personal reasons, such as the divorce and the religious persecutions. However, mythological tales formed and developed over millenniums are full of obscured twists and turns, especially for mythological legends, not historical facts! Direct and simple observations are never enough, but they do provide all sorts of intrigues for cross examinations today. We shall therefore continue to discuss them with more details and skepticism in the upcoming passages, especially when mythological tales and history are mingled and crossed... 

It was said that when Diocletian first divided the empire into East and West and shared the rule with his friends by creating the unprecedented system of two pairs of Emperors, namely an Emperor, or the Augustuses and a deputy Emperors, or the Caesars, there was the idea to reinforce their kinship and imperial power with marriages. So, before Emperor Maximian made Constantine's father Constantius a deputy Emperor, Constantius was required to divorce Helena and then to marry Maximian's step-daughter Theordora , and later also when Maximian helped to legitimize the succession of Constantine as Emperor (because at the time the succession of imperial title was not automatically hereditary), Constantine was made to marry Maximian's own daughter Fausta as a second wife, but without having to divorce the first wife. This means that Helena's divorce was in fact neither imperative, nor circumstantial, but a persecution for being what she was. That's why both mother and son sought revenge with such zeal. As a result, when Constantine ascended the throne as a powerful emperor Augustus, he made his mother Empress Dowager. As it happened, Diocletian must have felt that the pressure for his earlier religious persecution was building up stromgly, and decided to resign. He also told Maximian to retire with him, as Maximian was his deputy, responsible for executing the persecution. So Maximian also resign! At any rate, as things evolved, in the end Constantine's old father-in-law Maximian and his daughter Fausta (Constantine's second wife), his son Maxentius (Constantine's brother-in-law), even Constantine's own eldest son Crispus who got involved, were all slain in the hands of Constantine.

By that time Maxentius was long been installed as a deputy emperor (a Caesar) by his own father Maximian  Constantine's killing of ex-emperor and father-in-law Maximian of course caused the two brothers-in-law Maxentius  and Constantine to end up in battles.  This was the all important battle of Milvian Bridge in Christian history when Constantine painted a Cross on his soldiers' shields, and claimed to have had a Christian vision, and Maxentius was killed in this battle. There were however 2 versions ascribing the particular importance of Christian visions for this battle. One version was that Constantine saw a Christian monogram in his dream, and the other was that he saw the Christian monogram in the sky during the battle. At any rate, Constantine did go into this battle with special Christian significance, which further confirmed that all the killings in the family was directly connected with the religious persecution and Helena's divorce. The victory of this battle did mark the realization of Helena's revenge. This happened in 312 AD and directly after this battle Constantine immediately decreed the establishment of Christianity as the official religion for Roman empire. It also signified the revenge not only for his mother's divorce, but for all the previous persecution of Christian and Jews too. For that Constantine declared that he was sent by God "to suppress the impiety" (impiety was not referring to Paganism because Constantine would personally adopt Pagan Sunday for Christians to worship, and the church would adopt Mithra's birthday for Jesus' birthday. Impiety therefore means all his in laws, etc..). Now that all the "impieties", or marriage relatives, are no more, from this point on, Constantine went completely went out of his ways to boost Christianity with unprecedented and unbelievable personal zeal and vengeance. That's obviously why Helena went to Jerusalem and claimed to have found the Cross. That was also why she was hailed by Christians as Saint Helena, for which even Constantine himself did not have the honour...  .  

That is the only plausible way to explain why a Roman emperor, i.e., Constantine the Great, would be so determined to exchange a highly popular Roman God in favour of a new Jewish God, even with strongly irritating and challenging mythological characteristics. In the end, Helena had her complete revenge and became not only Empress Dowager but also a Christian Saint!. And she added her own zeal in promoting the Jewish course. So the original idea of reinforcing imperial power with marriage failed totally and tragically in the hands of Constantine. Otherwise the idea might have worked, and European history could have gone a very different way. In which case, at least there would have been no Dark Ages.  However, this series of events had also sown the seeds that would spell the final curtain down of Roman Empire empire not too long after. What really mattered was the extreme conflicting and controversial mixture of different Gods and different religions in those historic conditions when religion was the motivation behind imperial authority. To make it work, extremely confusing and strenuous, but oppressive measures had to be used, which invariably had to bring about roughly 1000 years of Dark Ages. During that millennium practically every ounce of human energies and social resources had to be channeled by forced into religious worship. Church authority would rule over kings and governments in Europe, and its army and navy would seek to rule Europe with nothing but supernatural and superstitious motives as well as military force. Anyway, Constantine took some of the most controversial actions recorded in history. He claimed to be ordained to rule by both the Pagan Sun God and the Christian God. While he kept his life long official title as the Supreme Priest of the Pagan God, he also officially converted himself into a Christian. Yet, it was also he who had installed Christian worships into Roman empire, and built Christian churches by looting from Pagan temples. He then gave the Christian church special privileges and authority, which would later evolve to become more powerful than European monarchs. He claimed to have been "sent by God (Christian) to suppress the impiety". Yet he would use the age old and deeply rooted Pagan traditions and insert them into the new Christianity. For instance, the all important Christian "Sabbath" day, the 7th day of God's Creation, was forcefully replaced by age old day of worshiping the sun, or the "Sunday", which happened to be the 1st day of God's Creation. Later, even December 25th, the birthday of Pagan sun god Mithra, was officially adopted into Christianity, as "Christmas", the birthday of Jesus. These changes, and lots more, were more than complex and difficult than one can imagine now. In short, what Constantine did was to forcefully and openly keep the heart of Pagan worship pumping right in the center of the new Christian worship, yet at the same time also forced the Pagan identity to disappear mysteriously. This didn't seem to bother Constantine, but it ought to bother the gods and the devotees, because they wouldn't know with whom they are communicating...  

What happened had to have serious consequences! As once Constantine embarked on the road of such massive conflicting changes, there was no way to return! Since ancient rulers were supposed to be ordained by gods, divine will was the major source of authority that an emperor depended upon to rule, the conversion of confusing deities must have serious consequence on the confidence and obedience for the imperial rule. Besides, no one could explain for Constantine that he did it out of emotional revenge. As a result, strong measures and severe punishments must be taken to maintain and insist upon the conversion. Once that started going, there was no way to halt it too! It had to evolve until it took over all motives of daily life as well as social activities. In fact, even that wouldn't be enough, it had to evolve until religion over-ruled the authority of European monarchs. If not, Europe would have experienced worse kind of hell! It's no wonder Dark Ages lasted a whole millennium. But why is it called Dark Ages?  Because not only there was little Light or Truth, but also because much of historical details have been obscured. However, it did fix the course of civilization for almost 2 millenniums until today! Still, the conflicts between mythological nature and actual historical records are still evident within the remains of that original conversion, which should be examined and taken into considerations before the time bomb turns into a nuclear time bomb. 

Indeed, much of the historical details during the transformation of Paganism to Christianity had been obscured since the days of Constantine. In fact, if they are historical details at all. For instance, some logic defying explanations would have to come forth, since Jesus was put to trial, judged and condemned for blasphemy against God and put to death under Roman law for claiming to be the Son of God. Of course God had never agreed! So in that case Jesus' crime of blasphemy still stands today. And yet it turned out that Jesus became the official idol of worship of the Roman Empire as their Son of God, and Paganism simply mysteriously disappeared in name although the essence of Pagan worship remained in Christianity... In fact, in recent years a great deal of information have come to the surface to show that Jesus and many ancient gods in Egypt, Greece, Persia and India all share similar mythological descriptions depicting the worship of sun. These findings show that most early religions were sun or sun-related worshipers. Without doubt, such historical facts will continue to come to light from Indian and Middle Eastern histories, despite efforts to prove that Jesus and Christian Bible are real... There is one question here that needs asking. Is it possible that mysteries and intrigues of mythological beliefs used by ancient politicians can also become realistic beliefs for the 21st century politicians? It's bound to attract more attention and investigation... Please read on!  In the following paragraphs in blue colour, I shall try to look into some reported occurrences in that junction of history with more details...  

Let's look briefly into the time of Emperor Constantine. It was said that Constantine claimed to have two godly visions in his life, the first one was a Pagan vision, which occurred when he was a votary (devoted worshiper) of the Sun God at the Pagan Grand Temple of the Sun.  In fact he proclaimed the Sun as his Comrade, for which he cast his commitment to the "Invincible Sun" in his nation-wide coinage and devoted himself to that cult. So his claim and his image became a permanent record, because once those coins were issued, they went through the entire empire, which covered a huge area from Europe, Middle East, all the ways to Africa. And yet at the same time he claimed to have become a Christian. In fact he claimed to have also a Christian vision. The Christian vision was said to have occurred during battle with his brother-in-law Maxentius. Constantine claimed that he saw a Christian monogram in the sky during the battle  (Another version written by Christian apologist Lactantius described that the vision was a dream. Lactantius was the teacher of Constantine's eldest son Crispus)... He then painted the shields of his troops with a Christian monogram and won the battle (the cosmic image of 6-spike sunlight symmetry on the lower right of picture is almost a Christian monogram). So he declared that he had a special relationship with the Christian God, who had sent him "to suppress the impiety" (His brother-in-law Maxentius must have offended Christian God badly!). Thus both claims of support from Pagan and from Christian Gods were to become records of history. But in the end he betrayed one god over the other! And then reversed his action too! 

 

Yet those were the days. In early history, references to multiple gods were not uncommon. It would appear gods were jealous of each other, as the Ten Commandment stipulates that God says " You shall not have other gods before me... for I, the lord your God, am a jealous God...". Such statement clearly shows that Jewish God admitted there were more gods than just Himself. That was obvious, because at the time Moses had just led the Jews out of Egypt where only multiple gods were worshipped. But this God was not yet Christian God. This was just the God of  Judaism.. Actually in Moses days, most religions around were polytheistic, so heaven and earth were crowded with all sorts of gods. History shows that only some 1700 years later, Roman Emperor Constantine made this Jewish God also Christian God, as Ten Commandment was in Old Testament of Moses time, which was well before Christianity and totally Jewish. Then slowly all other gods were made to disappear in the Christian universe. However, although both Jewish Ten Commandment and Christianity claimed to be a monotheistic (single god) religion, somehow Jesus got wedged into the monotheistic worship. This also means not only Paganism was blended into Christianity but Judaism too! So Christianity is in fact made of three different religions, with all the deities, the different theories, principles and ritual formalities mixed in it. 

 

Let us look into that period of history in Roman Empire. But we can only look from a distance, not from within the described historical scenario, and then try to comprehend it with our own intelligence, because we are looking into the most deliberately obscured period of European history, or rather religious history. Where logical background and exact details are missing, but it's quite impossible to muddle up the main causes, progressions and results of a historical process. Someday all those obscurities in the history of religion will be cleared because there had been dozens of independent religious cults, sets and churches, which were closely related or had broken away from the main course during the long history of conflicts and confusions in Western religions. Each independent organization still holds their own records of the past as parts of that mixed history, but in secrecy. The Vatican should still hold the most of those records.   

 

Shortly before the time of Constantine, Roman Empire having undergone a whole century of anarchy, social orders, and traditions had already fallen into chaos and commotion. Besides, in ancient time, emperors' absolute authorities were believed to be specially granted  by gods. It was divine favour that provided rulers the rights to exercise indisputable authorities. And for already many centuries, the traditional Roman divinity was Mithra of Pagan worship, now the invasion of the new cult Christianity from the eastern region not only threatened to muddle up the imperial authority, it also added new confusion to the anarchic conditions and beliefs. For instance, according to Christianity's own sources Jesus was condemned to death only because he had committed blasphemy against God by claiming to be God's son. Yet neither in the records of civil history, nor in religious history had God ever agreed or admitted that Jesus was his son. But, without God's permission Jesus was still worshipped as God's only son. This would mean that not only Jesus' crime of blasphemy was never exonerated, but it had even been passed onto every Christian follower ever since! There seems to be a serious illogical conflict somewhere. Then again, the Biblical story of Jesus' life mirrored the life story of the extremely popular sun god Mithra at the time. How did Roman imperial power manage to enforce the conversion of Mithra's mythological image to the human image of Jesus, and yet managed to keep the same essential resemblances intact in the story for both religions and both idols of worship?... These questions are still unanswered even today!

 

Anyway, during the century long anarchic or semi-anarchic conditions of Roman empire, a smart military officer of humble origin, Diocletian, supported by his close friends, fellow officers and troops, rose to power and proclaimed himself emperor. Emperor Diocletian did succeed to temporarily patch up and regroup the vast but troubled empire, but only barely. At first, Diocletian had shared a few years of rule with his trusted friend and partner Maximian, but things happening were too much for the two to handle. It became necessary to split the empire into Eastern and Western parts, and to setup an unusual system of two pairs of emperors to share the power and the burden. Each older emperor with the title "Augustus", had a younger deputy emperor or the "Caesar", to assist the administration, The Augustus was responsible for policy making and his deputy was more responsible for execution of policies. For this purpose Diocletian split up the previous partnership with Maximian. He then made Maximian an Augustus with Constantius to assist him as Caesar for the west. Diocletian also chose another younger colleague Galerius as his own deputy emperor or east. Then in order to make their unions strong, bonding and lasting, together they decided to further cement their ties with marriages. So Diocletian's own daughter Valeria was married to Galerius. Yet, for some important, strong but sensitive reasons, Constantius had to divorce his wife Helena, mother of Constantine, before he could marry Maximian's step daughter Theodora. 

 

The divorce of Helena was particularly unusual, especially because already she had a son, Constantine, who might well become a future emperor. However, for some equally important reasons, the detailed background of  Helena's divorce had been obscured. Anyway, in those unstable conditions of the empire at the time, Christian invasion was growing in strength from the east, where Helena and her son Constantine had lived and grown up. Meanwhile, according to some sources Diocletian in his early years of rule had decided that it was impossible to rule unless the invading Christianity was stopped, especially since religion was the divine support behind his imperial authority. So he inflicted dreadful persecutions on the Christians and Jews in his attempt to eliminate them, but he failed. And of course Maximian was the man to execute those policies. That appeared to be the only reason for Helens's divorce because she was either of Jewish descend, or a devout Christian, or had close links to some Christian relatives in her family. Therefore, something very ominous was hidden in Helena's divorce, which would later turn into horrific family tragedies! Obviously some of the background details had to be obscured. Because later when Constantius died, Maximian also supported and legitimized Constantine's succession to his father's position, even made him an Augustus (in those days succession of imperial title and rule was not hereditary), So Maximian really helped Constantine and even gave his own daughter Fausta in marriage to Constantine, but only as his second wife. It was not necessary to divorce his first wife as in the case of Helena! That's why it was something really serious and seriously wrong in divorcing Helena. 

 

Anyway to cut a long story short, Constantine having become an Augustus, the real authoritative emperor and not a deputy emperor, he would in time grow to become very powerful, and was supported by the military, because he did win battles with his father Constantius in England where the father died. In the following years, many serious problems developed, and Diocletian who persecuted Christians and Jews decided to resign or was urged to step down. He also urged Maximian, who carried those persecutions, to resign with him. This Maximian did, but he went back temporarily to install his own son Maxentius as a deputy emperor. However, Maximian was not only responsible for carrying out Diocletians's policies to persecute Christians, he was also responsible for his daughter Fausta's marriage to Constantine as well as his step-daughter Theodora's marriage to Constantine's father, Constantius. Then for more obscured reasons Maximian developed serious disagreements with his own son Maxentius. So he left his son and went to join son-in-law Constantine instead, obviously thinking that he had two daughters there, and that he had helped Constaantine to become the Augustua.. But even more serious and obscured problems developed. It was reported that old man Maximian was killed by Constantine, or was ordered by Constantine to commit suicide. What's more, it was said that somehow Constantine's eldest son Crispus had seduced his step-mother Fausta, the second wife of Constantine and daughter of Maximian. This seems quite unlikely, because Cripus could have a dozen of  younger and more beautiful girls then his step-mother, if he had wanted  Anyhow, Constantine had them both killed. 

Of course the exact and true reasons for the entire series of family killings were all obscured, and had become simply twists and turns difficult to explain, but they are still hidden somewhere intact because the series was far too big, too important and too noticeable... At any rate, Constantine had 4 sons, Crispus, Constantius II, Constantine II and Constans. For still unclear reasons Constantine had his own eldest son Crispus also slain. By that time Crispus was already made a deputy emperor and had won some important battles for his father. After killing Crispus, Constantine promoted his 3rd son Constantine II to succeed as Augustus and to share the empire between the 3 bothers. But as soon as Constantine II ascended the throne he tried to control his own bother Constans who refused. So the two brothers also ended up in battle, in which Constantine II was killed. Later Constans was also killed, leaving Constantius II (son of the slain Fausta) to be the only one died of illness.   

Thus, the man is hailed as Constantine, The Great, had killed the senior ex-emperor Maximian who not only had helped to create the new empire, but also was his willing father-in-law, the same father-in-law who had been partially responsible for crowning his father Constantius as Emperor, and was even fully responsible for making Constantine himself the emperor, Augustus. But that's not all, Constantine also killed his own wife, Maxmian's daughter, and his own son as well. After that, of course brother-in-law Maxentius went to war with Constantine, but he was no match for Constantine's experience and his army. Maxentius lost the battle at the historically famous Milvian Bridge in 312 AD, where Constantine had made an unprecedented historic mark by painting his solders' shields with a Christian monogram, and also glorified his victory by claiming to have that fateful Christian vision, and that had been sent by Christian God "to suppress the impiety". This shows that behind all those twists and turns of obscured reasons, and all the family killings, were in fact all about Christianity and all because of the earlier persecution of Christians and Jews. Despite all those fuss and noise about Christian monogram and the sacred Christian vision or dream, etc,, now Constantine had at last exposed and revealed the real reasons behind those killings. It was also important because he could now charge the family killings to divine interference. Now at last Milvian Bridge victory could be openly celebrated and glorified as a historic victory for Christianity, not to mention that all the "impieties" had been wiped out! 

 

This indeed was the historic point of cross-over for Constantine, because history shows that year 312 AD was the year Pagan worship was resolutely put down by Constantine with means and methods more effective and persistent than any previous persecutions. This was the year for that explosive beginning of converting Pagan worship directly into Christianity, and the declaration of Christianity as the official religion for the Roman Empire. So, as a result Helena, the starting cause of all those family tragedies, was installed by her son as Empress Dowager, and Christians installed her as their Saint. Therefore, she had her complete revenge!...  Constantine couldn't have known that his actions would bring about a whole millennium of Dark Ages, but he could have realized that there is no big cause without a big consequence. Perhaps he did sense the momentum of things even then, because many years after his victory at Milvian Bridge, he decreed some very significant changes in Christianity by putting back some of the important Pagan worships.

 

Firstly, on March 7th 321 AD, shortly before killing his wife and eldest son, Constantine the Great (although nothing great about this man in a true hisroric sense, because he had merely accepted a foreign cult to replace centuries of his own Roman tradition, and caused only civil wars and family bloodshed) proclaimed a new law that would change the Christian observance of Sabbath, which was originally the Saturday ( the day of Saturn or the 7th day ) into Sunday ( the day of Sun or the 1st day ), which was the day of worship in Pagan religion. Secondly, 4 years later in 325 AD (13 yars after Milvia Bridge and 12 years before his death in 337 AD) the original Christian Feast of Passover was officially replaced by Pagan festival of Easter, which was a ritual worship of Sun goddess. Thirdly, after he had converted to Christianity he continued to hold the title "Pontifex Maximus", which was the office or title for High Priest in Paganism. Fourthly, after Constantine had claimed to be a Christian, he still cast coinage with inscription "Sol Invicto Comiti", meaning "I am committed to the Invincible Sun". And the mysteries continued after his death. In AD 350 Christianity officially adopted Pagan Sun God Mithra's birthday Dec 25th to be the birthday of Jesus. All above practices are still observed by the Christians today. But there are lots more, which I shall relate later on... 

 

And yet, the conversion was not quite a discernible conversion, because in the following passages readers will see many hidden relationships between Biblical descriptions and Pagan mythological tale in the same story, even mythological tales of other ancient cultures from India, Greece and more! Even the great cathedrals still contain a hidden Pagan temple, the Pantheon, within them, and Gothic style too contains the symbolism and reverence of the sun! The story indeed highlights the unnatural birth of Christianity. But that's not all! The conversion did not remain in the nature of pure religion, it went on to become an absolute political power that brought on Dark Ages, and the rule above European monarchs as well as the religious Crusaders wars and lots more.    

 

[Note:- In recent years many scholars and historians have become interested in digging out the early Christian history and development. As a result more and more revelations are coming forth from the Indian and Middle Eastern historical sources, but it's barely the very beginning of such intriguing discoveries and revelations. They are becoming more and more fascinating each day because of their great influence to the past and present human belief. Meanwhile there are also continued efforts using modern science trying to sustain the history of those supernatural beliefs...

 

For instance, there is nothing "Holly" or "Devine" or "Godly" about the "Cross", or even the sun. In the simple science of mutual induction between electricity and magnetism, if an electric charge is set to motion or accelerate, it will induce a magnetic moment at 90º. As the motion continues, the magnetic moment will induce back an electric charge also at 90º. The repeat of electromagnetic induction always at 90º apart forms a Cross of light. This principle is used to drive an electric motor by giving it electric current, which produces turning moment of magnetic force. This is called the Lenz Law. The solar system is an electric system (atoms contain electrons and protons), which produces a slowly rotating magnetic field. When viewed from earth this rotating magnetic field may appear as a Cross of light, or a 6 spike star, or a 12 equal division, etc... Such equal angle symmetries are the solar energy field reflected in the constantly and instantly changing ambient force environment. Statistically the 12 division contains all the basic symmetries, i.e., 2,4,6 and 12. Therefore it prevails and stays to be seen as the "Zodiac", or 12 Constellations. In religious perception it is a heavenly phenomenon and therefore symbolically the 12 Apostles. 

 

The light of the Cross is more concentrated than the more complex symmetries of 6 ad 12 angles, therefore strongest. Many ancient mythological religions worshipped the Cross, and the Zodiac symbolized the 12 disciples. Such religions were mainly sun worshippers, and in time the homage evolved slightly in different cultures. As for the sun, it was believed to be the sole and greatest object and energy in the cosmos until telescope was invented and evolution in nature became known. Then galaxy is then seen and known to be billions times greater than the sun, and the universe is infinitively greater than the galaxy. Life on earth is nurtured and sustained by all kinds of cosmic energies and rays coming from stars and from different parts of universe, not just the solar system alone. In fact, the sun is not the creator of all life and everything, it is itself created by the evolutionary laws as well as the energies and matters in the Regenerating Universe. The universe existed long before the sun, the earth and the humans came into being... That's why today many nations, including the United States, prohibit by law the teaching of Creationism, or God is the Creator, in schools and in all educational institutions.     

 

Actually religions are still fine and belief in after life is also welcome, as long as they remain a private and personal interest in soul searching. The danger arises only when a religious energy is used for political ends and turns into a spiritual support for or military action. Such religion then tries to control the mind of believers by controlling the appointment of leading priests and officials (Bishops or Cardinals). Since the Vatican is a sovereign nation, how could any government permit its own citizens to be led, controlled and influenced by trained priests or officials of a foreign nations (Vatican) and lead them to be loyal and obedient to their faith, and therefore to follow the preaching and guidance by those priests? Because religion, being a completely imaginary thing, cannot last long without specially trained priests, who use repeated Sunday congregation and skillfully practice conducted or guided prayers that are extremely inductive psychological tools to influence the mass, especially the young ones. For instance, in time of national crisis, say in times of war, a trained priest may conduct a mass prayer for peace, and hence restrain emotion and actions. Alternatively, the same priest may guide you to pray for courage, or promise of everlasting life, or sing a marching hymn, which would guide or pump up a person's emotions to kill and die. In fact, some radical priests have even brought a whole congregation to commit suicide.  It all depends on what the priest might do, and who controls the priest, or how willing a priest wants to be controlled. That's why the church are fighting with some governments for the appointment or control of priests. 

 

All of this is because conducted mass meetings or guided prayers is a powerful and persuasive psychological tool, and a trained priest knows how to use it. After 2000 years of preaching experiences, there are naturally plenty of techniques, ways, references, records, hymns and music for use to train a priest. And a trained priest knows exactly how to use them to guide a congregation. Human emotions and passions are infectious, contagious and transferable, Hitler used to work himself up to a screaming pitch and listeners would follow him to make many wars (now scientists have found that even chimps can do that). Even church followers are initiated into faithful memberships by sworn oath and by ritual of baptism, Of course special requirements used to qualify a priesthood would be much more strict, stringent and binding. In the recent years tens of  thousands of priests are found to have committed sexual crimes. These priests know how to convince young kids and keep them quiet. There are enormous quantities of secrets and religious injustices or so called Inquisitions in some church history. That's why after centuries or millenniums, the masses of believers, even scholars, are still unaware of the exact history and development of their church, or of what they are told to believe and follow. What's more, trained priests are dangerously loyal to their church as they would even obey those most inhumane conditions and demands of celibacy (stay unmarried), which shows just how far the church would go to control their trained priests and employees. Religion also enjoy enormous political support to maintain respect and freedom of action. 

 

There has been a big fight going on historically between church organizers and national authorities for the appointment of priest leaders or the control of religious organization. There are fights of controls between churches, resulting in many religious sets breaking away from control of Vatican. A foreign controlled congregation could act as political Trojan Horse, especially when followers are initiated to follow by sworn oath or baptism. 

The following list shows those who have become completely free of control from Vatican. The Anglican Church, The Evangelical Reform Churches, Evangelical Methodist Church, Baptist Church, The Church of Jehovah's Witness, The Free Church of Geneva, The Eastern Orthodox Churches, The Coptic Church of Egypt, The National Church of Greece, The Russian National Church, The Ethiopian Orthodox Church, The Armenian Apostolic Church, The Coptic Orthodox Church, The Assyrian Church, The Syrian Orthodox Church,,,, and more... All these churches would not have sought independence, if the Vatican had not used religious belief as a form of control. But why should the hearts and souls of a nation, or the belief of a people, be controlled by a foreign nation or foreign religious organization, or someone sitting in Rome? 

One and a half centuries ago, a Christian revolt lasted 16 years and cost millions of Chinese lives... The influence of a congregation makes it difficult to refuse mass action, especially for inexperienced youthful believers. When a super natural belief takes hold of the human mind, the result is always extreme passion and fanaticism, which can easily infatuate other companions. Because there is no logic in belief, therefore anything is possible! In some churches, during mass praying sections, followers are repeatedly excited and induced to tears and screams. Indeed they would cry out loud together in emotions for their Lord and Master. In extreme cases, now and then a whole congregation would commit mass suicide. This is because the guided prayer is such a infectious and persuasive tool for the sub-conscious, not the conscious  or logical mind. It is something to watch out for in the age of nuclear weapons. 

 

However not all religions use guided mass prayers. The Chinese ancestral worship and the Chinese version of Buddhism are individually and privately motivated spiritual practices. The reverence or praying to ones own ancestor is a purely private worship. Buddhism uses personal meditation and reflections to search and reach inner harmony with divine nature, or peace and perfection of ones own soul. Believers are not congregated in weekly meetings. There are no priests to guide your prayers, your belief and inclinations. Such worships have never been used by politicians for power struggles, riots, mass street demonstrations or conquest of wars, at least never in China. When there is no party politics to grab power or no trained priests to lead and arouse mass emotions, how can there be mass movements? When religions teach the search for inner perfection, how can a society not be peaceful and harmonious? The personal search of spiritual wisdom and inner harmony also helps to prevent being persuaded by external influence and confusions. That's why Chinese history has been mostly taken up by the tradition of ancestral worship, Confucian philosophy and Chinese Buddhism. All of them are sober and pretty down to earth!

 

There is also a common mythological practice that stems from the worship of the Sun. For instance, the life giver or Creator symbolizes the Sun. The strong symmetry of sun light symbolizes the Cross. Sun on the center of light cross symbolizes Crucifixion. Sun's setting and rising symbolize crucifixion and resurrection. The 12 Zodiacal Mansions are symbolized by the 12 Apostles or disciples. Light and Truth symbolize the constancy of sun power. The Son (Sun) of God resembles sun, the God. The Virgin, symbolizes purity, un-worldliness, because the original or ancient beginning of the Zodiac was Virgo. The walking on water symbolizes sun's reflection on water. Dec 25th symbolizes 3  days after Winter Solstice gives new Sun. Mar 21st, Spring Equinox or Easter. The return of Spring also symbolizes Resurrection, etc, etc.. These symbolic descriptions all represent the phenomena of the Sun. 

 

Many scholars maintain that Jesus, the man, never existed. He is but a concocted mythological existence, just like many of the mythological deities created in various ancient cultures. It makes good sense, if one examines the strong and numerous similarities between the different deities as well as the mythological details of their birth and life against the non-historical but religious descriptions of Jesus. Unlike Buddha who was a real Indian prince, or Mohammed who was a prophet with a full and comprehensive family tree known and traceable in civic history, Jesus was purely a Biblical story written by the church people without any supporting facts and figures from history. It's also quite impossible to explain that Jesus, a human, should have similar actual life story comparable to many purely symbolic and mythological figures that predated his time by many centuries, especially so similar with the legendary sun god Mithra who was the most popular Pagan sun god of Roman Empire at the time of conversion to Christianity. It's even difficult to imagine what extreme measures had to be used to make people believe and follow whole heartedly.. Not for a million years before or after the time of New Testament, can a female egg alone bear a child without fertilization by a male sperm, so how was Jesus born out of virgin mother? The writers of Bibles knew as well as any of us. How could a man nailed by hands and feet to bleed dry, and died, then one or two days later the dried dead body became life again? Those Bible writers knew that too! Because such simple facts are timeless!

 

I have barely touched the surface here. There are many books on this subject of similarity between Jesus and above said mythological deities, i.e. books like " The Origins of Christianity and quest for Historical Jesus Christ", "Christ conspiracy, the greatest story ever sold", "Suns of God, Krishna, Buddha and Christ unveiled", by Acharyas S. etc,... There are many older book-form encyclopedias and books describing the life of the above mythological deities, also web-sites and web encyclopedias, such as "en.Wikipedia.org", " toolong.com", "truthbeknown.com", to name just a few, but there are lots more. Gradually new publications on history of religions in different ancient cultures are revealing close similarity in their stem and creation. They would undoubtedly change the entire belief in the belief of religious stories in the coming decades. The life stories of all the mentioned historic deities are more than interesting. They also show the correlation and evolution of religions in the East, Middle East and Europe..    

 

{Note: The following list shows religious sets that had become independent and free of control from the Vatican. The Anglican Church, The Evangelical Reform Churches, Evangelical Methodist Church, Baptist Church, The Church of Jehovah's Witness, The Free Church of Geneva, The Eastern Orthodox Churches, The Coptic Church of Egypt, The National Church of Greece, The Russian National Church, The Ethiopian Orthodox Church, The Armenian Apostolic Church, The Coptic Orthodox Church, The Assyrian Church, The Syrian Orthodox Church,,,, and more... All these churches would not have sought independence, if there wasn't some kind of fights for control. But why should the hearts and souls of a nation be controlled by a foreign nation or foreign church organization, or just someone sitting in Rome? Therefore the fight goes on for appointments of head priests!} 

Now, let's go back to Paganism. The Roman Pagan worship that flourished during the 1st to 4th century in Europe and the whole of Roman Empire was the direct adaptation from Persian (or Iranian) religion. The central figure was the sun god, Mithra. He was the Patron God for all Roman emperors before the Christian take-over. He was god of heavenly light, all-seeing, the guardian of oath, protector of the righteous in this world and the next. And above all, as arch-foe of the powers of evil and darkness, he slays the sacred bull. However much of  the real nature of Mithra was and still is hidden behind the human image of Jesus.  .

The following is a very brief account of Mithra's mythological legend. Which is practically same as Jesus, therefore impossible to be accidental or coincidental. Mithras was born on December 25th by virgin birth, the son of the primary Persian deity, Ahura Mazda. Mithra's birth was witnessed by 3 shepherds and magi. He slew the white bull, healed the sick and cast out demons. Therefore was also the God of War. He had a Lord's Supper. His day of worship was Sunday. He was killed and resurrected, returned to heaven on the spring equinox after a last meal with his 12 disciples, eating "mizd" - a piece of bread marked with a cross (an almost universal symbol of the sun). etc., etc..

 

The Mithraic cult peaked around the year 300 AD when it became the official religion of the Roman empire. It was during the reign of Diocletian (284-305 AD), and Mithra was the Patron God of emperors. It was no wonder that Diocletian was forced to persecute the invading Christianity and tried to eliminate it. At that time, in every town and city, in every military garrison and outpost from Syria to the Scottish frontier, was to be found a Mithraeum and officiating priests of the cult. This is not to suggest that the Mithraic cult was the only one with akin characteristics, many other gods had similar aspects of mythology (e.g. resurrection, virgin mother etc)..."...  (The above description could easily be read from the Internet in the first half of 2006 and before. Now it is advisable for readers to read from one of the many books on Mithra's life. I would recommend one of the books by Acharyas S. However, I shall discuss also more later in this page).

 

This historic Mithra cult was exclusively for the male, fighters and soldiers, even bandits in secrecy. Females are not allowed. The committed or initiated members must under go various degrees and ordeals of intensive ritual initiation, such as purification, including baptism, according to different levels of ranks. The mark of ranks would be painted on the forehead of the initiated to mark him henceforth as a recruit in the army of Mithra, sworn to combat the enemy or the evil. At the head of each group was a Pater (Father) or a priest, and at each large center or organization was a Pater Patrum, a leader or a bishop. During the rituals of worship the devoted would wear the mark of his rank on the forehead and a cross will be painted on the forehead of the leading priest. The slaying of the bull was a central theme in Pagan chapels, called the "spelaea" (grottoes), which were often caves or underground crypts.

 

The scene of Mithra slaying bull was the crowning episode in the Mithraic myth and in its rituals. The scene normally included a scorpion attacking the genitals of the bull, a serpent drinking its blood and a dog springing towards the wound in its side. Sun-god raven, lion and ewer were some times added, depicting the attack on the enemy or victim by these allies in coalition, using any means available. And framing the scene was the signs of Zodiac... Although Mathraism was the main worship, big and small groups were also controlled in private hands. The above description also fits well with the structure of some secret societies, brotherhoods and masked organizations due to Mathraism's special characteristics of secrecy and martial qualities. Original form of Paganism are still worshipped today by some. It's also obvious that some such secret worships are direct legacies of the Roman past, believing that the invincible sun God would give them powers to conquer and win wars. In fact, much of such main Pagan characters of secrecy are also hidden in Christianity, for instance even the Cathedrals conceal a Pagan temple, Pantheon, within them. Emperor Constantine never lost a war. However, most of his wars were not significant, the most significant victory was the war with his own brother-in-law at the Milvian Bridge....

 

Emperor Constantine's blending Paganism with Christianity left many other traces showing that it was no coincidence, nor just a passing event. For instance, in the early images of Jesus and disciples, even the angels, a halo (or Sun) would be seen on their heads, but Jesus alone would have a halo and a cross on his head (the High Priest or leading priest of Paganism worn a cross on his forehead).

This cross would disappear during Renaissance, roughly sometime in Leonardo da Vinci's life time (1452-1519). On the left is an early painting by Michelangelo (1475-1564), in which a cross was still painted inside the halo on Jesus' head.  This picture depicts Jesus as the source of blinding light (the sun)  The apostles in front are using their hands to block the blinding light. The halo and the cross were discontinued in Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper" (painted 1495-1498) and Michelangelo's "Creation of Adam" (painted 1508-1512) of the "Sistine Ceiling".

Later, after the halos had disappeared, a much more realistic or earthly looking thorn crown (symbolic rays) is often seen in its place. The scorching and blinding power of Light God (Sun) that won wars, made conquests and burned heretics alive had been transformed to be a figure of sympathy. The knife wielding bull slaying image of soldiers' God (Mithra) has become the sacrificial lamb. But not quite! A sacrificial lamb and a Savior would not have allowed such deeds as "Spanish Inquisition", or burning heretics alive, not even Christian Crusades, or in colonial conquests, or wars and conquests of any kind, which have plagued the human world and Christian history for the last two thousand years. And now, or in the future, would it have any influence on the nuclear weapon age, or any influence on the last decade of conflicts in the Middle East? So what is really behind such worship where layers upon layers of undeclared historical secrets and beliefs are stacked?...

 

The following black and white graphic shows the inside of Pantheon now standing in Rome. Pagan religion flourished in the first 5 centuries CE all over Europe and through out the Roman Empire. The Roman Pantheon was built between 27 BC and 128 AD and was the main place of worship for the peaking Roman Paganism. The main body of the temple is a semi-spherical shape on top, which is a dome depicting the sun. At the center of the dome is a round hole, called the "eye" or "Oculus" (see small graph on the right). Sunshine could come through this oculus to be worshipped (see graphic on the left), but also could the rains.

However, this hole or the eye would be capped by a tower like structure on all later Cathedral or church domes, which serves to stop the rains from pouring through, but it also serves to conceal the oculus when viewed from outside or at a distance. Thus all churches and cathedrals with a dome are in fact structurally Pantheon like buildings capped with a  tower, which conceals the oculus, while the sun shine can still come through.

The Pantheon in Rome was the first building with a dome that would become churches, even parliamentary buildings all over the world, symbolize a structure of power and authority (the Sun), and not the pitifully crucified sacrificial lamb...

Therefore all this type of Cathedral or church with a dome capped by a super structure all over the world, in effect, conceals a Pagan temple within.  Even the Gothic style churches or Cathedrals with sharp structures pointing skywards symbolize rising sun rays from the building. All these above show emperor Constantine had effectively taken most of the essential worship of Paganism and called it Christianity, which would pass on until today. That's why he retained his office of "Pontifex Maximus", the High Priest of Paganism, even while he became the head of Christian church. This further indicates why the story of Jesus is practically the story of Pagan god Mithra. And why Mithra's birthday (Dec 25th) was officially adopted to become the Nativity of Jesus, the Christmas, and why the Jewish Passover was changed to be the Easter (Constantine decreed it at Nicaeaen council, 325 AD), which was spring festivals in honour of Pagan fertility goddesses and the events associated with them were celebrated at the time of Easter...  And the story of the Bible was written, telling the same single story as the mythological tale of Pagan Sun God, Mithra, who is seen above slaying the sacred bull...

These churches are indeed enormous and magnificent historic monuments. Some of them took more than half a millennium to build and complete. These tremendous churches are also the monuments and relics of untold human efforts of the entire countries and people of Europe who paid taxes for the buildings during those long centuries of absolute rule under religious canon. In fact, only a few short decades ago, in the 20th century, people in Germany were still paying the Church Tax (Kirchen Steuer) from their incomes. Of course, no ordinary person brought up and baptized since childhood would want to run the risk of being excommunicated by the authorities of the Almighty God. Imagine the riches and the powerful hold on people religion once had, which have become the memory of the past.!   

 

However, the secret behind the entire series of tragic happenings lies in the true identity and influence of Constantine's birth mother Helena who was made a Saint by the Christians. Helena, who was obviously either a Jewish descend, or an ardent Christian member, or at least was closely related to some Christians in her family, because her divorce was a far beyond reasonable, or comprehensible event, but due to unusual inconvenience, history chose not to be truthful in reporting its passage. But let me put down the background first... Historically Diocletian was credited for his policy of persecuting the Christians and Jews, for which his deputy Maximian was naturally responsible for carrying out the job. It was during that period (289 AD) Constantine's father Constantius divorced Helena in order to marry Maximian' daughter. It indicates that Maximian was instrumental to the divorce of Helena. Then, unexpectedly Constantius scored a military success in Britain by putting down the Saxon pirate Carausius and became a power to be reckoned with. But soon Constantius died in Britain and his power was passed on to son Constantine, because the army proclaimed him to be Augustus. However Constantine's succession of power could be official only when Maximian legitimized it. Maximian also gave Constantine his own daughter Fausta in marriage. However when Constantine gained power over Roman Empire, a series of most unusual things began to happen, indicating that influence had also come from his mother Helena, and obviously all her friends, supporters and advisers... 

There were many compelling reasons in the background and in that inopportune historical time. Let me list them out:- 

1), Helena was divorced in 289 AD, when Diocletian was pushing the policy of persecuting Christians and Jews in his attempt to stop the invasion of that foreign cult, and Maximian, as the deputy emperor, was faithfully executing those policies. 

2), At the time, Pagan worship was at its historic peak and Sun God Mithra was the all important "patron god" for Roman emperors. In other words, the emperor's authorities were absolute and indisputable, al because he was chosen by gods to rule. 

3), Diocletian was a religious man. He strongly believed, or strongly used the belief, that he was destined by gods to become the emperor, and there had been some unusual events to help him think that way. So, his authorities were god given. All was going well for him except the invading foreign cult of Christianity was threatening to mess up the traditional belief and his authorities. It was no small matter, especially because that sprout of new cult did not help to bring orders and peace to the preceding anarchic days. Diocletian obviously had little choice but to stop it! Only it was too late!

4), There was no reports of any strong family discords between Constantius and his wife, or any serious misconducts on the part of Helena, because only very serious misconducts could give reasons to divorce, especially because Helena had a young son, Constantine, who was only 9 years old, and could grow up to rule someday. 

.5), The real reason behind Helena's divorce, despite all the obscured details and unfitting rhetoric, was specifically and obviously the persecution of Christians and Jews, which was carried out by Maximian on Helena, probably with some insistence. Maximian had probably discovered Helena's identity with Christian or Jews only during the talks about marrying his step-daughter Theodor to Constantius. Of course Helena's divorce appeared to benefit Theodora somewhat, but not necessarily so. However, it would not be possible for an imperial family to consist of Christian members at the time. So, if Helena was some kind of a Christian or Jew, Maximian was only faithfully carrying out his duties.  

6), Four years after Helena's divorce, Diocletian still issued some Edicts (203 and 304 AD) regarding persecution of Christians. Unfortunately to his big surprise they stimulated not only  unexpected escalation of violence to the persecution, but also violent reactions. So he decided to resign and retire (305 AD). He also knew it was unwise to let Maximian to stay on. So he urged Maximian to resign with him, otherwise no emperor would persuade a deputy emperor to resign too! 

7), The disagreement between Maximian and son Maxentius causing father to leave son, then went to join son-in-law indicated that Maximian had two daughters to worry about, but already things were already out of control between the two young emperors and brothers-in-law. Poor old man Maximian was stuck in between, powerless to reverse the situation. There was only one reason to cause all that, i.e.. the continuous reminder of Helena''s divorce in daily living together.    

8), The divorce of Helena, the marriages of Maximian's daughters, the disagreement between father Maxmian and son, the slaying of Maximian as well as Fausta and Crispus, etc., in fact the whole huge serious of horrific family tragedies were all reported in history with sensitive and obscured descriptions, until the battle of Milvian Bridge, which suddenly revealed that everything, and the sensitivities, were related to the upsurge of Christianity and to the muddled merciless struggles between Mithra and Jesus, which in the end had to merge into one. It happened in the time of upheaval when the society was engaged in struggle of two religions and revenge for persecutions. 

9), The extraordinary loyalty of Helena to Christianity was demonstrated by her return to Jerusalem and her claim to have found the Cross on which Jesus was crucified. Any good and experienced historian would have understood that the biblical story of Jesus was mirrored not only by Mithra's legend, but also by so many early mythological deities, therefore there was no such a Cross, but Helena was no historian, and she wanted to make it real. Then of course she was rewarded with a Sainthood, which even her son, the founder of Roman Christianity and the first Catholic Supreme Pontiff did not have the privilege. This indicated that Helena was even more important to the rising cult, and that she was a force and not a push-over.   

10), Nothing else on earth could have explained why Diocletian made Maximian resign, and did not make his own offspring successor to the crown. Nor can anything explain how a man, Constantine, could bring himself to the point of killing his own wife and first son, as well as his father-in-law who was responsible for making both his father and himself emperors. Only the inopportune time and circumstances of feud and revenge of religious persecution could have caused it.

11), The battle of Milvian Bridge exceptionally emphasized the Christian connection and the significance of revenge for both sides of the family tragedy. The final damage also fully displayed the tragic failure of original goodwill to bond  imperial families with marriage, which otherwise could well extend for generations to come, and could have changed the fate of Roman empire altogether. 

12), Only blindness of religious belief, prejudice and threats could have started those tragic actions. Only blindness could allow unwise decision to marry two daughters into the family whose mother you have persecuted with divorce. Only blindness would allow revenge to go to that extent and to kill so many marriage relatives, of whom some had already children. Only extremely persistent religious obstinacy and prejudice would insist and expand the tragic controversy into the Dark Ages, even until it could finally become a time bomb in distant future. In conclusion, only the divorce of Helena for her being a Christian or Jewish descend could answer all the obscurity behind the entire drama of religious tragedies and cruelties! At any rate, history is meant to be studied, to be understood, to learn from, and not to be covered up...

Having observed hitherto the history of early Christianity, we have enough information to make a partial summary at this junction. Firstly, after conversion to Christianity emperor Constantine still retained that centuries old Pagan title Pontifex Maximus, as head of the brand new Christianity he had just established.. Even today the Christian Pope remains as Pontifex or Pontiff or Pontifex Maxmus (Supreme Pontiff), and priests as "Father" (also Pagan legacy, originally "Pater"). Secondly, in 325 AD under Constantine's reign (he died in 337 AD) the Christian Sabbath day (Saturday, the original 7th day of Creation, the day of worship, as in Christian Ten Commandment) was officially changed to Sunday (the original 1st day of Creation, or the Sun's day, which was Pagans' day of worshipping the sun). Thirdly, same year 325 AD, the Christian or Jewish festivity of Passover was officially replaced by Pagan worship of Easter. Fourthly,  as seen above, the halo and cross on Jesus' head disappeared only during Renaissance (see above). Fifthly, in 350 AD Sun god Mithra's birthday was officially adopted as Jesus' birthday, the Christmas. Sixthly, Jesus' life story is equivalent to Mithra's life story, i.e. born of virgin mother, born in stable, witnessed by 3 wise men of the East, 12 disciples, Last Supper, crucifixion, resurrection, etc., etc.. Seventhly, Pagan baptism, including drawing a watery cross on the forehead was adopted. Eighthly, the Cathedrals concealed a  Pagan temple within. etc., etc.... 

 

These are clearly major historical facts, which show that they are no coincidences, nor accidents, but deliberate official acts  intended to retain essence of Pagan worship inside Christian worship, even officially and decidedly replacing essential Christian elements to essential Pagan elements, even centuries after conversion to Christianity. Such official decrees have been passed down the years ever since the Roman time, showing that the title and office of Supreme Pontiff and priests, the main substance (the Biblical life story), the format of worship, the religious festivities, the image itself, even the temple of worship all retain the essence of Paganism. Practically all the Pagan essence are kept intact in Christianity except the name. These deliberate measures were enforced not just by one Constantine Emperor, but also by centuries of church authorities through the entire Dark Ages. This leaves us today many big questions.   

 

It is only natural to ask what does a Christian believer really worship? Prayers are the most important and intimate communications between the worshiper and the worshiped. If the address or identity of the worshiped are somewhat mixed up or unclear, then where would the prayers go to? After all there are clearly three religions involved and mixed (Judaism, Christianity and Paganism). If the ultimate Lord and Master is Mithra, then wouldn't it be better to pray to the sun directly? If all the fuss is about Jesus being God's son, then pray to Jesus! But God has never agreed that He did make Jesus His son! Everyday there are millions of sick and dying people in hospitals praying with all their hearts and soul, or people trapped under debris of earthquakes, or people in serious difficulties, all praying for urgent help and blessing for their themselves and their family. Which divine deity should they turn to and pray to? Doesn't anybody care if their prayers are received or heard of or not? And how does anybody expect prayers to be answered? No wonder there had to be Dark Ages. Are humans really decidedly out of the darkness even now? .  

 

It becomes equally obvious to ask why did both political and religious rulers do all that? To do that they have to be sure of two things. Firstly, they knew there is no God at all, or God can be changed or slighted at will. Secondly, it was far more important to use two religions as one to serve political purposes. Indeed, since some 4 centuries earlier Pagan worship had already developed into an un-removable and popular worship at its peak all over Roman Empire and Europe, especially the important days and festivities, such as Sundays and Spring Easters. Also that planned uprising of new belief had just served successfully not only to stop but also to revenge the Christian persecution, and the momentum could not be stopped either. Besides, it was only because the legends of gods were similar (except their names) that had helped the new worship to slip into the Empire during those earlier chaotic and anarchic days. So, the only way was to officially mix the two religions into one, and then use absolutely stringent laws and measures to enforce the mixed results, because neither Paganism, nor Christianity, could be abruptly made to disappear cleanly. So Constantine officially reinstalled the Sunday and Easter, and so on, back into the new mixture. This path the way for the tortures and burning-alive of the "heretics" later on. And the momentum built until the church had to rule above political authorities, and belief had to over power rationality.

 

There was an unexpected "by-product" emerging out of the duel religion, as it had duel usage, for duel purposes! But we will come to that later. Meanwhile, at this junction we can't help but to go back a bit and ask a few vital questions, because these are questions that any 21st century person would ask. Indeed when and how, and under what circumstances exactly was the New Testament actually written?  How could so many details of the life of a human, Jesus, get to tangle, even coincide with that of Pagan sun god Mithra, a typical ancient mythological deity similar to those in Vedic, Greco and Egyptian religions, in fact, the entire background of Western civilization? Since exact historical records had been obscured or omitted, then did the person Jesus actually exist? If so, then exactly when? And why are there no official records for such an important existence and event in history? Under what exact conditions and who had organized the recognizable and parallel image of gods to become such a force and influence? And since Jesus was officially condemned to death for blasphemy by claiming to be God's son, and God never came forth to support his claim. In which case, Jesus' crime still stood! How did the early followers shoulder the offense and spread it openly around? Then how, when and why was Jesus elevated to become the central figure of the worship? So many mythological figures and religions with same or similar tales and legends have already faded into the background of history, why alone Jesus persisted with such vigor, even today? 

 

Thus layers upon layers of mysteries were stacked up and built up over centuries under the extreme authority of the church, while the religion continue to grow to such colossus status and proportions during the Dark and Medieval ages, while practically all human resources were focused and spent on the vast church organization, the cathedrals, the church army and navy, etc., etc... But now we are living in  the 21st century. We do have some intelligence! Our streets, our televisions are full of means and efforts, pounding and persuading our youth to believe, follow and love Jesus. There is an undeniable ambition on the part of church to expand globally. Don't you think people are entitled to ask a few questions and try to understand the backgrounds? At any rate, those things happened at one of the Age in the 12 Constellations, which was some 2000 years ago, or the beginning of the Piscean Age, the age of religion, of make belief, of confusion and intrigues symbolized by two fishes swimming in opposite directions. Don't you think it's high time to visualize what it was like to live in that age? Meanwhile, nearly two thousand years have nearly passed and billions upon billions of humans of all nations have been led and persuaded to believe, to be influenced, convinced, and to kneel, to pray, to obey, to love, to worship, to donate money, to pay church taxes, to be baptized and committed or to submit to the super natural Lord and Master under the will, the persuasion and the policy of the church. Only 4000 years ago intellectuals like Giordano Bruno was imprisoned, tortured burnt alive for not believing the exact doctrines of the church. Precious human blood had flown under the swords of warring Christian Crusaders, or the Chinese civil war initiated by Christian believers under the group name "The Heavenly Father, Heavenly Brother (meaning Jesus) and Heavenly Peace Kingdom" that caused multi-million lives. Religion, at least some of them, proves to be a life and death business, not just fun and harmless gatherings for uninformed and trusting kids, especially kids of far away nations that have totally different concept and traditions of religion. Why does Christian churches have such global ambitions, despite they alone know that they had brought dark and painful days to their own past. Why do politicians support such religion to spread and control the mind and spirits of foreign people?

 

If the Vatican want to continue exerting authorities and influences over its ministers, subjects and followers, and if the church still wants to continue preaching and describing Jesus as a historical figure and not a fabled mythological deity, then it's time both the church and Vatican should reveal some dependable historical details and proofs. It's time the church should at last unveil to the over one billion Catholic believer today the mysteries that tangled Jesus to Mithra? After all, the church alone knows all the history because it's difficult to destroy history deliberately, and some essential evidences should still remain undisclosed in the church hands. Isn't it also about time the church is made accountable to history and civilization for all its actions, and therefore, all the consequences it has caused? Besides, this is the 21st century, the age of logics, rationality, science, and in this highly complex and lawful society of ours, there are also increasing demands for legal protection against any crimes of frauds and deceits in social and economical interactions, especially in the education of the youth. In modern age of logics and exact science, the acquisition or spread of information requires strict truth or proof as basic and essential legal support! Today some Christian nations prohibit the teaching that God is the Creator in their own schools, does that means they should continue to support "Freedom" for church's teaching and belief of Creationism in other countries?         

 

Now let's go back to our earlier mentioned of "by-product" emerging out of the duel religion, as it had duel usage for its duel purposes. The duel usage was, and still is, the open image of Jesus and the concealed identity of Mithra, or the sacrificial lamb and the God of war, because Roman Empire had to live always by the sword. Politicians and the military worshiped part of the duel religion in secrecy, which was the legacy of worshiping Mithra in secretive caves, or underground crypts (similar to secret societies and brotherhoods, also worship gods in caves and use rituals to confirm memberships). That's why medieval paintings show only Jesus' head-halo or corona had a Cross in it to mark that he was the supreme priest of the cult according to Pagan legacy. Such duel and rather open worship of Mithra under Christianity was only made invisible after middle of 15th century. The duel worship was effectively used to form Christian allies and to conquer Southern America (using Mithra, the war god) and to stabilized and control the conquered subjects (using Jesus, the lamb). Similar strategy was applied to many colonial conquests until Second Word War. It is still at the back of today's wars and religious maneuvers. However, as human intelligence advanced the aggressive side of the duel religion would be made progressively hidden. Nevertheless, the belief and therefore the interests is still alive. That's why military interests and political religions are still inseparable twins.               

 

With such a powerful and perfectly concealed identity, also its history and purpose, it's no wonder there has been so much desire of conquest and continued interests in military and political dominance even today. Religion is an extremely powerful tool to control and take charge of the brain and the heart, because it comes from "Belief", which is infectious but insensitive and unconscious of its extreme limits, at times not even the boundaries of middle grounds are unclear, because religion only works in the level of of the subconscious. Unfortunately it is not meant to be logical and clear! So it can go beyond rationality and can become over zealous or suicidal. Presently, because of wars, human society suddenly finds itself in the age of extremely useful but also destructive energies, the nuclear powers. But this is only the beginning of the age of colossal energy! Soon human life in the great cosmos will begin in earnest. Much greater and more dangerous energies will become a new reality. Every second in human life and civilization must be constantly aware of the extremes and middle grounds of social  political actions. Religion is not going to fit nicely in that process. Before this is fully understood, it is likely that ambitious political religious beliefs could yet bring about very dear costs and regrets to mankind!

 

It should be understood that non-political religion can also be a deep and serious spiritual pursuit that aged or advanced people are interested to comprehend the meaning of life and how to seek consoling extension of the physical life through spiritual understanding. It is also a purely individual matter of the soul that each human seeks to link his identity with his origin or his creator, be it the Nature or the ancestor. It is far from being a wholesale commodity to be advertised in TV, street corners, or roof tops, or used as party going gimmicks to lure the innocent youths to be sworn and committed, then turn them into votes or political capitals. That would be a sin in the eyes of proper religious principles. Religions can be so dangerous that once it demanded human sacrifices. Some of the biggest wars and cruelest religious deeds in history as well as senseless group suicides were caused by ominous religious belief.. Emperor Constantine was tinkling with religion when he killed all his supporting and loving family. Multi-million souls had perished during the Christian attempt to take over China about 150 year ago.  Supernatural psycho energy is also the stuff fearless martyrs are made of. Hence any impure or wrong kind of religion with secret motives is a dangerous nuclear time bomb, because it has accumulated so much indigestible and self conflicting energy for so long, so wide spread and by so many people. That's why its obscured history, concealed objective and hidden potentials should be exposed without further delay. 

 

Politicians should not further call and demand freedom for political religions, as long as their past wrongs are not made right under the full view of the world! Because through history some religions have been used to cloud, daze and bewilder the intellectual and rational mind, to rule and dictate over kings and governments, to make wars and conquests costing untold numbers of lives. It can be used to subdue believers with heart rendering music, with conducted prayers, with rituals of worship, as well as repeated pounding and enticing  of the subconscious and many other means available to turn a subject into religious fanatic, all while you already consciously aware that God is merely imaginary. It can use supernatural belief to control bishops and ministers for action in your village and towns, and to build its own army of faithful followers in your own land. Such church ministers will then inadvertently use their training for political purposes. Hidden or open political influences would bring about large street demonstrations to demand change in national politics and animosity between nationals and governments, or even between nations. Fervent or fanatical priests, like Dalai lama may be used for national separatism. In other words, religions, although not all religions, can be used to set up a Trojan Horse right in the heart of your own country. 

[Note:-  There were enough religious turmoil in the 19th century China. In 1835 the Catholic cathedral in Macaw was nurnt to ground or the 3rd tine. One Catholic leader Hong Siu Chuan , after preparing organization and gathering followers for some 10 years, officially launched his nation-wide arms revolt in 1843 against the Chinese Ching Dynasty , and nearly took over the rule of China. Hong also claimed to be “Son of God” and “Brother of Jesus”. So his new kingdom was gloriously named the "Heavenly Father, Heavenly Brother, Heavenly Peace Kingdom". It was the only religious unrest and killings ever occurred in Chinese history. Large bloody revolt started in 1850, which lasted 15 years and took over more than half of China (as many as 16 Chinese provinces).

It was so Heavenly Peaceful that actually multiple tens of millions had perished during those long civil war years, and even more were driven to poverty and hunger because majority of Chinese family were already made desperate due opium invasion and opium wars. In the end, according to General Zeng who broken into Nanking walled city, Hong Siu Chuan committed suicide. In fact, years later, historians had worked out statistically that during the decades of opium infested China, opium wars and Christian revolt about one quarter of Chinese population had vanished.]

Why priests must obey Catholic celibacy (marriage prohibited), while others could enjoy love, sex and precious family life? What oath have priests sworn for, religion or politics? It's only certain that priest know all the history of their church organization. Why were they willing to give up those basic human rights for their organization? They knew, as we have repeatedly shown above, that Christianity was purposely created with two hidden identities, alone with old Judaism, etc... The church organization obviously was fully aware that for some 3500 years since Old Testament, God's humanlike existence still has not been proven and that God has never approved the the claim that Jesus was his son. Isn't that a fact? Then why gave such efforts and time to make belief the story a worldwide phenomenon? As it would sooner or later fail. The reason was that the use of duel identity of the religion was more important. It had worked as a two prong weapon, which had been successfully deployed not only to conquer and rule for the Roman empire, but also to exterminate the Inca and Mayan cults, also to wipe out the Muslim influences in the post Muslim Spain, etc.. The two prongs served as a hard military arm as well as as a soft persuasive arm. 

 

The hidden hard prong was the bull slaying God of war Mithra, helped by his allies, the scorpion, the serpent, dog, sun god raven, ewer, etc.. This was why military conquests, including colonies, were often helped by Christian allies, and behind them  religious work would follow to persuade and soften down war reactions. Besides, the soft arm was safe and harmless, and could easily be used as a Trojan Horse! Thus, military and politics-religion became inseparable, and that's why politicians always call for freedom of religion! Despite the fact that at home they can't even allow God to be the Creator any more! That's how it had always worked! That's also why I have used the passed tense. The real snack is that now we have arrived in the nuclear weapon age. Powerful nuclear weapons bring also powerful problems! Great destructive energy brings great alert and warnings. It expedites even small nations to research and advance knowledge and general standard of science rapidly, especially nuclear sciences, which in fact are not difficult. Rapid advance of sciences exposes immediately the treacherous nature of irrational and implausible religions, especially political religions, and their unexposed crimes, e.g., sexual crimes. Nuclear energies, therefore weapons, cannot be stopped, in fact, soon far greater energies in many new atoms will be needed and found for space age. Weapons can be delivered or smuggled by air, sea and land. In short, we are in the age of massive or total destruction, any military ambition would end up in suicidal consequence. Yet, human history has been packed full with past bloody business, cruelties and treacheries to be accounted for. If a government were to be disabled for a few hours, immediately many wolves could pounce on it for the kill.   

 

Let's get back to history! The above are facts and records of history. That's why politics were always behind certain religions and those religions worked for politics, and vice versa.  If there was a God, then God would too almighty to demand people to be sworn and baptized and declare life long loyalty before God can trusted them enough to accept them. It was the church that made sure and taught them to beg or pray and submit with their heart and soul like a slave. Because those were the remnants of measures taken and imposed on followers during the days of Dark Age and earlier, they are still in use today. Political religion has a problem with the change of time and civilization, because almighty God can hardly be changed with time. God has to be forever, if not, it would not be God! And the grip and hold of belief would be lost. What modern people are witnessing are the remnants of ancient religions of those dark and raw days when people were made to kneel, to pray, to confess .. to call out to the Lord, the Master, the Father, the Almighty... and Jesus was the Savior, the Light, the Truth, and more... And if they didn't say they that they believed, they would be tortured or burnt alive... It was in fact how a slave would have been treated, or how they would have to react.  It was the absolute extreme that any civilization can experience or endure... Wasn't that what had happened in history?

 

History has an uncanny habit of repeating itself! Indiscriminate freedom, random desire and moral demise was what caused Moses to bring forth Ten Commandments. Anarchy and moral chaos was what gave grounds for Christianity to rise and make possible for religions and gods to mix in inseparable muddle, which then produced a whole millennium of Dark Ages when civilization and human  conscience were completely ruled by mythological belief. In both periods the norm of human nature was turned upside down, so much that emperor Constantine would kill his own wife and son, even his father-in-law who had made him and his father emperors. Strange enough, the time gap between Moses and Constantine was roughly 17 centuries, and from Constantine to our present time is also roughly 17 centuries. Also strange enough, both episodes were related to roots in Israel. Now we are again witnessing unrelenting aggressions and human rights problems in Israel/Palestine. We are also again witnessing the calls for freedom to the most fundamentals of human moral. Possession of guns, therefore killings, are free! Homosexual friendship or marriage are free and legally protected. Tens of thousands of priest are molesting young children in dozens of nations. Something even animals would not do.  So it appears human nature is again upside down and free-for-all is becoming the new order of our age. And yet, we are seeing all these amidst wars that are unnecessary and ungrounded, but free only for hugely war-equipped nations. All these are happening before our eyes in the age of nuclear weapons.       

 

History is absolutely important! Because it shows the path how a subject religion has passed through, and how it has evolved or developed to become what it is. History should never be omitted, obscured, forgotten, or made forgotten. Because for every action in nature there must be reaction, and for every cause there is a consequence. It's only a matter of time before action turns into reaction, or cause becomes consequence. No matter how long time may be! Wrongs must be righted, or forgiven before they can be put away as mere past events without any effects or influence on modern life.. Even then civilization must retain its essence in order to learn from the past. Historical wrongs can only be pardoned and exonerated through effective repentance and remorse, not cover-up. However, even if attempts are made to obscure or cover up, some traces always remain in next door or related societies. Even if they are buried, archeologist would still dig them up. By digging them out, one may still answer some of the important questions. For instance, "could any human, through out human history, born in flesh, yet live a life just like mythological deities?", if not, then who were those reported such existence? How, why and under what circumstance did they group themselves together to make the reports? "Obviously the church and its priests know the history of their religion, which is a combined product of both monotheistic and polytheistic religions?"  Then have they informed their church goers about the duel nature of their worship?", "Since there are so many gods, which one receives the prayers?", "Who or what is God anyway?"

 

The following stories should be repeatedly reminded to achieve reflection and repentance, until people are convinced that lessons have been learned, and no trace of political will is behind spiritual worships, or behind those kindly looking masks of priest faces.    

Giordano Bruno, who believed that the universe is edgeless and center-less, and that there are numerous suns, earths, etc.. Such theory was in opposition to the church's theory that the earth is the one and only center of universe, and that the Sun revolves around earth. So Giordano Bruno was imprisoned, tormented and tortured for 7 years and burnt alive in public at the stake in Rome in AD 1600 by the Roman Catholic church who at that time ruled above the authority of European kings... Imagine after 7 years of imprisonment, torture, torment and the horror of being burnt alive, Giordano Bruno still did not retract his scientific theory and rather chose death instead. Upon acceptance of his death sentence he told the church to this effect "You are more afraid of truth than I am afraid of death".  So they put his tongue in a gag to stop him talking and burnt him alive, and as always, in public view to scare others. Let's face it, no kings or emperors in history has ever reached that extent of public cruelty as the church, and in God's name! Yet today the church is still loved and revered. As far as Giordano's theory of universe is concerned, of course he was right, because that is what we know of the universe today...  In fact, the church should have the courage to officially and publicly recant from their own belief and their own theory to make good the past wrongs and join the modern world.

Joan of Arc was burnt alive too. Copernicus dared not publish his theory of solar system for decades until he became old, sick and laying in his death bed. Then only in his last breath he was finally able to hold his book in hand. Galileo was scared stiff and recanted his scientific theory, but was still put under house arrest for life. How many less important scholars or just courageous folks had been put through such tortures? In Spanish Inquisition, thousands had been burnt alive and their properties taken to be shared, but that's far too much to be described or listed here. One can imagine the depth of oppression and darkness of the "Dark Ages" days that had begun in the 4th century and finally ended only in the 17th century Renaissance.  So again, if there is a God, then He surely would have cared. If God is almighty, he would been able to change a few things in His church. And if such a simple deduction cannot be appreciated, then it's better to believe in ones own hard work, rather than to wake up someday to realize that all those urgent, solemn and heart burning prayers in ones whole life have gone nowhere, all because of emperor Constantine's revenge for prosecution of Christians and his mother. But if one enraged emperor can carry out his revenge, how about people like Giordano Bruno and millions of oppressed or tortured souls in church's hands over the Dark and Medieval Ages. Yet, all the public know about the church today is nothing but those kindly smiling priest faces. How did that ever come to happen?       

There are two extra major consequences that political religion brings to this world. Firstly, it diverts people from proper and rightful search to reach for divine vibrations in nature! Because for last 2000 years not only the church has taken up all the time, energy and space that allowed nothing else to exist in the West. Yet, there are other really worthwhile spiritual worships going on elsewhere, which Western people have no chance to experience and participate. Secondly, it sets up a political Trojan Horse in nations that allow it to grow and prosper, especially to remain in tight grip and direct control through its own trained priest to those innocent and unsuspicious followers in foreign lands. This could someday turn dangerous, because religious belief and energy are not a rational or logical, as long as belief and energy are not grouped or conducted, it could still be relatively harmless, but once it is organized and guided to act with political purposes, it could turn peace into riots and hell. It goes without saying, if the Trojan Horse is controlled in some foreign hands, sooner or later it will break loose to your regrets or even worst.. One cannot afford to neglect the past and the origin of any force or energy that seek to control the psyche of masses and turn it into conducted political actions. Therefore, the history is important as it can reveal the back ground of birth, the political nature and the intent of that religion as well as the past performances, in comparison with other religions. 

 

Let's explain why we have come to give the definition of  "political religion" here. The story about Jesus is not verifiable in civic or historical records, it is purely a story in Christian Bible, the New Testament, written by people who had formed a group to start the church. The descriptions of Jesus' life resemble many mythological deities worshipped in ancient India, Greece and Middle East, during the millennium prior to the time of Jesus. It is particularly similar with the mythological legend of sun god Mithra of Persia, a popular worship at the time of emperor Constantine. Such supernatural similarities include Virgin Birth, Resurrection after death, as well as Jesus' claim to be God's only son, all while God was an unknown and imaginary existence, etc., etc.. Such descriptions are purely supernatural and could never happen in any human life, back then or even now. However, it was the creator of Christian church in Roman Empire, Constantine, who first decreed the mixture of Christianity and Paganism, not for theological or spiritual reasons but for political purposes. Then such a mixture grew to become an absolute authority that dictated and dominated over practically all motivations in European social and private life. The church also collected enormous taxations to build huge churches and cathedrals, and to acquired military and navy forces. 

 

Then the church ruled by force over European king and governments until the arrival of Renaissance in 17th century. Thus From historical records Christianity has always proved to be a political motivation, or a ruling authority rather than a soul searching religion. However, if anyone thinks that's amazing, he would yet be surprised big time! Because religion has already triumphantly moved one class bigger and higher in the secular world of international politics. It has become a sovereign nation!!! One of the very powerful voting members of the United Nations. Now it can officially and conveniently join all non-religious or purely political entities to affect and interfere national and global politics, including decisions to impose economic sanctions, or military actions, or anything the UN is empowered to do! Judging from the conquests religion has won over centuries, and its obvious global ambitions (even in the Roman Empire days), given opportunities, perhaps someday such a religious nation could yet turn our UN into a kneeling, praying, and begging establishment, run by an imaginary God. Why not? God is almighty, using the Almighty anything is possible. Hasn't that been done over the millenniums already? Hasn't the church once already ruled above European government and king? And had already made them submit, obey and pray!!! Don't forget it has many faces and images, even hidden identities. It can turn on whatever face it has, whenever it wants. Although its image as "The Saviour" didn't even save the eventual plunder of Roman Empire, nor did it  saved the tragic deaths in Constantine's own family, the very emperor and family that had founded and built the base of Jesus worship ...

Political religion have been a powerful drug to the mind and a dictate of belief for two thousand years. It had also prevented Western people from knowing and experiencing other religious encounters and true spiritual experiences. But there are many other religions that are truly soul purifying, unimposing and free of political motives. Other religions did not use armed forces, nor have they resolved to use of mass psychology, or lead a congregation with conducted prayer until people follow in trance. They do not send people to knock on people's door, or the need of street adverts. They let people meditate and contemplate by themselves until they reach comprehension. Their history and records are unadulterated with politics, military conquests, imprisonments, tortures or death by burning people alive, or priest sexual crimes. Many such soul searching religions do not require additional ritual commitment, such as baptism, to make doubly sure of your loyalty and allegiance. They do not need absolute obedience to their Lord and Master. 

 

Buddhism is a religion that encourages people to think for themselves. The medias of practice is the use of meditation in solitude and deep reflection in the attempt to comprehend what's life, death, desires, human struggles and sufferings. How to seek enlightenments and spiritual connections with Divine Nature. Through comprehension, control and self-perfection one can attain a state of supreme spiritual awareness and therefore true freedom. This is a soul searching religion and has nothing to do with politics, persuasion, dictation, induction, punishments or conduction to acquire loyalty and allegiance... I know nothing about Muslim region, so I will leave it alone here... However, one thing is sure, science, education and rationality compel us to realize the that God has never created humans. It was humans who had created God a few thousand years ago! But then who are the true makers of human beings? This is something we can be sure and I do feel good and confident to talk about!     

 

Well, the real creator of human body and soul is the human ancestor! That's why Chinese people worship their ancestors. The history of Chinese ancestor worship goes back some 6000 years. Large numbers of ancient relics written with early signs or scripts on bones 

and turtle shells have been unearthed by archeologists. Ancestral worship has been the longest lasting spiritual worship in human history, and will continue, even if all other religions should have disappeared.

What could be more important than to remember, worship and to express our love and gratitude to our true creators. Even an animal knows its own parent would die in protecting its offspring.  Our ancestors have loved, struggled and laboured like slaves to make sure our survival and well being. Our ancestors are still living in our body as our DNA. Their images are real and not imaginary, nor mythological. When we worship them, we love, revere and remember those real and familiar images in our hearts. What can be more intimate and fulfilling than to recall and revisit the love, warmth and trust of a family life. That's why ancestral worship is not only real, but also meaningful, spiritual, loving and a happy practice. No worship of inconceivable and  imaginary gods can possibly replace ancestral worship. That's why it never has changed over the entire Chinese civilization. Besides, if there should be an after-life after all, then ancestors and offspring would meet again. Is that not something worthwhile hoping for?  

I think I have said enough! Let's turn to some recent events. The present Catholic Pope, Benedict, the 16th, had given a 2005 Christmas message.

He said "Men of this technological age risk becoming victims of the successes of their intelligence and the results of their operative capabilities, if what they obtain is spiritual atrophy and an emptiness in the heart. So it is important for us to open our minds and hearts to the birth of Christ, this event of salvation, which can give new hope to the life of each human being.”. 

I do have great respects and hopes for this Pope, because he has heavy and difficult burdens on his shoulders, and is trapped by the duty of being Pope. I do believe that this Pope has the guts needed and the motivation to instigate new course. I also believe he does realize that human history and religious belief are heading for either one huge and brave change or great destruction... Only I do not agree with all his views.  Although I think he meant well in the above statement, and I applause his concern for the "emptiness in the heart". But he knows more than any people that Dec 25th was not the birthday of Jesus. The emptiness of heart cannot be filled with imaginary mythological existences, it can however be easily filled with the worship and reverence of ones own ancestors, who are not just real but also the real creator of our life. How can the still un-erased memories of the Dark Ages "give new hope to the life of each human being”? Unless they are fully exposed, then erased by proper and sincere repentance. I say this, not intending to disrespect the Pope at all. It's just unfortunate, it must be said because the hope of future mankind lies in the truth that is told...Not political or religious rhetoric.... 

(In Mid Sept 2006, the Pope made an unprovoked attack on Islam by quoting a 14th century Byzantine Christian Emperor Manuel Paleologos II's remark on Islam, saying that Mohammed had brought on ".... only evil and inhuman. Such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached...". He then gently apologized for his remarks. That's what I mean that this Pope has guts and considerations! I have hopes on him that he will use tolerance and forbearance in judging what I write too!    .  

The following was what Pope Benedict said on Christmas day of 2006 regarding the right to religious freedom.

"The duty to respect the dignity of each human being, in whose nature the image of the Creator is reflected, means in consequence that the person can not be disposed of at will. Those with greater political, technical, or economic power may not use that power to violate the rights of others who are less fortunate. Peace is based on respect for the rights of all. Conscious of this, the Church champions the fundamental rights of each person. In particular she promotes and defends respect for the life and the religious freedom of everyone. Respect for the right to life at every stage firmly establishes a principle of decisive importance: life is a gift which is not completely at the disposal of the subject. Similarly, the affirmation of the right to religious freedom places the human being in a relationship with a transcendent principle, which withdraws him from human caprice. The right to life and to the free expression of personal faith in God is not subject to the power of man. Peace requires the establishment of a clear boundary between what is at man's disposal and what is not: in this way unacceptable intrusions into the patrimony of specifically human values will be avoided".

I feel compelled to add the followings :- The "Creator", which the Pope referred to above was pointing to the ancient Jewish script that "God created man in his own image", not authentic words spoken or written by God Himself. After some 2000 years of insistence on God's creation, today even God's own existence is not yet proven. In the meantime science, logics, and intelligence have proven by facts beyond any doubt that human life is developed through evolution. We all know that all religions were invented by man subsequent to civilization, therefore in fact man had created God. The other way round cannot be verified by facts or proof. Again, "a relationship with a transcendent principle which withdraws him from human caprice" would seem wonderful, if only the church can completely detach herself from interest in ungodly politics. Religion was what spelled the end of Roman Empire and the beginning of Dark Ages. Two millenniums of experience in meddling with politics should be enough to teach humans some good lessons. If no lessons are heeded, it could still spell the end of United Nations, even the beginning of nuclear confrontation. To start with, the Catholic believers should never have caused the demise of Inca and Mayan cults in Southern America, or meddled with another religion today and completely stay away from politics in the Middle East, or any secular politics in the UN or any nations in the world, otherwise there are bound to be consequences.   

This being said, the thought of God is meaningful and charitable to the human soul, only if the church history and performance had always been pure religion and not politics or dominion rules, past or present. To discard or transform the past for the present, sincere and convincing directives are required. As to "The right to .... the free expression of personal faith in God is not subject to the power of man", this would depend on whether God is mental or real. Every human being has the right to truth and protect himself from unreal educations or capricious impositions. In fact, until the day the Creator shows His unknown and undisclosed face to the human public, His image would neither be human, nor anything else, but will only be reflected in the suffering of Spanish Inquisitions and Dark Ages, etc.,  for one whole millennium when freedom of belief was unthinkable to the church. Why has that become God's image? Because whatever the church had done, it was all done in God's name and in His image! With such length of history and overwhelming multitudes of extreme tragic records it should be more than adequate to form the image of God and His organization. True or false?

Lastly, the real Creator of the human being is the human ancestor, therefore the relationship between ancestral creators and descendants with a transcendent principle is a natural and humane consequence. Any attempts or persuasions to divert or alter that intimate natural bondage for some unnatural allegiance are bound to encounter objections. Therefore, it's clear that freedom of religion is not an absolute or automatic right! The permission for imposition and acceptance of capricious teachings and beliefs must be subject to personal or national approvals, which are the proper and absolute human rights. Absolute human right is the right to protect natural and humane values from unnatural, unreal and unacceptable intrusions... That is why in some advanced nations there are now strict laws prohibiting the teaching of biblical creationism in their educational institutions. Also all wise parents would want to protect their young, innocent and inexperienced children from any unreal, unscientific, improbable,  not-provable, supernatural teachings as well as persuasions to believe the same beliefs as those in Dark Ages, Medieval Age, and superstitious ages. Children of 21st century should be taught to be able to question, to analyze, to rationalize and to be logical as well as to think for themselves. 

Besides, let's face it, people are told to believe that Jesus is the son of God, but since when has God ever agreed or acknowledged the claim? Jesus was prosecuted, condemned and killed for that claim. Chinese rebel Hong Siu Chuan, the leader of Chinese Christian revolt for the "Heavenly Father, Heavenly Brother and Heavenly Peace Kingdom", committed suicide for the same claim... If Jesus was the salvation, then people like Joan D'Arc and Giordano Bruno and thousands of others in Spanish Inquisition would not have been tortured and burnt alive, or countless people would not have perished in Crusaders wars, which had achieved nothing in the end.  Also scientists like Galileo and Copernicus would not have to be so scared. Of course, these things happened in the past, but the energy is still present, because the church has no intention to recant its commitments, except its insistence on the same unverifiable claims... Before religion can prove what God really looks like, "the image of Creator" can only be reflected in memories of Dark Ages and Spanish Inquisitions... There are many other religions on earth that don't have the bloody past and that are really and only for the well being of the heart, the spirit and the soul!.. Sorry! But here again it needs to be said! It has to be said if only to show that at long last, human beings on earth are no longer afraid to speak the truth, or to speak out against church authorities, and have no fear any more to be imprisoned, tortured and burnt alive! But how can 2000 years of bottled up misguidance and consequences be relieved and described in a page like this? How many millions or billions of past souls in those Dark and Medieval Ages would like to tell their own stories too? 

In short, both make-belief democracy and political religion are some things the West has inherited from its troubled ancient past, and still are stuck with them in this scientific space and nuclear age. Momentum of tradition does not allow it to come clean. Meanwhile, the gap between scientific nature and the superstitious nature are widening each day and minute, there can be no doubt what the final revelation would be. Such conflicting energies have no long term future, but could still add human atrocities in this spiritually and politically conflicting world, and therefore should not be enlarged, nor exported, nor spread all over the globe. In fact, after only some 2 to 3 hundred generations of evolution in total civilization, the human nature is still raw. It would take yet thousands more generations to evolve and develop truly advanced and mature human nature. But we are already in the nuclear weapon age. It's not the weapons that needs controls, in fact, it cannot be controlled, because nuclear energy is needed for the future. It's the human politicians and political-religious belief that need to be controlled, and some decisive and urgent measures should take place soon! All human beings must individually and collectively take up responsibility to discard the misled, imaginary and troubled past and to face reality of modern age before it's too late!... 

Finally, let me emphasize, I say this, not with any intent to offend well meaning church goers or people who are innocently attracted to the name, the appearance and methods of political and religious persuasions. In fact, I write because it's about time to write and to speak out, because it is becoming one of  the major ticking time bombs of the 21st century...  Now, before we make a conclusion to these discussions, let us do some final reflections and ask a few questions, but only briefly. 

1) Old Testament Christianity insists that there can only be one single God, and claims to be a monotheistic religion. Then Jesus was added as the only son of God and if you believe him, you will be given "Everlasting Life". If Jesus did have such superhuman power, then obviously he has makes him also a God. But who or what is father God? Since no human has ever seen or met God in person, or proven that He exists. Tue or false?. 

2) There are numbers of large church posters in Hong Kong streets advertising and promising that anyone believing in Jesus will be given Everlasting Life. Of course, enough people have believed, but why no one has ever reported having received, experienced, or even known any Everlasting Life. So where or what is Everlasting Life? Can church show or prove it?  True or false?

3) According to Christian belief, the first and most important of Ten Commandments is "I am the Lord your God.... You shall have no other Gods before me". Then Jesus claimed to be God's son. As God's son, he make himself also a God.  In that case, did he not disobey God's first Commandment? Since Jesus was condemned, convicted and executed for blasphemy against God, now that he had added a second offense by disobeyed God's very first Commandment. How could God ever agree to accept Jesus as His son? No wonder God has never agreed or confirmed Jesus' claim. Besides, not only Jesus and but the Christian church too would have answered God's first Commandment by disobeying it.  Also the modern Christian nations answer this Commandment with "Freedom of Religion:" and allow all sorts of Gods and "images" of worship under legal protection. True or false?

4) Christian religion believes and preaches that God created Adam, and made Eve from Adam's ribs, who then gave birth to mankind. It also believes that Earth is the sole center of universe with the Sun revolving around earth. Isn't that what Christians worship God for? Could Divine Creation  possibly be true? If not true, wouldn't it reduce God to be a powerless and jobless God? Some modern government legally prohibit teaching of Creationism by God, does that not mean religion is not free any more? Does it also mean "Freedom for Religion" is just religion's own ineffective political rhetoric?   

5) The entire story about Jesus was written by church people and found in the Christian Bible only, and not in authentic Jewish history or ancient civic records. Also how could Jesus, the human, have a life-story just like the mythological legend of Pagan god Mithra? In other words, where are the solid proof that Jesus actually existed? True or false?

6) Bible says Jesus was born of Virgin mother. Can an egg alone give birth to a child without being fertilized by a sperm? Is that some kind of new laws or science of nature? Did biblical writers back 2000 years ago think it could really happen? Or what? Do modern educated people also think it could? 

7) In history there are no records for birthday of Jesus. The day Dec 25th was the legendary birthday of Pagan sun god Mithra. It was in 350 AD Pope Julius, the First, officially ordered that Dec 25th to be converted as Jesus' birthday, Christmas. Christmas celebrations were for a long time suppressed in United States and in Britain due to objection to its Pagan origin. It had only become popular again after middle of 19th century... True or false?  

8) The date and story of Jesus' crucifixion were not found in historic or civic records. Only Bible describes that Jesus was prosecuted and convicted and then executed for blasphemy. Through out 2000 years, the date and event of Jesus' crucifixion had not been verified by proper historical proof, so can fictions became facts? 

9) Resurrection. Can a human being, nailed to the cross, bled to death, then much later that bloodless dead body suddenly become alive again? Can mythological tales become facts or truth in life? Did biblical writers back 2000 years ago think that's possible? What do you think today? Would modern people believe in illusory stories, such as Hollywood movies, so much as to give their hearts and souls, and then start praying? 

10) History shows that Pagan religion was the popular national worship of Roman Empire at the time when it was converted into Christianity. History also shows that Jesus and Pagan sun god Mithra shared the same legendary story, e.g. born of virgin mother in a stable witnessed by 3 wise men, having 12 disciples, last supper, crucified and resurrected, cross as main symbol, and are both called Messiah, Savior, the Light, etc, etc.... So, how is it possible for two religions and two gods from two entirely different historical origins to coexist and grow side by side until they become one Christianity? Could a man, born in flesh, yet live like a mythological god? How could such coincidence, or colossal controversy occur without being objected, or even detected, then and even now? What measures did the ancient authorities deploy to make thinking public believe and obey?   

(Note: Many books, encyclopedia and websites now report that many ancient mythological gods of Indian, Egyptian, Greek and Persian origins also had similar stories.  Please book, such as "Too Long in the Sun", etc... )

11) The second most important Commandment from God is that Christians should do nothing except worshiping God on the 7th day, the last day of Creation, the day of Saturn, or Saturday, or Sabbath Day, which is "a day of Sabbath (reverence) to the Lord, your God". But instead, the Christian church rather chose Sunday to do worship. Sunday or sun's day was the 1st day of Creation, not the 7th day. Sunday was in fact the day to worship god of sun, Mithra. This official act was decreed in year 321 by Roman emperor Constantine after he had converted to Christianity. Now after17 centuries, Sunday is still observe, not Sabbath Day... True or false?

If true, wouldn't that mean that the Christian church and entire followers have all knowingly disobeyed God's Commandments?.

12) The next important command from God is "You shall not kill", meaning killing humans. But in the following over 3500 years since the advent of Ten Commandment, the Christian followers were more busy than others in killing themselves and other humans in wars of conquests, in Roman Colosseum, in religious wars or Crusades, in torturing or burning heretics alive, in colonial wars and in world wars. If Christian authorities at home do not believe and follow God's commands, why export to the rest of world? True or false?

13) The next most important command from God is "You shall not commit adultery". The modern Christian governments answer this command by being the first to legalize divorce, and homosexual marriage or gay sex between man and man, etc., etc.,. We all know that HIV/Aids were started by homosexual intercourse, which by now has killed tens of millions, especially in Africa. The church answer God's command by allowing tens of thousands of priests to commit sex crimes against young kids in dozens of nations, and pay for the crimes with money collected from other church goers... True or false?

14) The next most important command from God is "You shall not steal". Emperor Constantine I, the Roman emperor who replaced Pagan worship with Christian worship, also built Christian churches by looting from Pagan temples. The huge bronze alter of the biggest Christian church, St. Peter Basilica, now at the center of Vatican, was made from material which was originally the huge bronze front doors of Pagan temple "Pantheon". Thus, even the head of first church offended God's commands.... True or false?     

15) In ancient time it was crucial for rulers to claim divine support in order to rule with divinely ordained authority. History shows that Emperor Constantine I, who left his mark in history by claiming divine support, first from Pagan Gods and then from Christian God in two separate spiritual visions. He also disobeyed God's command "not to kill" by killing his own father-in-law who had made him and his father emperors, as well as his own wife and his eldest son. True or false?

16) Jesus was hailed by the church to be the Saviour, but Jesus neither saved the horrific killings of wife, son and relatives by emperor Constantine who promoted Christianity, nor did Jesus save the Roman Empire, nor any religious wars and religious killings done by his own church, not even the Christians who died at the Colossuem, nor any known ordinary believers through out the entire history of Christianity. Surely Jesus, the Messiah, the Savior, must have heard their desperate prayers.. So, where did all those prayers go?  How much worth is in that sacred title "Jesus the Savior"?

17) The Christian church possessed army and navy, and had fought many bloody battles with European monarchies. They called non-believers Heretics and burnt thousands of them alive in front of the public in Rome and in Spain (Look up Spanish Inquisition). Scientist Giordano Bruno was burnt alive in AD 1600, therefore for about 1500 years the church oppressed people with extreme measures and terror that also forced Europe into centuries of oppressed Dark Ages and Medieval Ages, which inhibited many centuries of growth in European civilization. This is not an ordinary religion. Ordinary religion does not do all that. And if there is a God, God would not have wanted that either.. True or false?   

18) The Catholic church annihilated the religions in Southern America, such as the Incas, the Mayan and the Aztec, and tried to wipe out their historical records and relics. They also tried to wipe out the Arabian cultural influences in Spain, which was conquered and ruled by the Arabs for 7 centuries. Christian believers, led by Hong Siu Chuan, stemming from the church in Macaw tried to take over China by force in the 19th century and caused bloodshed that lasted 4 times as long as the 2nd World War and killed multi-million Chinese lives, but failed to take over China.  

19) History has witnessed other religions that worshipped the sun. There have been at least a dozen known mythological deities, such as Mithra of Iran/Persia, Krishna of India, Horus of Egypt, Indra of Nepal, Promentheus, Hercules, Zeus of Greece, Adad of Assyria, Crit of Chaldea, Hesus of Druids and lots more. They almost all represented the godliness and power of sun, many with the usual accompanying astrological companions, or minor deities of solar planets, and with their related mythological symbolic interpretations, for instance: the Cross (symbolizes sun's rays or power, or the cross of ecliptic and celestial equator), the 12 disciples (symbolizing the 12 solar mansions or zodiacal signs or 12 months of solar travels). Many of them were crucified and resurrected (symbolizing sun set and sun rise), then ascended to heaven on Easter (Spring Equinox, when the sun is reborn)... Many were born of virgin mother (Virgo was the ancient 1st Solar Mansion, symbolizing purity and un-worldliness). Many were born on Dec 25th (Winter Solstice) in a stable witnessed by 3 wise men. Some were said to have walked on water (sun's moving reflection on water) .... These were common similarities between all the listed deities and more. So ask yourself was Jesus meant to be a sun god, ancient deity of mythology, or what? Is that why St. Helena's discovery of the origin Cross is non-existent today? 

(Many of these deities were supposed to have been baptized in a river. Many of them fought with evil. Most of them were called Saviour, Messiah, the Lord, Master, the Truth, the Light, the Good Sheppard, the Redeemer... Some even have carpenter for a earthly father.... Undoubtedly the origin of all these gods or deities came from the myth and worship of the sun and other solar phenomena. But apparently even these gods were not invincible because many of them have long become backgrounds of history. The sun is of course bright and the source of light, therefore god of sun represents Light, Righteous and Just, and therefore they battle with evil and darkness, thus they are also the god of battle and war. Sun is life force and therefore god of sun is worshipped as Life and the Lord... There is no doubt astonishing similarities between life story of Jesus and those of mythological deities exist. How did such many similarities came to be written in the New Testament? How can any intelligent person believe that a human can have a life like those mythological gods. Does that not raise doubts and questions about the backgrounds and purposes of New Testament? 

20) Our heart goes to the innocent trillions of people who have kneeled, prayed, begged and thought of themselves worthless before Jesus for the past 2000 years. The church wants people to worship Jesus as the Son of God. The same billions who believed were not told that unless God has agreed, such claims would amount to fabrication or imposition to God's will and is therefore an offense to God, and yet the church continues to lead Europe and the whole world to commit the same offense. True or false?  

21) If there are no facts to support Jesus' claims to be God's son and to be the Saviour of mankind, then what's left in that religious worship? And since Jesus didn't write the gospels, and was neither a known great scholar, nor great thinker, nor great philosopher, not even a great religious theoretician, how come he became the Light, the Path or the Truth? And how did convicted man (still not exonerated offender, become the Lord or the Master? Don't you want to know by what historical process he had evolved from being a condemned man to become the center of worship who has made believers so belittled and worthless as to kneel and pray before him? This is the 21st century and not medieval Dark Age, nor age of slavery. Now it's time to ask hard and serious questions because people or heretics are in no danger to be burnt alive!... True or false?  

22) Should human civilization believe in divine creation or the knowledge of evolution? Either one or the other, the two cannot co-exist concurrently. One of them will have to be the important future of human civilization, and the other, the meaningless past! However, today the theme that God creates all things and beings is prohibited by law for teaching in educational institutions! If this is taken away from God's capacities, it becomes immediately obvious, what else can the Almighty do?  True or false?

23) Indeed, in America, the government has officially prohibited the teaching of Divine Creation. Does that not set a precedence for other responsible governments around the world to prohibit and control the spread the idea of divine creation? Why do parents all over the world work so hard and hope so dearly to make their children intelligent, rational and to be able to distinguish facts from fictions, or to separate logics from illusions? Right or wrong?

24) Religions can and do bring beautiful love, peace and hope to the individual soul and to social function. They can also impart harmony and inner peace, provided the right religion is revered and followed. Religions can also be an irrational energy and emotion that would persuade and demand complete submission of allegiance that had brought centuries of oppression and darkness, also causing many wars in the past, Therefore, for those who care, it becomes necessary to promote the right kind of belief and put down or expose the wrong kind of worship. Right or wrong? 

25) Records clearly show that Catholic belief is an amalgam between worships of 1) Jewish Judaism (Ten Commandments or Old Testament),  2) Christianity (New Testaments) and 3) Paganism worship. Therefore there are 3 religions involved, each with its history, its distinctive characteristics, its own different gods and own purposes all mixed. In that case, which gods or religion should receive devotee's prayers? Does that not alarm those who pray? Where do the prayers go? How many prayers have been received, answered or unanswered? Right or wrong?

26) Even in Dark Ages and Medieval days, people were forced to believe fictions as facts, or else they would be burnt alive, why are we, the modern educated humans, today still being lured and persuaded to believe the same old fictions as facts too? And our very caring and responsible politicians also want us to believe! True or false?      

Conclusions;- In this page, I have referred many times to the historical term "Dark Ages". This is a term or rather an era of history which does not appear to be a preferred period of history for reference, because most details of events in this period are lacking or obscured. In fact, even the exact length or duration of this period are confusing. Some historians consider it to be between 478 to 800 AD. Some consider it to be between 500 to 1000 AD. Some think it lasted 1000 years. Others think it covers 5th century to Renaissance. At any rate, it was a period when nothing much was going on except religion. The term's more usual and pejorative sense is of a period of intellectual darkness and barbarity. Indeed, the term Dark Ages or Middle Ages present the confusing and very contradictory picture of a society attempting to structure itself politically on a spiritual or supernatural basis. Within these ages, not only each individual life, but also all social activities as well as affairs of the state were desperately entangled with the demands and supernatural belief of the Christian church. Supreme authority was wielded by the Christian pope over the authorities of European monarchs. The church not only owned cities, but also armies, and was often in open wars with European kings and emperors. Besides, the church had the absolute rights to punish non-believers, or any deviations from those supernatural doctrines of Christian church, called "heresies". Trials, imprisonments, tortures, and burning alive in public views of heretics or offenders of Christian beliefs were common occurrences through out the periods of Dark Ages or the Medieval Ages. All of that were carried in the name of Christian God, and His self-proclaimed, but not proven, only son of God, Jesus. 

Even in 1600 AD, one scholar Giordano Bruno who wouldn't believe the Christian theory that earth is the sole center of universe with the sun revolving around it, etc., was imprisoned and tortured for 7 years. After 7 years still Bruno found it impossible to submit to the Christian belief, so the church burnt him alive in public to frighten others (At that time Copernicus had already published his theory of Heliocentric Universe for over 50 years). Of course Bruno's case was just one of the numerous examples. In fact all the historical instants described in this page are mere examples of the past, showing similar controversial actions between fictions and facts. However, what really matters is not the past, but what's happening in our life and our society today, or in this 21st century of nuclear weapon age. Belief is what motivates actions. So what kind of motivation do we want out children to be motivated or educated with? It's not something trivial or immaterial. It's what drives people to believe, to think and to act either intelligently, logically or to act blindly or irrationally, and consequently to become a wise and practical person, or one to indulge, to obey or to be loyal and faithful to some nonexistent supernatural beings. Nonexistent because so many millenniums have passed, yet none of those superhuman phenomena have been proven truthful and real. Therefore, in order to show and to demonstrate what enormous consequences supernatural belief could do to a person, to a society or a civilization, the only way is to expose nakedly the extents of those falsities, those cruelties and those inhuman actions of the past. That is why the revisits of past performance and historical facts of supernatural belief become necessary. It becomes doubly necessary because it appears that modern civilization has no intention of learning from the past, except pressing on with same seriousness to spread fictional beliefs around, causing more illogical consequences for the whole modern world. Besides, the timely exposure of hidden past is like exposing or removing the contents out of a bomb, perhaps it might even prevent it from becoming an unexpected massive nuclear time bomb.         

A few final words:-  I am not a politician, nor am I a member of any political party. I am not even a member of any religious cult. This website is an academic one, it came out of a lifetime of questions and observation of how people trying to persuade, convince others to believe and obey what had practically destroyed civilization for a millennium. I am only an unworthy humble student of science. This website was originally created to explain, in my view, how the universe regenerates as well as how or why gravitational force and electromagnetic force become an energy in waves. Therefore, this website was not originally intended for any political or religious discussions. However, circumstances did change considerably. Twice large and emotional street demonstrations were organized by political and religious groups in demand of Western style democracy, while Hong Kong government was hard at work for an improved or suitable democratic system, and this writer was trying hard to concentrate in writing. Meanwhile every few days somewhere in the world some democratic systems are reporting electoral cheatings, violent verbal and physical disputes, organized demonstrations, some resulting in days or weeks of civil unrests, including killings. In short, somewhere a democratic system is in dire trouble. This writer's peace was badly disturbed! Then it came to mind that only exactly 100 years ago, every single government official in China was qualified for the job strictly by 3 levels of academic examines. The system was completely indiscriminate, fair, intelligent and democratic with equal chance given to the entire grass roots! There was no need for arguments, fights, demonstrations and killings. For about 1300 years it had provided imperial China with only the best capable, able and high quality public servants. Yet even after all those years, no single complaint or criticism about the system has ever been heard of. That's what appears to me as a system of democracy!     

So what's going on in our beautiful world? For a good 2000 years, people have been told that humankind and everything else were created by God. and therefore should worship and obey Him, or His commands, in other words, his church. But believe or not, for all that time, nobody ever knew what God was or is or  looks like, or even made of what! In between there had been many who didn't believe, or agree, they were imprisoned, tortured and burnt alive by church! O.K. That was many centuries ago! Yet even today, people still don't know what God is, or is made of! Today, advanced and courageous nations have already established laws that prohibit the schools and all educational institutions to teach or spread of the idea that God is the Creator of humans. But here in Hong Kong, people are still being led to praise, to pray, to kneel and to obey the unknown and indescribable super Lord and Master. People are still brought to those solemn rituals of baptism and to declare their total loyalty and allegiance to the Lord and therefore also to the church organization. Many Hong Kong streets, especially North Point, are dappled with adverts and reminders that Jesus is your Lord and Master, and that if you followed him you will have "Everlasting Life". What really is Everlasting Life? Nobody knows, because in this life everybody dies! And if there were really an "After-Life" or "Second Life" then who knows in that After-Life whether dead people, or ghosts, must die again once more, or live automatically for ever, or not! If they do live for ever, then who needs Jesus anyway!

These days, millions of people are traveling in what was once known as the Heaven (sky) and many are living in it too (space station). Yet certain religion, even after 2000 years of failed attempts, still want people to close not only their eyes, but their mind too, only to be loyal and faithful to their imaginary Lord! Quite a lot of precious Chinese people's love and reverence for their ancestors have been diverted to worship those fantasized Super Lords. In another words, from veneration of ancestors, the real creator of human life, worthy of love and respect, instead, to worship and obey some unknown and indescribable existence, which is obviously just a void, now already prohibited by law and by educational establishments to spread around! In this meantime, some politicians are trying to split up every nation into confronting and contradicting political parties, especially bi-polar parties, and call it Democracy. In other words, politicians want to split up all human communities into conflicting parts and in daily power struggles. As a result, nowadays every few days somewhere some democracies are having arguments, disagreements, voting disputes, verbal and physical violence. But eventually, if and when politicians really succeeded in splitting up every nation, or the entire mankind, then by the time, humans would already be living amidst something far more dangerous than today's nuclear weapons. In which case, any one, or all three, of the ticking time bombs, i.e., the bomb of political religions, the bomb of nation splitting politics and the dangerous nuclear bomb, will explode!. 

Why? According to Newton's Laws of Motion, whenever there is an action, there is also a reaction. In nature, energies cannot simply disappear into nothing! Energies only accumulate and in time there will be a sudden explosion! There have been some very wrong energies of belief slowly adding up for thousands of years, wanting to explode. There are also some nation-splitting political energies slowly becoming worldwide, awaiting for a reason to explode. Any large energies, whether accumulated over a long time, or over large areas worldwide, would likely explode with great or un-expectable magnitude. I feel it's better to write about it, because I don't believe that such rapidly advancing 21st century scientific intelligence is likely to tolerate it much longer. However I may have been too critical in my writings. So I before finished the writings, I did think of changing them significantly. But after some reflections, I still felt the pressure and urgency inside wanting to come out. So I left them as they were written, but I did make sure that these writings are strictly historical and verifiable records, also purely rational and logical. Nevertheless, I could still have been sloppy, forgetful, or unintentional in some parts, and so appeared offensive. If I had been, please allow me to apologize! (June 9th 2010 Hong Kong)
